The Owner Says
These 5 metre deluxe bell tents are fabulously roomy. At 12' high in the centre, there's plenty of wiggle room, and with a massive 5 metre diameter, they provide a palatial pad for two, a perfect nest for a couple's retreat and plentiful room for the whole family.
If you're new to bell tent camping, the benefits are not just in size. Camping under natural cotton canvas is a completely different sleeping experience to the standard polyester tent. No waking up feeling parched and sweaty. The breathable nature of the material, together with the four big vents the tents have, means you are actually sleeping in the fresh air. The vents and the main door have a separate bug screen, allowing the air to circulate through the tent, which all in all is very conducive to a good night's rest.
You will also have a wood burning stove in your fully furnished tent, everything you'll need for cooking and eating, a fire pit and BBQ as well as good footpath access if you want to walk to the local pub.

About Amber's Bell Tent Camping at Hopton Court Estate
Glamping only. Dogs not permitted – there are kennels (01299 270394) just under a mile away. Large groups, corporate hire, birthday celebrations and (chilled out) stag and hen gatherings available by prior arrangement.
The Hopton Court Estate covers some 1800 acres, playing host to various events – from folk festivals to fitness events (see their website for full details) – with plenty of footpaths to explore. On the edge of the Shropshire Hills, the estate also offers direct access onto Catherton Common and the Clee Hills – Titterstone Clee, in particular, is a prominent landmark round these parts and well worth a ramble to the top for views over Worcestershire, Shropshire, Herefordshire and as far as the Black Mountains. For family-friendly routes, the Wyre Forest National Nature Reserve offers cycling trails and more accessible walking routes or, to really take it easy, ride the vintage steam train from nearby Bewdley on the Severn Valley Railway (and hike back along the Severn Valley Country Park). Mountain biking, climbing, fishing, canoeing and wild swimming are all possible too, while, for culture, Ludlow town is a treasure trove – antique stores, boutiques and a fantastic reputation for food – with Ludlow Castle (01584 873355) overlooking it all. The town is host to a number of festival events annually, including a gourmet food festival (01584 873957) in September, while the tiny market town of Cleobury Mortimer, just 2½ miles down the road, also boasts fine cuisine, with 6 different pubs and a brewery, Hobsons. It also has a bank, pharmacy, petrol station, Post Office and all the essential amenities, plus a charming, 12th-century church with a famously crooked spire.
Food & Drink
It's a 10-minute walk through the estate grounds to the Hopton Crown (01299 270372). Family-friendly and with a small but decent beer garden, this 16th century coaching inn was refurbished in 2018 and has a good focus on all things local, with several real ales on tap from Wye Valley and Ludlow breweries (try the Ludlow Gold or the Wye Valley Butty Bach to be a real local). The pub is open every day and food is served daily (though not until 6pm on Mondays and Tuesdays). Occasional live music. Free WiFi.
Amber's Bell Tent Camping at Hopton Court Estate is located at The Riddings, Woodhouse Road, Hopton Wafers, Shropshire, DY14 0JL
Hopton Court Estate is situated just off the A4117 in Hopton Wafers, just west of Cleobury Mortimer, between Kidderminster and Ludlow. Leave the A4117 at the turning next to the Hopton Crown pub. Follow this road for ½ mile and you will see Hopton Court on your right, about 100m after crossing a bridge. Do not turn in to the main hall but continue on, passing the house and you will see signs for The Riddings. Follow these to Amber's Bell Tent Camping.
The nearest train stations are in Kidderminster and Ludlow. From there take bus number 292 or 2L (the same numbers from both stations just heading in the opposite direction) to Cleobury Mortimer, hopping off at the bus stop opposite the Hopton Crown pub. It's a short walk from the pub to the glamping site.
