A 1940's Goods wagon, completely refurbished. Our goods wagon sits on the edge of the llama field with amazing views up Glenshee. It has a large glazed door and has been heavily insulated to provide cosy accommodation for up to 5. Inside are railway vintage mugs and memeorabilia, posters and jigsaws as well as books dating to that period.There is a double bed with linen and 2 bunks with linen plus a smaller pull out bed with linen.

The Owner Says

Approx size is 2.5  X 6.5 M. There is a fire pit outside with seating and inside a wood burning stove. The wagon is off-grid but lit with Led lanterns and candles. There is a standard double bed with all bed linen and 2 bunk beds with linen and a smaller pull out bed with linen. There are knives, forks, spoons plates bowls and mugs, a kettle, as well as books and puzzles. There is a bench with stools. Fair trade tea and coffee and hot chocolate as well as fair trade chocolates and seasonal flowers. The toilet and shower facilities are a few steps away.

There's a billboard at the campsite that picks out many of the best local attractions – gardens, castles, the nearest gin distillery – with the local villages of Pitlochry and Braemar, the best spots for a good mooch around. There's an activity centre (The Blackwater Outdoor Centre – 01738 472236) a couple of miles away and the 103-mile-long Cateran Trail runs nearby, taking in the best of the county's countryside. 

Food & Drink

There is a small but excellent village shop 5 miles away in Kirkton of Glenisla, also home to an atmospheric old coaching inn – Glenisla Hotel (01575 582223).

Family Friendly

Only Scotland does starry nights like this and in this unspoiled patch of Perthshire you can kick back and take it all in. If your kids need space to let off steam and silence to sleep soundly, then you might as well book now.

Getting There

The campsite is on google maps and can be found via SatNav. It is 1 mile off the A93. Take the turning signposted for Blacklunans and head through the village following the clear campsite signage. There is also a campsite sign at the Blacklunans A93 turning itself.

There is a local taxi firm that can offer transport to local restaurants and pubs as well as a drop off/pick up service to Cateran Trail. Further information available at the campsite.
