Lovely relaxing stay in beautiful surroundings

Our family of 5 had a fantastic stay at Bloomfield. The yurts are each set on a very large individual plot and are private, spacious and well equipped for a comfortable stay. The private kitchen/eating area makes camp cooking much easier, especially in variable weather, stocked with utensils, oven and ample room for storage. The facilities block is well maintained- toilets, hot showers and washing up facilities with some nice touches such as a shared fridge and freezer, hair dryer and hair straighteners and lockable chests for charging phones etc.. Ample space for children to play and explore- football area, trampoline, mud kitchen, swing-ball, pond area with hammocks... The small, on-site honesty shop was well stocked with essentials plus a few treats and had good free wi-fi to keep out 13 year old happy! We had some fun days out from this site- Dorset Adventure park was great fun, a visit to Lulworth cove and surrounding areas, local circular walk around nearby villages and up Hambledon Hill. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this site- felt like we’d stumbled across a real gem!! The site is large enough that they could have chosen to fit double the number of yurts into this space but so pleased they have chosen space and privacy over numbers!! Thanks so much for our stay x

Excellent Eco glamping site, perfect for families and social distanced break

We loved our stay here, we chose it to have a quiet socially distanced holiday in a family bubble. We wanted somewhere where the kids could play and roam free, and we didn’t need to leave the site to keep them entertained. It was much better than expected- the kids play area and nature area are well thought through and they all had the freedom to enjoy a magic adventure together. Also very relaxing and enjoyable for the adults- as we watched them on the trampoline from the campfire or joined them in the hammocks in the nature area. This is a well designed and well maintained off grid site, with abundance of planting for a diverse natural habit and privacy between yurts. Facilities are very good and we hope to come back again soon. Thanks Jo and Stuart for a lovely friendly and safe place to stay.

Beautiful, relaxing environment with everything you need, Yurts and facilities were brilliant! Owners welcoming and friendly!

The owners Jo and Stuart (and their children) were all so welcoming and friendly, they sorted out a few minor issues quickly and made you feel nothing was a problem, but also made you feel that your stay was not being over looked either! The surroundings were amazing, orchards, mature trees, ponds, walkways that you would lead to hidden parts of the campsite! Everything was provided for! from ice blocks to children activities (inside and out) a lovely little honesty shop and more (even umbrellas). We went as a large group taking up all the yurts and bell tent so it was absolutely perfect for our stay! We all want to go back asap!

Beautiful, private glamping

We stayed in the bell tent which occupies its own small area by the pond. The kitchen hut was set up with everything we needed and each hut has a fire pit with cooking grill. The showers were clean and of a good size - no problem with trying to get dressed without touching the damp walls! I would say it was peaceful but the friendly peacocks made sure that wasn't the case! 😉 This would be a great place to come with kids.

Getting There

From the A350, take the exit to Child Okeford. From the village centre, with the shop and the Bakers Arms pub on your left hand side proceed ahead, taking the right hand turn after the war memorial on your right hand side. Follow this road for approximately half a mile passing the Doctors Surgery and Oasis Plant Centre on your left hand side. Carry on for another 400 metres or so and there is a left hand turn into Common Drove. The best indicator of this is a white house opposite on the right hand side, next to the road. Drive 300 yards down Common Drove and we are situated at the bottom of the lane on the right hand side.

Nearest train station is Gillingham, 10 miles away. Infrequent bus service.
