Shepherd's Hut (1 at Abberton Shepherds Hut)
Handmade entirely from one single ash tree, that blew down on the farm several years ago, although traditional in style in its old orchard setting, it offers offers all the modern comforts of a luxury glamping holiday – plush en-suite facilities, a modern kitchen space and a south facing balcony with beautiful views across the farm
The Owner Says
What really sets Abberton Shepherd’s Hut apart though is the minute details that owner, Catriona Sutherland, has woven into every aspect of the hut. The continuity of the exposed ash wood throughout – the floorboards, the chunky table top, the bathroom shelves – grounds it in the setting, while the décor, crockery and wood-burning stove lend it all a farm-house type feel. On sunny days, enjoying your pre ordered breakfast outside on the balcony is utterly divine, feel free to use your barbeque or light up the firepit to keep warm in the evenings. This particular shepherds hut can sleep up to 4 guests, 2 adults in a double bed and 2 bunks (4ft 9 inches). If the children are bigger they can sleep on a cube mattress with a sleeping bag (also provided). We have WIFI for the shepherds too!
- No pets allowed inside the hut
- Max 2 adults and 2 children in unit

A little gem in a beautiful setting
We arrived in the dark and woke up to snow but we were here to relax and that's exactly what we did. The hut is beautifully decorated. Everything you need is there. The log burner was lit for our arrival which was so welcoming and so cosy. We kept it going for all of our stay. We ordered the breakfast hamper which I highly recommended. The bed was so comfortable and the bathroom facilities also excellent. I can't praise it enough really and we are planning to stay again. The views were amazing and this morning we saw a beautiful sunrise. Thank you Catriona for making our stay so enjoyable. :)
Shepherds hut with a difference!
What a fabulous weekend in a beautiful spot. The shepherds hut was extremely cosy and the extra homely touches made it even more special. Such care and detail throughout and so well equipped too. Everything you need for a brilliant mini break. We loved our breakfast hamper of goodies and would recommend that completely. We were just sad we couldn’t stay an extra day or so to enjoy the hut and it’s surroundings some more! Evie the dog was great company too. Hope to be back soon!
Amazing Shepherds Hut with great views and lovely walks
We had a really lovely couple of days here. The hut is beautiful and equipped with everything you could ever need and has a really fabulous, super-efficient wood burner - we stayed in November and were so cosy. We brought our dog and loved the fact that you can walk right out of the hut. Also has good wi-fi, We'll definitely go back again.
Loved it so much we booked it again for next year!
This is a delightful place to stay and a great base to explore the surrounding counties! We stayed 4 nights during the October half term with our 8yr old daughter. Was cosy and comfortable and had all that we needed to cook a couple of simple meals, with a good sized oven and two electric hobs. Decent sized fridge with ice box. Bathroom was great with a shower. There is a lovely wood burner which despite the wind and rain outside we didn’t need to light as the hut is so well insulated. Whilst we were there we visited Warwick Castle, Stratford upon Avon and a couple of villages in the Cotswolds. The best part without a shadow of a doubt was the daily visits from Evie their gorgeous Border Collie. Our daughter adored her. We loved our stay so much we booked to come again next year whilst we were there!
Cosy, relaxing and perfect.
The shepherds hut is decorated beautifully and had all the amenities we could hope for. We did not want to leave! Breakfast hamper was delicious too with lovely farm shops to visit near by. If you are wanting a relaxing break to escape reality then this is it!
