The Owner Says
Daisy offers comfort and relaxation with a double bed, futons, rugs and soft Cotswolds sheepskins to keep you warm. The woodburner and drinks making facilities add to the comfort and you will have a great view over the small holding and Cotswold hills beyond. Daisy is sited closest to the bathroom block.
Daisy is an 18ft sand coloured yurt, fully equipped with a double bed and linen for a great nights sleep. Extra beds are in the form of futons that will be made up ready for your arrival. We have provided a 2 ring gas burner, cafetieres and cups in the yurt for making your morning brew. Fairy lights add to the relaxed atmosphere and the woodburner is very efficient at keeping you warm - the throws and blankets will make sure you stay snug. We provide a solar box/battery from which you can run lights and recharge your phones/tablets. You will have your own campfire area and use of the 'kotlich' which stands over the campfire and can be used to make soups/stews and as a grill/bbq plate. We encourage you to cook outdoors rather than inside the yurts and provide a covered area for eating. In high season we will host weekly pizza nights - just let us know if you wish to take part (small cost per person to cover wood and ingredients).
You will have your own bathroom a short distance away which has an electric shower, flushing loo and sink. This will be yours to use throughout your stay so you can leave your belongings in there. The utilities room (in the same block) offers food storage areas, fridges and washing up facilities. Loo rolls, soap, washing up liquid will be provided. A generous amount of wood will be provided upon arrival with further logs available to buy.
About Campden Yurts
Suitable ForWe are a Glamping site only. We do not take campers with tents, campervans or caravans.
There are so many things to do and enjoy around Chipping Campden and North Gloucestershire. The scenery and landscape, the small market towns and pretty villages. We have National Trust properties, gardens, arboretums, castles and a palace all within the Cotswolds.
One place to visit for a great day out is Adam Henson's (of BBC Countryfile fame) Cotswold Farm Park. Take a tractor safari around the farm, see the rare breeds and feed the lambs/kids. A little bit further afield near Burford is the Cotswold Wildlife Park with giraffes, rhinos, hippos and other animals. Both attractions are great for families.
For many, simply exploring the pretty Cotswold villages is the main attraction. Easy but pleasant footpaths link most villages together. The small market town of Chipping Campden is just a 15 minute walk from our glamping site. It has plenty of English pubs, independent shops, tearooms, bistros, galleries and a museum. The main Church – St. James – is a wool church and is famed for having one of the oldest altar tapestries (pre-Reformation) and largest brass works in England. Campden's high street is famously pretty but unusual – long, broad and flanked on each side by an almost unbroken single terrace of varied architectural styles. You can read more is our blog. Broadway, Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton-on-the-Water are a short drive away, as well as Stratford-upon-Avon and Oxford, a little further.
Food & Drink
Our glamping site is well equipped for self-catering (and campsite cooking). All you need from pots, pans, colanders, graters, chopping boards etc are all here. You can also buy homemade jams, marmalades & chutneys. Seasonal produce (when available) including tomatoes, plums and apples. Breakfast hampers stuffed with farmshop goodies can be pre-ordered.
In Chipping Campden there are a number of tea-rooms, 7 pubs/hotels and restaurants. These include The Eight Bells, The Lygon and The Noel Arms who host award-winning curry nights. Great cakes and light lunches can be enjoyed at The Bantam tea-rooms, Campden Coffee Company and The Badgers. Chipping Campden also offers shops including the Co-Op, One Stop and a meat/fish and greengrocers along with 2 delicatessens. Chinese and Indian take-aways available too. Both local farm shops sell local produce and have cafes.
We host regular Pizza Parties on site for our guests. We provide homemade dough and sauce - you just bring your toppings of choice. These are great fun, interactive and tasty! Just let Jane know in advance/upon arrival if you would like to have a pizza party during your stay,
