A luxurious en-suite yurt nestled amongst rolling Dorset hills and just a stones throw from Bridport and the Jurassic Coast

The Owner Says

Skylark is a luxurious en-suite hand crafted yurt. Inside you'll find a Vispring super king bed, luxurious bedding, linen and towels. With bedside lights, fairy lights around the perimeter and a dual control electric blanket - we have added all the little extra details to make it a truly luxurious and magical experience. Sleeping in a round space with cascading roof poles and stargazing through the rooflight is magical!

There's a log burner to quickly heat the whole yurt, together with a dining table, sofa, chest of drawers and chairs.

The beautifully hand crafted en-suite bathroom is the epitome of rustic luxury. Clad in cedar from a neighbouring wood with a piping hot shower, flushing toilet, sink with hot and cold mains drinking water, heated towel rail and complementary organic toiletries – we have thought of everything.

Outside is a huge larch clad deck with dining table – perfect for al fresco breakfast, lunch or dinner, soaking in the beautiful views over our ancient apple orchard, across the valley and out over some of Dorset's finest countryside.

Next to the deck is your own Kadai firebowl area for campfires, bbq’s and cooking over fire.

Skylark has its own Kitchen Yurt with a fridge freezer, gas range hob, sink with hot and cold mains drinking water and all crockery, cutlery, cups, glasses and cooking utensils you should need - some guests cook extravagant meals, others just chill their bubbles... either way you should have everything you need!

Before you arrive we will fill your log basket with dried logs, kindling and firelighters. Further supplies of logs and kindling can be purchased on site if required.

You are welcome to use our wood fired hot tub during your stay. We fill it with fresh water each time and clean it thoroughly after each use meaning we don’t have to use any nasty chemicals. It costs £35 per day and we get it all ready for you. It's the perfect daytime activity to while away the hours in the beautiful Dorset countryside or for an evening of relaxation and stargazing!

We host pizza evenings around our wood fired pizza oven, serving up mouthwateringly good pizzas using homegrown and local ingredients on Tuesdays and Saturdays. We may be able to host a pizza evening on different days - please just get in touch. The cost is £15 for adults and £7.50 for children.

Beyond the Farm..

To the east, you walk through meadows and over bridges to Loscombe Nature Reserve, a haven for birdlife, while to the west there’s the Half Moon pub, an equally short wander away. South, meanwhile, Dorset’s epic Jurassic Coast unfurls before you; it’s a 10-minute drive in the car – and then there’s the vibrant town of Bridport that stops you along the way.

An absolute must!!

Seriously where can we start. Tranquil, Peaceful, private. The yurts and grounds are just beautiful! Spotlessly clean. The most beautiful town to visit and so much to do. Lovely atmosphere with added touches such as a pizza night for those who wish to join. This was a lovely way to have a relaxed evenings entertainment and it had a real little community feel to it with the other guests. Our little one LOVED it, he made lovely friends there and enjoyed playing with them and seeing the Animals. I just hope we get to visit again one day. Well worth the journey. Thanks again guys x

A naturally peaceful escape

This site is like a little oasis, I loved it here. I was greeted by Molly upon arriving at her farm and that night happened to be home-made pizza night which was a telling introduction as to what Walnut Farm is like. I beautiful Yurt kitted out with all the amenities you could need, the separate kitchen yurt was idyllic (not to mention the addition of a tea station in the sleeping yurt is stroke of genius). I had everything I could possibly need, the hot tub was glorious on a slightly chilly evening as the sun goes down. The wood burning stove enhanced the warm and comforting atmosphere. I hiked up the nearby hill for sunrise and was not disappointed with a stunning view over the Dorset hills as the red sun appeared. The beaches are close by which was a bonus for me and my wild swimming habit! This place is incredible and I could not have wished for a better couple of nights to take my mind away from day to day work life! THANK YOU!

Completely awesome campsite.

Walnut farm glamping was perfect! We stayed 3 nights with our 3 children (4yr, 2yr and 1yr) and loved it. The campsite is so beautiful and incredible peaceful, set in rolling hills with stunning views. Our yurt, Pippin, was beautifully set-up with beds for the two boys and we had our 1 year old in a travel cot. Outside temperature was cold at night but with the log burner going and the electric blanket on the bed we were all toasty, just had to get the log burner going as soon as we woke up! The hot tub was immense and the surroundings were completely stunning. Really easy to drive to local fossil beaches and some fantastic walks and great local pubs. Molly and Nick and their girls were so welcoming and helpful and we will definitely be back. If you're reading this I'd just go ahead and book, now.

A great way to enjoy the great Autumn outdoors

We had a lovely few days. Skylark was lovely - the en-suite and electric blankets making a massive difference during wet, windy weather! Highly recommend the pizza and hot tub (with a view!) too. Great location, great way to escape en famille. Some excellent tips from Billy too - we really enjoyed a walk over to Mapperton for lunch and a Halloween trail.
