The Owner Says

This Funky geodesic dome is complete with wooden floor, giant comfy bean bags, holistic colour changing lights, double bed and cosy wood-burning stove. Geodesic domes were designed in 1951, and remains the strongest structure known to man. Our contemporary dome is the perfect location to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It sleeps 2-4, making it perfect for a getaway for a couple or the whole family.

The facilities building, only a stone's throw away, has hot showers and toilets, (including disabled access) plus a kitchen area with sink, pots, pans, cutlery, fridges, toaster and kettle. Next to the dome is a small structure with gas hobs in for cooking in. There is also a laundry area with washing machine and dryer which can be used by request at an additional cost. If you like to BBQ, we have a large gas fired grill station with two cooking rings on each side. Speaking of fire, your first nights wood for your wood burning stove is free, and thereafter all the wood you need can be found on site at a reasonable price. All well behaved dogs are welcome. Guests are respectfully asked to remove their shoes when wet. Elsewhere on our alternative campsite, you'll see a variety of other glamping structures including: Mongolian Yurts, Bell tent, Showmans' Caravan, a converted Jetstar aeroplane and coming soon - a UFO! Our quirky campsite is designed to experience the outdoors in a rustic setting. We look forward to welcoming you to Apple Camping!

About Apple Camping

Suitable For

Glamping only. So no tents, campervans or caravans.

Owner Toby has sent his life round these parts and is never short of recommendations. Just ask if you want some local advice. For families, Manor House Wildlife Park (01646 651201) offers a chance to explore the globe – head down to the African Village where you can walk with lemurs or trek through the wallaby enclosure in the Australian bush. Back in Britain, the nearby harbour town of Tenby is a cute little spot, with ferries running out to Caldy Island, or try the harbour in Saundersfoot where there is also a sandy, blue flag beach. Freshwater West, meanwhile, was the filing location for Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows and Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood, while Barafundle Bay was recently voted the best beach in Wales.

Food & Drink

The family-friendly, Parsonage Farm Inn (01834 871436) in the village of St Florence (2¼ miles) is an excellent local pub, while the Sun (01834 871322), also in St Florence, is a traditional picture-postcard pub full of local memorabilia.

Great place but avoid funky dome

We enjoyed our stay at apple camping as the area was lovely, toilets/kitchens were clean and the grass area and bbq were lovely. But we wished we were in another tent. The funky dome is mouldy, all our pictures that are taken as families do when on holiday, showed the mold inside the tent easpecially behind the bed, its ingrained in the structure. Having my 3 kids sleep in there was a worry. We saw other tents that looked clean and tidy but ours did not compare and i think it should be retired/ recovered before reletting to other paying guests. We would return as the site is so nice, but defintely to a different tent.

Jetstar 🛩

I booked this experience for my partners birthday and it did not disappoint! Everything was well thought of and the owners should be proud of their restoration of the Jet Star! It was comfy and cosy throughout. We had a perfect few nights stay and we can not wait to return! It came as a surprise that we literally didn’t need to bring much with us at all, as everything was on site available. I couldn’t recommend more for the most enjoyable and relaxing experience.

A home from home

From the first moment we arrived, we were greeted by friendly helpful faces. Everything we needed was to hand and all we had to bring was ourselves, food and any personal little comforts you just can't do without. In my case, extra pillows. The site is clean and well managed and I felt, even with all accommodation filled, private with no intrusions from other guests. A lot of sites in the UK are pricing themselves out of the market due to the increase in staycations but Apple Camping's charges are reasonable for what they provide. I love camping but the amount of gear needed for a good level of comfort, is getting ridiculous! This was a brilliant compromise. A comfortable bed, a kitchen just for us and a table and chairs to sit and enjoy the sun. That's without all the shared facilities. I'm already booking another stay in September as a birthday present for my best friend. Can't wait to try all the other accommodations. Next year, Arabian Nights Airbus!

Amazing stay

I cannot recommend apple camping enough! I stayed in one of the lunar bell tents, which was beautiful presented inside and felt incredibly homely for my short stay. The host was very welcoming and helped me out with recommendations and information about local attractions and things to do. The facilities were better than any I have experienced on a glamping site before with lovely clean showers and toilets, and full kitchen facilities so that it was possible to cook without any camping gear. I enjoyed being shown around the whole site and would love to try out one of the other options if I return one day (which I hope to do). Thank you for a great stay!!

Fantastic stay

Myself and my sister and her giant dog, Duggy, stayed for 2 nights at Apple Camping. We had the most wonderful stay. The pitches are spaced apart so it doesn't feel like you are in the laps of your neighbours. Facilities are great, and the staff were super friendly. We stayed in the Witches Hat and it was just perfect. Spacy inside and lots of room to sit out in the sun. We had a fantastic stay and will be back again in the future, im sure :) Pip
