The Owner Says

This shepherd's hut, with a llama theme, sleeps four with a double bed on a platform (linen provided) and two singles (requiring sleeping bags) which double up as seats for the table between them. The hut is approximately six metres by two metres and has a wood-burning stove inside, and a fire pit outside so you can sit and watch the llamas all day with stunning views up Glenshee in the background.
Towels and organic soap provided along with Fairtrade tea, ground coffee, hot chocolate and chocolate. Garden flowers decorate the hut in season and llama mugs are provided whatever the season! The communal toilet and showers are a short distance away. The campsite's Bothy provides a space for communal cooking, fridge, food storage , drying and local information.

Nearby

There's a billboard at the campsite that picks out many of the best local attractions – gardens, castles, the nearest gin distillery – with the local villages of Pitlochry and Braemar, the best spots for a good mooch around. There's an activity centre (The Blackwater Outdoor Centre – 01738 472236) a couple of miles away and the 103-mile-long Cateran Trail runs nearby, taking in the best of the county's countryside. 

Food & Drink

There is a small but excellent village shop 5 miles away in Kirkton of Glenisla, also home to an atmospheric old coaching inn – Glenisla Hotel (01575 582223).

Family Friendly

Only Scotland does starry nights like this and in this unspoiled patch of Perthshire you can kick back and take it all in. If your kids need space to let off steam and silence to sleep soundly, then you might as well book now.

Getting There

The campsite is on google maps and can be found via SatNav. It is 1 mile off the A93. Take the turning signposted for Blacklunans and head through the village following the clear campsite signage. There is also a campsite sign at the Blacklunans A93 turning itself.

There is a local taxi firm that can offer transport to local restaurants and pubs as well as a drop off/pick up service to Cateran Trail. Further information available at the campsite.
