Glamping West Midlands
UK England West Midlands Staffordshire
For an authentic glamping getaway in the heart of the Staffordshire countryside, Glamping West Midlands is the perfect destination. The stately grounds of the grand Mere Hall set the scene perfectly for a weekend of relaxation. With the sights and sounds of rampant wildlife filling the reinvigorating country air, the centre-piece of this idyll is undoubtedly the farm’s tranquil lake. The surrounding smallholding is home to a whole host of convivial critters including sheep, cows, geese, chickens and llamas – yes, llamas!
The beautifully crafted twin Mongolian yurts which call this site home are kitted out with comfort in mind. The wood burning stove turns this into a cosy nest of loveliness while the air vent prevents things from getting too stuffy. Affable campsite proprietor, Chris Armstrong, is happily on hand in the evenings to make sure your stay is completely hassle-free. Her carefully put-together welcome pack includes all the essentials for your stay.
Should you need any other bits and bobs or advice on places to visit (of which there are countless - this is the Midlands remember!), just give Chris a shout. And with just two yurts on site, you’re free to enjoy your new nest in perfect peace and quiet (bar the odd bleating llama!).

Facilities
There's plenty of friendly farmyard animals to pet and play with. The herd of fluffy llama's can't have escaped your notice—the kids can get up close & personal with the llamas and other friendly animals. The yurts sit atop decking on which you'll also find a private seating area and barbeque. Inside, the yurts are fully-equipped for a hassle-free holiday. There is a double bed and two daybeds. If additional airbeds are required they are also available at a modest charge. Bed linen, duvets, pillows and towels are all provided. As with the traditional Mongolian yurts, there's no electricity inside but lighting is provided by enchanting fairy lights and lanterns. The wood burning stove will keep things nice and cosy and your first bag of logs are complimentary. Chris also provides a welcome pack consisting of milk, tea, coffee (camping stove kindly provided) matches, sugar, matches, toilet rolls. Each yurt also has its own cold water supply. The facilities block is just a short walk away and boasts hot showers, electricity points and also a fridge/freezer.
Suitable For
Glamping couples, families, groups—yes. Sorry, no dogs allowed due to the animals on the adjacent smallholding.Nearby
The high heath and woodland escarpment of Kinver Edge is just 4 miles west of Stourbridge. This history is positively hued into the rock of this popular beauty spot and tourist attraction. There are two Iron Age hill forts here as well as the last surviving troglodyte dwellings in England. These remarkably well-preserved cave houses were occupied up until the 1950s. Local legend has it that the enchanting hermitages provided the inspiration for one the region's most famous son's, J.R.R. Tolkien, when conjuring his iconic Hobbiton. The industrial heritage of the region is vividly brought to life at the Black Country Museum and Ironbridge Gorge Museum. To see the best of the local wildlife, Highgate Common is abuzz with fascinating insects and vibrant flora—little wonder then it's a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest. If shopping is on your agenda, the Bridgnorth Saturday Markets and Birmingham Bull ring are both within driving distance. If you're visiting around early September, be sure to check out the Ludlow Castle food festival.
Food & Drink
The Fox in nearby Stourton serves up some decent pub grub. If you fancy pushing the boat out, The Six Ashes in Bobbington serves refined and innovative cusine, making excellent use of the best in Black Country produce. Speaking of local delicacies, why not stick some famously tasty Staffordshire beef steaks on your barbeque back at camp? The Red Lion pub and hotel in Bobbington is a family-friendly country residence that serves up great modern cuisine and also has a large children's playground and beer garden.

Fabulous
Response from Glamping West Midlands
Made to feel so welcome!
Terrible
Response from Glamping West Midlands
I'm sorry Kieran felt he had such a poor experience. It's a shame he didn't discuss any of these issues with me at the time of his stay in July.
There has never been a house party as all of the barns owners are elderly and not within earshot of the site!
I am never rude and certainly wouldn't swear at my paying guests!
I have never advertised a private hot tub. There is a hot tub that I clean out daily and allocate each guest a daily slot.
I do not allow dogs other than my own on my site as I have a collection of rare breed animals. My guests and their children regularly ask for my dogs to play with them as they are extremely friendly, as my reviews will show. If Kieran's partner was allergic to dogs it would have been useful to inform me and I would have kept them in.
Excellent escape
Amazing weekend
Great last minute booking and a great weekend
A Fantastic Break
Wonderful Weekend
Our family of 2 adults and 2 children stayed in one of these wonderful yurts for 3 nights. Everything was provided for us (just bring food and drink) Beautiful setting. So many lovely animals and birds, felt like I was on a little safari. Great pubs nearby. The owners are close by and were very friendly and helpful. For someone that doesn't do camping, I can't wait to go back!
Beautiful, country break
