The Owner Says

The Vintage Railway Guards Van will appeal to railway enthusiasts as well as people looking for a truly unique break as we have kept all it's original features. There is a coal-burning stove, a double "guards bed" 173 cm x 130 cm with a new memory foam topped mattress (which folds away to give more space during the day) an electric oven, grill & hob plus everything that you need for self catering. There is a flat screen wall mounted Freeview TV/DVD. Bring your own bedding or hire ours at a cost of £10 for duvet, 4 pillows, all bed linen, bath towels, hand towels and tea towels. If you hire our bedding we will make up the beds for you.  On the balcony there is a butlers sink with running water and fold-away table and chairs. We provide coal at £5 per scuttle. We will even light the fire for you if you would like us to. We do not permit guests to bring their own coal. You will be given a key for your own shower/WC but please note that it is not located within the carriage. The Guards Van stands on rail at what remains of the old platform so it is like stepping back in time to the age of steam. Charcoal barbecues are permitted provided that they are raised off the ground and can be hired subject to availability. There is pay as you go Wi Fi.  This accommodation is suitable for up to 2 small dogs or one large dog: please do not bring other pets. Check in time is from 2pm till 7.30 pm & check out time is by 10am. Please contact us if you need to arrange a late check-in.
