Pure escapism perfection

I came to stay at Strawberry Sky Yurts with my children during the October half term to run away from the Invictus Games were there Dad was competing. After a messy break up I wanted to be anywhere other than at home, and boy did I make the right choice. From the moment I saw Willow Yurt up in the meadow I fell in love, the colours, the detail, the feeling of home when we opened the door. I loved the wood burning stove indoors to keep the chill off the October nights and the ability to build a campfire, an actual campfire without the need for a fire bowl appealed to my inner hippy. Who doesn't love a bush fire TV and the joy on children's faces at toasting a marshmallow or two and making S'mores! The toilets were amazing, I loved the fact that they were as eco friendly as humanly possible and the shower block was lovely and warm and even included a hairdryer, a luxury I was not expecting. Whilst I chose to BBQ during our stay, the kitchen was really well kitted out with hobs and cookers and a fridge for every Yurt so no having to rely on cool boxes here. The name of the site will give you an indication as to the real highlight though, the most wonderful skies on sunset (and actually sunrise during our stay) and we even had the luxury of a full moon which added an even more magical element to our stay. With the site being small it never feels crowded and it's wonderful to give children the luxury of exploration, into the field, up the climbing tree and as mine did making friends with the other children on site and into their yurts. However that experience didn't feel forced and their was also time and space to be alone if that's what was wanted. In essense, pure escapism perfection for me, for my children. As a single mum I felt safe and secure on site and I've already booked to return and hope to recruit friends to enjoy this little slice of perfection!

Strawberry Skys

My partner and I have stayed here twice- once in the large yurt at the top of the field with friends and once in one of the smaller yurts, just us.  Both times the sun shone brightly and we had two amazing, completely relaxing holidays. As it is Wales, you can't always guarentee the weather, but you can guarentee a warm welcome, beautiful views, peace and quiet and a wonderful air of serenity surrounding this place.  The kitchen is well equipped, the yurts are comfortable, warm and pretty, the outdoor wooden benches face the valley and take in the most fabulous views, and you really do come away feeling like you're recharged and the world is a lovely place.  We fully intend to return agains oon.

Strawberry Skys

Wow. Such a lovely site. Eric (the owner) is just such a brilliant bloke and made us feel so welcome. The yurts are really comfy and cosy (although we overheated ours with the fire) and there’s plenty of walking to be done around the area. There’s a fire pit for each yurt with free wood, the kitchen facilities are great and the compost toilets are fine. We loved the place and the owners so much we even left them a present and flowers.
