Tranquil camping and glamping less than a mile from the Cleddau Estuary, with private loos and facilities at each pitch and campfires allowed

Moithan Meadow is a tranquil six-acre camping and glamping site on a farm in the Pembrokeshire National Park. Surrounded by sheep fields and an arc of ancient woodland, the only sounds you’re likely to hear from beyond the campsite boundary are baas, birdsong and the buzzing of bees. The only traffic you’ll encounter will be from passing sheep as they’re herded from one neighbouring field to another. And the only queues for the facilities will be… oh hang on a second — there’ll be none of that because every pitch has its own toilet, shower and kitchen shelter here. This place may offer good old fashioned country camping but it’s been made to suit modern tastes.

This up-to-date take on the tradition of hosting campers on farms is thanks to young campsite owners, Beth and Luke. This Pembrokeshire-born pair offer the warmest of Welsh welcomes to their guests and are as enthusiastic about their area as it’s possible to be. Add to this, the fact that Moithan Meadow is a real family affair, and you’ll start to realise why this place exudes such charm. Beth worked with Luke and her dad to diversify this part of her family’s farm and even her grandfather's lorry has been lovingly refurbished to make way for glamping guests.

Everything is done with a light touch and care for the environment. You’ll find just seven carefully mown, en-suite pitches alongside two bell tents and, most comfy of the lot, that lorry: now christened Derek's Waggon. It has two bedrooms, a kitchenette and its own shower and loo. The bell tents may be a step down from this, but they are definitely still glamping with made-up beds and blankets. Even the camping has a luxury feel with a hand-crafted kitchen shelter, a hot shower, eco-loo and fire pit at every pitch. Each also has its own eco-friendly, solar-powered locker at 'Ty Croeso' (The Welcome House) where you can recharge your phone ready for all the photos we predict you’ll want to take.

On site, there’s plenty of space to enjoy with a woodland walk (where wellies are a must), a well-fenced wildlife pond and the chance to feed the sheep. Cleddau Estuary is half-a-mile’s walk away and the perfect place for a picnic and, further afield, but within a 15-minute drive, there’s Folly Farm Adventure Park for little ‘uns and Wild Lakes for watersports. Then, of course, there are the beaches that Pembrokeshire is famous for. Tenby, Freshwater East, sweeping Saundersfoot Bay and award-winning Manorbier Beach are all within half an hour’s drive of here.

We loved it there! Our family of 4 stayed 4 nights and we absolutely loved it. We stayed in a furnished bell tent lovely views, immersed in nature and perfect set up. We had everything we needed at the kitchen, toilet and hot shower. Beth was very welcoming and everything is well set up and looked after. We felt cosy and safe and the kids loved it! Beth recommended a few places to see, eat, drink and play. Most of places are 30min average drive away. All Good we loved it and will return :)

En-suite camping pitch
Moithan Meadow is a home from home. We had a en-suite camping pitch and it had everything we needed for a super comfortable and relaxing stay. It really does feel like you are so far away from anything in a really good way! We had a wonderfully quiet and peaceful stay.

En-suite camping pitch
We stayed at Moithan Meadow Campsite from 13th-16th Aug. Family of four, 2 adults, 2 kids (13 and 9) It was fantastic! A warm welcome from Luke and Beth. Followed by walk around info as soon as we got there, 7 en-suite tent pitches, each with a hot shower cabin, compost toilet, kitchen AND dining area. They also have 2 glamping Bell Tents on site. Incredible. The meadow is in a lovely setting surrounded by working farm land and lovely views. Beth sorted us 2 different food/treat boxes through her friend which were awesome and was very helpful with local recommendations and tips. Rain and shine we had a comfortable and pleasant stay and highly recommend anyone visiting Pembrokeshire for camping to book here.

From the host
There's a big welcome to guests of all ages to Moithan Meadow, where you'll make some precious family memories. There are nine spacious en-suite pitches within six acres of unspoiled natural meadow. Seven pitches are mowed ready to pitch your own tent, along with two fully decked out glamping bell tents. New for this this year is our converted self-contained lorry in our two acre paddock field. You can look forward to off-grid camping, with each pitch having its own picnic table, eco-loo, hot shower, sustainably sourced wood panelled shelters for cooking & food preparation, Belfast sinks and fire pits – ready for those star gazing nights. At 'Ty Croeso' you'll find your own solar powered charging locker where you can lock away up to three devices at once for charging. Also at Ty Croeso you'll find a freezer for your your ice packs. Each pitch has been thoughtfully laid out to offer lovely views, with access to our private ancient coppice woodland 'welly walk' and our fenced pond, which attracts an abundance of wildlife. To help keep our peaceful Moithan Meadow as relaxing as possible, the camping meadow is a car-free zone once you’re set up. Beth & Luke will be on hand with their quad and trailer to help you cart your gear to the pitch on rainy days. Looking for day trip inspiration? We are perfectly located for you to explore the rolling Preseli Hills, sandy beaches of the National Park, Cleddau Estuary and the bustling market town of Narberth.
Nearby attractions

If you wanted to venture away from the sleepy Meadow during your stay, there are some lovely country walks which go in a loop from Moithan Meadow, Beth and Luke will be more than happy to share their secret trails with you. Cleddau Esturary is half a miles walk from the site providing you with perfect sunset spot. Wild Lakes (018348 91511) is only a five-minute drive away, where water sports are taken to a whole new level and, if that doesn’t tickle your fancy, then they’ve even got a superb cafe with fresh and vibrant dishes where you can enjoy the water but from a distance. Clerkenhill Adventure Farm is less than 20 minutes by car, with an indoor play barn, adventure trails, crazy golf, outdoor activities, and the home of frizbee golf, which is taken very seriously among the locals. Carew Castle is a 15-minute drive away, Take a stroll around the castle and old Mill and its 2000 year history, it's also the ideal place to walk off that Sunday lunch at the Carew Inn, just opposite. Narberth High Street, a quaint market town just 15 minutes away, where site owners Beth and Luke have informed us is the best Breakfast Roll at Fforc Deli. You’ll also find plenty of independent shops, antique stores, grocers, pubs and cafes. Not forgetting the Pembrokeshire National Park is on your doorstep, beaches and walking trails a plenty.
