Facilities
The safari tents have everything you need. Each has a kitchen – gas hobs, fridge, sink with hot water on tap, plus plenty of basics (oil, salt, pepper and herbs) – and a living area with a table and chairs, sofa, candles, lanterns, books and games. There is electricity throughout each tent and a wood-burner with plenty of logs – if you do need more, head down to the log store and pile your wheelbarrow high, just pop £5 in the honesty box. Each tent sleeps four with a Welsh box bed, ideal for couples, and a double sofa bed, great for friends or a couple of kids (all bedding is provided). Safari tents are en suite –flushing toilet, basin, hot shower and fluffy towels. Well-sheltered veranda, table and chairs for outdoor dining. Fire pits provided, with a griddle and hot plate for barbecuing. Cynefin, the restored railway carriage, sleeps two and features all the same luxuries in a more compact setting and, of course, one less bed. Every glamping unit on the site has its own, private wooden hot tub, heated by a wood-burning stove, which once up to temperature, will stay hot for around an hour.
Suitable For
This is a glamping only site suitable for couples and families. Dogs are welcome in the safari tents, however the railway carriage Cynefin is not suitable for dogs.
Nearby
Wales is known for its castles, and there are some right on your doorstep. If you only visit one make it Caerphilly Castle (029 2088 3143) – one of the greatest surviving medieval castles, covering 30 acres of islands, moats and ramparts. Cardiff Castle (029 2087 8100), the fairy tale folly Castle Coch (029 2081 0101) and Raglan Castle (01291 690228), with its angular towers and Tudor-styling are also top spots for history lovers. Once you’ve had enough of castles, try the great monastic ruins of Tintern Abbey (01291 689251), whose beauty has been captured over the centuries by William Wordsworth and JMW Turner. There are countless other places nearby to visit, like St Fagans – with 100 acres of parkland and 40 original buildings from various historical periods, Big Pit (0300 111 2333) where, guided by former pit workers, you can explore Wales' industrial past. Also, Blaenavon Ironworks (01495 792615) and the huffing and puffing Brecon Mountain Railway (01685 722988) are popular with visitors.
Food & Drink
Food hampers for breakfast or BBQ's are available to book in advance, and there's a small honesty shop next to the wood store where you can pick up essentials (free range farm eggs, local preserves, honey, pickles and chutneys). Guests can buy provisions from the local village, which is only a mile down the lane. Nearby places to eat include stylish gastropub The Old Cottage (029 2076 5961), no-nonsense British pub The Maenllwyd (029 2088 2372) and Italian bistro Volare (029 2132 2077). Not forgetting the countless restaurants in buzzing Cardiff.

Beautiful escape to the countryside
We booked the wagon and when we arrived Richard had the woodburner going which was fabulous as it was already dark even though it was late afternoon December. The decor is simple but beautiful, all the mod cons and a lovely view from the top of the hill. This is a fabulous place to escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. All the equipment is there to make fab food and in the morning as the snow fell and the bacon sizzled we fired up the hot tub. It takes a couple of hours and plenty of wood so don't be stingy with it as you are worth it! Peppered with walks, reading, Backgammon, cooking and friendlies, a day in a hot tub with great views across the valley was the perfect birthday treat: the morning snow flurry, the midday sunshine, the early evening blue/pink sunset and then the stars appearing was an absolute joy. So close to home in Cardiff, I felt like we were a million miles away. With no one overlooking as you are on the top of the hill we felt such freedom. It was simply the best.

Wonderful yet again
This is our second visit to Under the Oak and yet again it didn’t disappoint. We stayed in the converted carriage again because we loved it so much last time. This time the bath had been swopped for a log fire hot tub which was just wonderful, stepping outside into the hot tub for a glass of wine before dinner was just perfect. The weather was horrendous while we were there but there is definitely something magical about sitting inside all warm and cosy, log burner blazing while the wind and rain howl outside....needless to say we will definitely be returning as soon as we can
★★★★★
Fantastic glamping experience
We have just returned from a weekend here where we were able to relax and enjoy the wonderful scenery and go for walks straight from the tent. we loved having the hot tub and were lucky enough to see a firework display in the distance one night when we were in the hot tub.
★★★★★
Relaxing, private and great views!
We stayed in the converted carriage following a recommendation from friends. What an absolute gem of a place! The outside bath was a huge hit, nothing more relaxing than a soak in the tub watching the sunset. The place is so relaxing and peaceful, we will definitely be back.

Lovely spot and great accomodation
We glamped at Under The Oak during lockdown: 5 of us and the dog in the Safari tent. The tent was lovely: very clean and nicely decorated. The owners were very helpful and friendly. The hot tub was great. Tip: if you are going in the Autumn budget extra for wood: we went through quite a few bags for the fire and hot tub. We had our own private spot with a great view. Would highly recommend.

5 Stars an absolute gem
Wow what a wonderful place. Not being able to leave Caerphilly due to the lockdown, we came across this hidden gem and OMG we loved it. Stayed in the converted railway carriage Cynefin. It’s sooo cute. Everything you need for a cosy stay. We weren’t too sure about the outside bath but we tried it and absolutely loved it. Being sat in the bath looking out at the spectacular views with a glass of wine was just wonderful. Would highly recommend. In fact, we loved it so much we came straight home and booked in again for a few weeks time. Lydia and Richard were very helpful & friendly and the breakfast and bbq hampers were perfect. Can’t wait to be back

Peaceful place in beautiful location
We booked to stay during local lockdown and we enjoyed the family time together. The children enjoyed the hot tub at night watching the stars and marshmallows on the fire. The mud kitchen & sand pit we’re a big hit for the children! Thank you both for wonderful stay

Glorious views, luxurious camping
What an absolutely idyllic spot with incredible views. Lovely owners. High quality and robust Safari tent, fire pit, wood fired hot tub and facilities. I highly recommend. And I only live 10 minutes drive away!!!

Private,relaxing, hot tub,great views.
A friendly welcome upon arrival,a gentle walk to the Safari Tent ( due to Covid) where our luggage awaited us. The tent was well equipped, even USB ports on the sockets for the mobile generation. Both the tent and hot tub burners are easy to light ( all wood/kindling supplied). The tub is ready in an hour..ish. Sat in and enjoyed the great scenery. Lots of local walks with plenty of history, there’s Caerphilly Castle a mile away. Am recommending to friends and will return. 5stars

Couldn't fault it, perfect place to stay
We had a fabulous few days at Under The Oak Glamping this summer, with our two children aged 6 and 8. The accommodation was brilliant, and everything had been thought of. From a mud kitchen and sand pit to keep the kids amused, to candles, a fire pit and fairy lights around the hot tub. It was simply beautiful to watch the swallows over the pond at sunset, (glass of wine in hand). What an incredible spot with such amazing views. The setting with the oak was just stunning. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone visiting the area. With only three safari tents and a hut, it was very quiet and private, especially compared to a camp site. We are converts to safari tents, so much space!
★★★★★
Absolutely stunning!
We have just returned from a long weekend stay at the under the oak camping and it was nothing short of amazing! The set up, facilities, the views are amazing and the owners have done an incredible job. We are already looking into rebooking!

Highly Recommend
Beautiful setting, lovely helpful hosts and great accommodation. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Can't recommend enough
This place is beautiful. We had the train carriage. I wanted somewhere I could barbecue with a view and go for good walks. It was exactly that. The view from our spot was really good. The cabin is really nice, with a cosy and comfy bed. A beautiful walk with incredible views stats directly out of the front door, and only takes ten or so minutes to get to the great views. It's also really convenient for people like us, who can't drive.

Peaceful glamping
We had a wondering time here, set on a lovely farm up a hill you have all the peace and quiet you need. The three of us had all the space and amenities we needed for a short stay. The chance to heat the hot tub, fire pit and the fire in the tent. It was a great experience to share with our 2 year old. The local butchers and superstores were close by, we went to Cardiff for dinner one evening which is not far. We walked around Caerphilly castle one afternoon, only a shame the weather was not on our side. To be honest we didn't need to venture out, having quality family time playing Peppa Pig playing cards and drinking wine was just perfect for us. We would definitely come back again!

One of the best camping trips we’ve had
We’ve just arrived home after a fantastic week staying at Under the Oak, we were welcomed by Lydia and Richard and given a friendly overview of how everything works. We took two teenagers and our Dog who were all over the moon with the site. We stayed in the large 6 person Safari tent which had ample room, a huge area for the dog to run around and us to set up outdoor games. The hot tub was delightful after a days exploring to relax with a glass of wine. The tent had all the comforts of home, a super comfy four poster bed with fairy lights. Fresh sheets and towels and all the amenities you’d need for a great holiday. We cooked meals inside the tent and on the BBQ/fire pit with ease. Evenings were spent playing card games and toasting marshmallows over the fire pit, a beautiful location well thought out for all your needs for a fun family camping trip. Each day we enjoyed different activities all in relatively close proximity to the camp (30/40 minutes by car but many closer options too) gorge scrambling with Adventure Wales shout out to Alex!, horse riding with Ogmore Farm a beautiful beach ride and trek through the dunes, paddle boarding on the RiverTaff - we took our own boards and used the slipway of Channel view centre for a small fee (But they also hire out boards and canoes if needed). We were so fortunate with the weather having 4 day’s of sun but even on rainy days we chilled in the tent with a movie, stoking up the fire and eating on the veranda (4G reception is fine up there- Useful for teenagers). A fantastic week, Under the Oak will not disappoint. Thank you Lydia and Richard - L & A

Perfect romantic getaway!
We had a wonderful few days at Under the Oak staying in Cynefin. Watching bats in the evening sky from the outdoor bath was the perfect way to celebrate my birthday. This is the perfect spot for a romantic getaway. Lydia and Richard were very welcoming. We can’t wait to come back and stay in one of the safari tents soon!

Lovely Break
Stayed at under the oak for a little 2 night break in July as our wedding got Corona'd! Was quite last minute as most places were booked. It didn't disappoint, the tent are clean and very cosy. My children (3&4) love the cabin bed. The bonus to these tents are that you have a bathroom, which is great especially with little ones, shower was really good too! We had ordered a BBQ pack which was lovely, and cooked it on the fire pit. Hot tub was fun, and lush once you get it going. We had a lovely area to ourselves where the children could play, added bonus was the mud kitchen and sand pit! Located on top of the mountain which gave amazing views! We had a lovely break and would recommend.

Little corner of Heaven
We LOVED our stay at Under the Oak Glamping. It was so peaceful, very relaxing and Lydia/Richard were brilliant hosts. They were very accommodating and welcoming. Cynefin was stunning with gorgeous views and we had so much privacy. The outdoor bath tub was fabulous and we loved our outdoor fire ring/bbq. We purchased the BBQ hamper and breakfast hamper, both delicious and good value. We only stayed for 2 nights but were able to venture to Caerphilly Mountain, Castle and take a short drive to Barry Island/ Jackson Bay. It was perfect coming back and unwinding in our little corner of heaven. In the evening especially peaceful and the views were honestly breathtaking. We will be back in the future, it was just perfect for us! Highly recommend for anyone wanting to unwind and relax. It was lovely that during the current situation we had our own privacy and were able to keep safe but have the freedom of the countryside! Thank you Lydia/ Richard!

Brilliant! A very special place.
Just back from four wonderful nights with my three boys and we all had the most amazing time. Beautiful views and scenery. Really comfortable accommodation. Everything was so good! So much to do nearby... Pen y fan.... four falls walk... biking.... quad biking and archery. Can’t recommend highly enough - we will definitely be back - thank you to Richard and Lydia who are lovely hosts too.

Under the oak, above the worries
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in the Cynefin wagon-turned-cabin at Under The Oak. The site was very private but had an amazing view. I took full advantage of nightly fires to grill up goodies from the butcher in Bedwas, and the wood burner in the cabin kept the space nice and toasty as well. Lydia and Richard were friendly at check-in and left me equipped for solitude the rest of the time. I'm looking forward to my next books-and-campfires retreat at Under The Oak.

Perfect!!
My family and I (inc 2 dogs) have just returned from a very stress free 4 night stay at Under the Oak. We were fortunate enough to secure the 6 berth tent. I cannot speak high enough of it to be honest! The views were stunning, the grounds around the tent were exceptionally private and spacious which was perfect for our four legged friends. The hot tub was fun which even had drink holders in it.....perfect for that evening drink watching the sun go down. The bedrooms were great especially the cupboard bed which my 16yr old daughter bagged, it was finished off with fairy lights around it which made it even cosier. The log burner was lovely just to take the edge off the chillier evenings. I though the honesty box for logs/kindling was a good idea as you didn’t need to bother the owners at all. This was our 1st time glamping and certainly not our last! If you have dogs, this really is the place to visit for a few days! Very good communication from booking it to our farewell. I wish Richard and Lydia all the very best with this venture. We loved the place!!

Happy Wife, happy Dog = happy me
We had a short stay away at this lovely venue at the end of September. Despite the weather which at times was like a tornado we had a wonderful stay. Dog friendly, log burning fire and views of the welsh country side, what more could you ask for. Fabulous place, and will be back in the future

Weekend glamping
Had a lovely weekend glamping in the safari tent. Views were amazing and tents provided everything needed. Would definitely visit again.

Will Visit Again
My wife and I are already thinking about our next visit after a lovely 2 night stay. The tent had everything we needed and the wood burner kept us nice and warm even though the rain was pouring outside. When the weather dried up we even managed a whole afternoon in the hot tub. And what a view!

Cozy and Relaxing Weekend
We arrived around 5pm on the Friday and were greeted by the lovely friendly owners who transported all of our things to our glamping tent for the weekend (the car park is a little way away from your tent so wellies or walking boots would be ideal to arrive in). The tent was clean, cozy and had all of the amenities we’d need to be comfortable for our stay. We paid for additional hampers which were full of fresh produce, the bacon in particular was delicious! The views were stunning and the wildlife sounds really added to the experience (cows in the next field and ducks in the pond in front of the tent). The wind really picked up on the second night which meant the canvas was blowing quite loudly, but again this added to the ‘glamping’ experience. We brought our 8 month old with us and found there was plenty of space for all of her things. A travel cot and high chair can be provided if you ask in advance which is handy. One thing to note if you are traveling with a young child is that the adult bed box is high up and the kids will sleep at ground level. The area has a couple of local pubs and then Caerphilly is only a 20 or so minute drive away where you can pick up things you need. There are plenty of supermarkets nearby which was useful. If I could give 100 stars I would!
We recently spent a long weekend at Under the Oak in the 6-man tent - two parents and grown-up children. What a weekend - it really did surpass all expectations and was perfect in every way! Richard & Lydia were lovely hosts, welcoming us on arrival and driving all our luggage to the tent entrance. The site itself was wonderful and every little thing had been thought of. Beautiful views, totally secluded camp area, private hot tub and every comfort we could have wanted - cosy log burning fire, blankets, hot water bottles and twinkling fairy lights. The box-bed was the cosiest I have ever slept in and I'm wondering how I can recreate something similar at home! There is lots to do on the doorstep (we enjoyed country walks and a trip to the beach at Southerndown), but we were equally as happy staying at the tent, cooking on the fire pit and playing the board games provided. A truly perfect weekend - spending quality family time in a glorious setting. Thank you to our hosts and we can't wait to come back!!

Secluded retreat
The service was exceptional, from taking all of our luggage to and from the cars and just generally being on hand for any queries. We hired all 3 tents but still lots of privacy if you were just hiring 1 tent with its own bit of grassland. The site was beautiful, clean and well equipped. Will definitely be returning in the future!

Awesome
Perfect glamping set up to experience wonderful Wales . Although the weather wasn’t brilliant, it was fabulous to return wet from our castle and mountain adventures to hot showers, cosy log burner, supper cooked on the fire pit and steaming hot tub! The boys loved being kept busy collecting more logs from the well stocked log store. We even managed to see Saturn when a break in the cloud allowed us a chance to use our telescope. Fabulous memories made! Our boys loved the Welsh box bed with cosy fairy lights, to avoid fights one night each! Caerphilly castle was amazing even in the rain. The views from the summit of Pen Y Fan were a delight to see . We all thoroughly enjoyed St Fagans national museum of history. We had a lovely meal at The Black Cock Inn and recommend the local village butcher who had a huge selection of treats for the fire pit.

A birthday treat
My partner booked this for my birthday getaway, on arrival we were greeted by Lydia who was extremely friendly and helpful, helping us load our stuff into the 4x4 ready for her to take us up to the safari tents. We did not know what to expect in regards to the tents but upon arrival they surpassed both of our expectations. A “happy birthday” sign hanging out front was a lovely surprise and on entering a bottle of bubbly/balloons and chocolates were an even bigger surprise. The cabin bed, is something totally different which we both loved! The tent comes prepped with plenty of wood/fire starters and kindling but if you need to purchase more, the supplies are just a short walk away. We had a small bit of trouble keeping the hot tub fire a light but after a small phone call with Lydia, Richard was up at our tent and showing/helping us with the hot tub fire, which stayed burning all day! We are already booking for a return trip with family next year! We cannot thank Lydia and Richard enough for our lovely, relaxing trip! 5* Thank you!

Amazing
Spent two nights at under the oak with my two kids aged 5 and 2. My 5 year old loved the box bed light with fairy lights and I was jealous I didn’t get to sleep in there! Tent was well equipped and the hot tub and mud kitchen both very popular. Shame the weather wasn’t a little better but the log burner kept us toasty and warm. Would love to return.

Amazing!
We absolutely loved our stay at under the oak Glamping. We stayed in the newest six person tent. The views were spectacular. The tent is situated on its own so very private and only a short walk from the main farmhouse. The hot tub was fab. The tent is very well equipped and the three bedrooms all very comfortable. My children were fighting to stay in the cupboard bed! The bathroom is very nice. Lydia and Richard were so welcoming and very helpful when teaching us how to heat the hot tub. There had been a calf born whilst we were there and Richard kindly let us see her. There is lots to see and do in the area. We went out to the Gower peninsular one day. Up to the Brecon beacons on another, and to Big Pit on a rainy morning. I would certainly recommend this to all types of groups, we will certainly be returning! 10/10

Amazing weekend in a beautiful location
We were two couples and a dog enjoying a weekend away. This place has beautiful views, nestled in the hillsides if Bedwas. Richard was super helpful and very friendly. So were the neighbors who gave us some delicious plums from their garden. On the first morning we woke up with a cow grazing right outside our window which delighted us all. Although the weather was terrible it almost made the whole experience. It was very cosy sitting inside with the fire lit, playing games and listening to music. We also had a hot tub both nights which was lovely. The "tent" (it's actually more like a cabin) was beautiful and had everything we needed and more! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and we hope to be back soon! Thank you for a great weekend!
★★★★★
Fabulously cosy
We stayed in Dan y Ffawydden which had plenty of space for the five of us (two adults and three teens). The hot tub was fabulous, and the fire pit gave a barbecue with the best view. The weather was changeable, and watching the sky alter from the tub or the verandah was mesmeric, but the tent was wonderfully snug and well equipped when the weather was less kind. Thoroughly recommended, with attentive hosts on hand when needed but left us to enjoy the peace and space the rest of the time. 5*

Simply fantastic !!
Fantastic tent with everything you need for a relaxing break. Lovely bedding on all the beds, great bathroom with loads of hot water and a really nice shower. Kitchen indoors and bbq over the fire pit outside for al fresco meals. The hot tub fitted all of us in and was really hot after an hour with the logs burning. We stayed in the larger tent with loads of outside space and a great view over the valley across to the Bristol Channel. Great beach at Southern Down with rock pools, cliff top walks, ruins and a walled garden to explore, and Caerphilly castle just down the road. Friendly and helpful hosts and free range eggs too...... yum !

Fantastic outdoor experience !!
We stayed in Dan y Ffawydden for a four day weekend break with my daughter and the grandchildren, immaculatef tent with an amazing bathroom, full facilities and great hot water. The view over the valley as far as the Bristol Channel was awesome, loads of outdoor space for the kids, hot tub big enough for all of us, and a fire pit to barbecue over. Really peaceful with just the cows for company, it gave us a chance to really unwind. Recommend the beach at Southern down, not to far to drive, and loads of great sand, rock pools and the walk along the cliff tops is lovely. The hosts were really helpful and free range eggs too, yum !!

Very nice place!!
If you're looking for quietness and rest, than this is the place to be! Beautiful scenery with lots of private space! The tent had all we needed, including a very good shower!! The woodburning stove did miracles during a rainy day. Very friendly hosts! And the hottub just is very pleasant extra experience!

Magnificent
We booked Under the Oak Glamping for our daughter’s 21st birthday. The setting is magnificent with views into the valley and across the estuary. The site accommodates 14 people and with our daughter’s guests visiting from all around the country we booked the whole site. Only 20 minutes drive from Newport station it was easy to get everyone there. The accommodation was excellent and very homely with all mod cons. Outside there was plenty of space with hot tubs and barbecues. The guests had a great time. Richard and Lydia are excellent hosts and I would thoroughly recommend the experience to anyone. It is just one of those things that you are glad you did!

Amazing experience definately to be repeated
This was our first time glamping and what a fantastic time we had! Facilities were spotless and luxurious, the cabin bed was a definite hit as was the fantastic shower. We loved having the pond outside the front of our tent and the young ducklings provided unexpected entertainment. We managed to get the hot tub heated and enjoyed watching the sun go down from it and cooked our evening meal in the fire pit. Very relaxing environment and thoroughly enjoyed our stay, will definitely come back
★★★★★
Beautiful and quiet
Under the Oak is a fantastic spot to have a quiet few days away from everywhere else. Facilities are fantastic (much more of a house than a tent) and the wood fired hot tub is a unique addition that we really loved to use

Wonderful and Peaceful :)
We booked to stay at Under the Oak Glamping at the very last minute! Let’s just say it was the best decision we made, this place is just amazing. We had a great time staying here for 2 nights, it was pure tranquility and were totally shut out from the world and embraced Glamping. The hot tub and the log burner were just perfect. The facilities within the tent were 5*. We will most certainly be returning :):)

ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!
It was the first time Glamping for us and all we can say is WOW and can't wait to come back. We are a family of 3 (2a and 1c who is 15) and it suited us all. The tent was immaculate with a fantastic shower (which is the main thing for me). The hot tub was just such fun with amazing views (perfect for my son) and the BBQ was a perfect setting by the lake with the wood store nearby to stoke up (perfect for my husband). So we all highly recommend and can't wait to experience the place again xx
★★★★★
Wonderful place for a large group!
Recently went to Under the Oak with a group of 13 people. It was great - the height of luxury camping! Flushing loos and hot showers right inside the tents, with hobs and hot water for washing up. Note that if you are planning on going with a big group and want to cook a big meal, you will either need to split up the cooking between tents or bring all 3 (quite heavy) cast iron BBQs together. We combined our strength and managed just fine but just FYI! The hot tubs were amazing, with cup holders built in and plenty of dry area surrounding to put a bluetooth speaker and enjoy the breathtaking views with some good tunes. All in all I can't recommend this place highly enough!

What We Needed.
On arrival we met Lydia who was lovely and answered all the questions we had. The location is beautiful and views are stunning. The Canvas Lodge was spotless, comfy and such a relaxing feel. What a beautiful location. We traveled from Western Australia, to visit family in Cornwall and to experience 'Under the Oak Glamping.' Definitely worth the visit. Sunsets were stunning, visiting farm life were friendly, waking to sunshine each morning too and the hot tub added to a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Tents were comfortable and warm. Enjoyed every minute of our stay.

Lovely relaxing family break.
Lovely hosts. Spotless, warm and comfortable all weather safari tents. Although we were only a few miles from our home it felt like we could have been in Colorado. Beautiful scenery and a lovely family walk with a surprise for the kids at the end - just follow the arrows. Will definitely go back!

Beautiful, Relaxed & Peaceful
To celebrate our 2 year Wedding anniversary Me & my wife took our dog to Wales to stay at Under The Oak Glamping. We had an absolutely fantastic time. The location was stunning and the tub / Glamping was fantastic. The hosts were so helpful and reccomended some fantastic trails for us to do during our stay. Highly recommend!

Lovely luxurious stay
The safari tent that we stayed in has everything we needed, and more. When we arrived the fridge had a little bottle of milk and a pack of Welsh cakes which was a lovely touch. The bedrooms were already made up with lovely thick duvets, and the beds had beautiful fairy lights around the top. The wood burning stove did not disappoint especially when the weather was a bit grim. I loved the finishing touches of the tents, with cosy blankets to drape over legs whilst chilling and reading. The hot tubs were amazing and the views were incredible especially as it turned to dusk. Luckily the rain stopped just enough to cook on the fire pit outside, a lovely piece of kit that my hubby is wanting of his own. Unfortunately we didn't have time to explore the immediate area, but plan to do so in July when we return. Lots of space outside and the tents are nicely spaced out so it feels like you are the only ones there. Very nice break, would definitely recommend. Was originally thinking of going traditional camping but I am so glad I found this place as it took all the stress out of organising a break away. Thank you Richard and Lydia
★★★★★
outstanding glamping experience
Great welcome from Richard & Lydia. Outstanding location with superb views and yet good access to surrounding area. Wonderfully equipped safari tents with everything you could possibly need! This is top end glamping make no mistake. Wood fired hot tubs and BBQ facilities with plenty of space on a real working farm. Absolutely delightful for all ages. Well done Richard & Lydia!

Under the Oak is a lovely isolated spot, perfect for a romantic weekend escape
The cabin, although covered by a canvas, feels worlds away from a camping experience. With a log fire for heat and hot running water it is easy to forget that you're not in a holiday cottage. The hot tub was easy to use and made for a perfect setting to observe the stars on a clear night.
★★★★★
Peaceful and beautiful, the location was amazing
We absolutely loved our stay at Under the Oak, from Lydia’s greeting with a welcome hamper, to the amazing location and safari tent with everything you could need for a brilliant holiday. The tent had such amazing views, was just the right mix of home comforts and an outdoorsy feel and the hot tub added a fun experience being outdoors in the pitch black! It’s also a great location to visit some of the amazing places Wales has to offer including the Brecon Beacons, Southerndown Beach and Ystradfellte waterfalls. We couldn’t have asked for more and have already recommended Under the Oak to all of our friends.

So peaceful and relaxing with amazing views
Our first family Glamping experience. We loved the Safari tent, well equipped and so cosy. Our children loved running around outside having adventures and were so exited to be staying in a Safari tent, it was very relaxing for the grown ups too especially with our very own hot tub and such wonderful views.
