The Owner Says

We believe in simplicity, but rest assured you will not be sacrificing luxury when staying in our canvas lodges. At 45m2, our spacious lodges are placed in stunning locations and will meet your need for modern comfort and craving to be close to nature. The Canvas Lodge is suitable for 6 people, 5 adults and 1 child up to 12 years old. Our interior features a fully equipped kitchen with a wood-stove, a living/dining area, outdoor area with BBQ, and three sleeping areas with high-quality mattresses, pillows, bedding and fluffy duvets!

We are all about getting back to the simpler times away from technology and to reconnect with nature and therefore do not have electricity and wi-fi in any of our farms.

Imagine having your own private outdoor shower

If you’re a nature lover, there is nothing quite sensational as showering in the midst of nature. Located right next to your tent is where you will find our wooden, rustic private outdoor shower. The illuminated oil lamps and the sky view from the top opening will make your shower much more magical and capture the essence of what we call the “feather down feeling”. Grab your towels and recharge yourself with a warm shower and truly be one with nature. Whether it’s in the morning or after a long day of adventure, this will surely be an experience you will never forget.

About Moor Farm

Suitable For

Glampers only, couples, families, groups, well-behaved dogs on leads (max two per tent) – yes. Campervans, caravans, tents – no.

There is a cycle trail that runs around the farm starting a five-minute walk from the tents down to the canal where there is a small boat to paddle about in. Fishing is also permitted. Once a big trade route, the river is now quiet and used only by smaller leisure boats. Follow it west to the beautiful Severn Estuary, excellent for wildlife spotting – The Slimbridge Wetland Reserve is particularly close at hand. The historic county town of Gloucester is six miles away – the cathedral (01452 528095) is a must. The edge of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is even closer with lots of pretty villages, country inns and countryside to explore.

Food & Drink

Breakfast hampers are available from the campsite at an extra charge (booked direct, in advance). There's no shortage of pubs nearby – there are 10 within a four mile radius and that's without including Gloucester! The closest, though, are those down by the river, The Anchor Inn (01452 740433) has a garden overlooking the water, while The Ship Inn (01452 740260) is a beautiful gastro pub with a similarly stunning location.

Getting There

Leave the M5 at junction 13 and take the A38 northbound, signposted to Gloucester. After a mile-and-a-half, turn left into Church Lane, opposite Downtons Transport, which is unhelpfully signposted for 'Moreton Valence Church Only'. Follow for bout a mile to the end of the lane where the farm driveway starts, follow it to the farmhouse.

The closest train station to site is Stonehouse, five miles away. From there a taxi would be necessary to take you to site and would have to be booked in advance as there is no taxi rank.
