Luxury glamping with supreme stargazing, just south of Dartmoor and 25 minutes from the Devon coast

Book a stay at Dartmoor Domes and you'll swap your bedroom ceiling for a canopy of stars. Tucked in a little meadow that’s surrounded by trees in deepest, darkest Devon, these geodesic domes offer a window into the natural world. The skylight in the roof lets you stargaze while you lay in bed and the huge picture windows let you spy on deer passing by.

It’s all about being comfortably cocooned in nature at Dartmoor Domes, which sits just south of the national park and 10 miles from the nearest beaches. On arrival it seems appropriate that you leave the car behind and walk 150 metres through a woodland and over a stream before finding the site’s four domes. Each sits on its own wooden deck, like a bubble that’s floated in and landed there. The reality, of course, was more hard work than that. A labour of love by owner James, who carried every piece of the puzzle into site and constructed somewhere to stay so his glamping guests don’t have to.

The domes are insulated and inside have made-up beds and a log burner to keep things cosy. Outside there’s a little kitchen cabin and a solar shower on your deck with your own private toilet just a few steps away. Sit outside and from this sheltered low-point in the land, you can see alpacas grazing in the fields that rise up behind you and hear woodpeckers tap, tap, tapping in the trees. The site is bathed in sun from mid-morning until sundown and if you get too hot, the tinkling stream which passes by each dome offers a place to cool hot feet (or drinks).

From this location in south west Devon, Dartmoor and the coast hold equal appeal; one an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the other a National Park. It was a love of these outdoor spaces that kept James and his wife Em coming on holiday to Devon year after year, until they decided to stay. It’s the wild open moorland that James says he loves the most but, then again, there’s that particularly spectacular stretch of the South West Coast Path. And don’t forget those stars; so dazzling, he put a window in the roof so you wouldn't miss them as you drift off to sleep.

Suitable For

Glampers, couples, families and groups (by prior arrangement) – yes. Campers, campervans, motorhomes, caravans, hen and stag parties, dogs – no.

The south west edge of Dartmoor National Park is just a couple of miles away and the area is great for walking, river swimming and taking in this unique landscape. There are many outdoor activities, including great cycling, diving, climbing, surfing, swimming, scuba diving and sailing on the Devon and southern Cornish coast. The Drake's Trail cycle route passes close by site linking Tavistock to the north and Plymouth to the south. To reach it you pass through Cann Wood, less than a mile from Dartmoor Domes, and worth a visit in its own right for mountain bikers and walkers. For coastal walks, head for the well-signposted South West Coast Path, perhaps heading out from Bovisand Beach (10 miles from Dartmoor Domes). The stunning National Trust beach at Wembury is a beautiful spot for time on the beach and about the same distance, while, for surf, you'll need to head to Bantham, 20 miles away. It's only a 20-minute drive from your dome to the historic waterfront city of Plymouth, where there's all sorts of entertainment, including harbour boat tours and the National Marine Aquarium (0844 893 7938). Further afield the Eden Project (01726 811972), and Tintagel Castle are absolute musts while you're in the South West, both are a little over an hour's drive away.

Food & Drink

The closest place to get a bite to eat out is less than a mile away at The Farmyard Cafe (07711 583985), a slightly ramshackle little place that welcomes dog walkers, horseriders and offers a great-value menu of fry ups, burgers and, of course, cream teas. For the closest pub, you'll have to travel further. The Skylark Inn (01822 853258) is four miles away; a short drive or a long walk (uphill there, downhill back). And if you want a special meal out while you're on holiday, book in at The Moorland Hotel (01752 839228), three miles from Dartmoor Domes. If you're catering for yourself, you can stock up on local goodies at the Cornwood Store and Tearoom (01752 878885), five miles from site, or the recommended farm shop at Endsleigh Garden Centre (01752 895533), 10 miles away. Plymouth, with all its supermarkets, shops and eateries, is just eight miles away for anything more.

Getting There

From the A38 Devon Expressway, head towards Plympton on the B3416. After about two miles, you reach a roundabout with a right turn towards Lee Moor. This is the B3417 Strode Road. Continue following signs for the B3417 for three miles until a left hand turn, where you'll see a signpost for Portworthy. Take this road and follow for half a mile until you find Dartmoor Domes on your left.

Reaching the site by public transport is not easy and a car is recommended. The closest railway station is Plymouth (eight miles away). From there you would need to take a taxi but it would be sensible to call and book in advance to check availability and pricing.

Such a special place, the perfect getaway!

We spent a wonderful weekend at Dartmoor Domes with our kids, 5 and 3yrs old. We were warmly welcomed on our arrival by Tim, who loaded up a wheelbarrow with our bags and showed us down the woodland path to our dome. We had chosen Hound Tor as it was down the far end and gave us a good amount of privacy, with plenty space for the kids to play. The stream trickled along beside it with woodland reaching up the hill, where 2 hammocks had been hung, hidden away for the adventurous to discover. The kids enjoyed exploring this area and paddling in the water, and it felt nicely secluded and private, even with guests staying in the other domes. You can tell great care and though has been put into designing the layout; our dome was beautifully furnished with a luxurious king sized bed, bunk beds for the kids, seats in the large window looking out over the stream, and a wood burner. Bunting gave it a homely feel, and we were especially touched by Emma's homemade birthday cake, balloons and decorations for our son's birthday. Outside, we had our own double hammock, 2 rocking sun loungers and a swing ball. The kitchen was stocked with all the cutlery and utensils we could need, plus a s'mores and hot chocolate kit, and even a can squirty cream in the fridge! The bathroom was clean, well maintained and stocked with shower supplies. We loved having our own firepit, which we lit each evening and sat around enjoying the peaceful night sky and roasting marshmallows, hearing the owls hooting. The kids were excited to feed the alpacas and horses, and Tim was very informative about the animals. Some of the most hospitable hosts we've met, they struck the perfect chord of friendly and available, whilst giving guests their space, and always seeming happy to talk or answer a question. Thank you Tim, James, Emma and the team, we had a really fantastic stay and hope to come again next year!

Thank you Stephen and family. We are so pleased you enjoyed your time here, and thank you for leaving such a lovely review.
Genuinely they mean so much to us, and we all love reading them!
Thank you

Out of this world, i would recommend this experience to anyone! So relaxing and the hosts couldnt have been more welcoming / nice!

This takes Glamping to another level, we stayed from Friday evening through till Monday morning. We couldn't have felt more at home in 'our' little Dome. James, Em, Tim and (Tims wife, sorry i didn't catch your name) are some of the nicest people you could meet. Nothing was too much bother for any of them, they really made us feel welcome but without being pushy or encroaching. We got to feed the Alpaca's and horse which were on site and this just added to the enjoyment of the holiday. James even offered to drop us into Plymouth when we struggled getting cab and wouldn't take money for it. (We fortunately managed to get one booked but still the gesture was great). Every need was met, from a cold fridge to house food and beers to a piping hot shower with great pressure. We certainly will be looking to come back. Its an amazing way to unwind and get in touch with nature.

Response from Dartmoor Domes

Thanks for such a kind review Richard. We are really pleased you loved getting back into nature, and you definitely win the award for the best laid fire pit !

Perfect for a staycation… even the weather didn’t put a dampener on things!

It was lovely to enjoy the countryside, just 20 minutes from the town. And the lack of phone signal was an added bonus! We finished many evenings by the camp fire and even saw a deer wandering through the camp on a moonlight stroll. James, Tim and co were lovely and friendly, with tips for the local area.

Response from Dartmoor Domes

Thanks Esther, we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay. As we have headed into the autumn we are seeing more and more of the deer now, and the stags are becoming quite noisy at night time! Hope they didn't keep you awake

Made so easy,.

Great hosts, everything you need and more. Would highly recommend. Beautiful setting.

So many good things to say about this place

We just came back after a week’s stay in one of the domes. I have to say, this is some of the best service we have ever received on a holiday, nothing was too much for James, Tim and the rest of the family. They were always available to help and answer questions. This is far from camping; a proper king size bed with stunning mattress, bunk beds with great mattresses for the kids, beds pre made (small extra cost but so worth it for not having to pack bedding in the car), wood burner in the dome to keep us warm at night, kitchen with gas burners, fridge, all crockery, mugs, glasses, pots & pans and cutlery provided, instant running hot water for the kitchen and bathroom sinks as well as the shower (was a little disappointed at our shower when we got home compared to this one) I would highly recommend this place, great location, great facilities and great service. Looking forward to going back in 2022.

Fabulous experience to enjoy with family and friends

Serene, sublime, superb...these are just some of the words to describe the experience you get when staying at Dartmoor Domes. We have just had the most wonderful week of adventures in and around south Devon with Dartmoor Domes as our base. We had friends staying in the next dome along as well. It has set the bar for a whole new level of holiday experiences that is sure to become a trail blazer in this market! Much better than camping or glamping because everything was private to just our dome - even our fire pit, hammocks and space to explore! Everyone could have time to themselves as well as enjoy socialising around the campfire, exploring the stream and woods or having a shared meal using the fantastic facilities. * Compost toilets - excellent, and private to your dome. * Bathroom / shower - lovely and fresh, with hot water whenever you needed it for as long as you needed it (no showers tokens here!!), hooks for everything, mirror, shelves and towel airers, a very well thought out set up! * Kitchen - great arrangement to ensure that you have all you need either to use daily or for light use, including a BBQ and complimentary hot chocolate and s'mores kit! Loved that there was also a cafetière! * Dome - just wonderful, none of the downsides of camping and all of the plus sides and many more! Each dome has it own log-burner, solar powered fan, lights and battery for charging a phone up overnight. The beds were so comfy and warm and those mattresses are heavenly! * Location is spot on. We explored local beaches, forests, rivers and cycle trails, the city of Plymouth and also further afield into Cornwall to the Eden project and Tintagel Castle. We never had to venture further than 90mins in a car and many days could be enjoyed without using the car at all, just our bikes. Finally, the care and hospitality from James, Em, Tim and the family was priceless and just so lovely. An awesome adventure for all - book it!

Fantastic and very well thought through!

I took my two sons aged 10 and 12 here for 4 nights at the beginning of August and we had a great time. The photos seriously do not do this place justice, the grounds the domes are set in are amazing and the domes themselves are very comfortable and everything has been thought through extremely well for the needs of everyone. I thought we would eat out most nights but the facilities provided were so good it was more fun to stay in at the domes using the bbq, fire pit and kitchen whilst having some beers and wine! I will be returning again definitely for sure. Thanks to all the staff at the domes too, a great family run business and nothing was too much trouble. I would recommend people of all ages staying here and not just families, it would be lovely for couples too wanting a quiet break away together. Thanks again. Andy

Response from Dartmoor Domes

Thanks Andy, we are delighted you all enjoyed your stay. Our lad Seb is really missing your boys!!!

Beautiful, peaceful and relaxing

We absolutely loved our stay in the Great Staple Dome at Dartmoor Domes. The setting is so beautiful and peaceful with the sound of the stream and being amongst the trees. The dome itself is brilliant - such a unique place to stay so it felt really special. The beds are really comfy and we spent hours sitting, reading in front of the big window in the dome - we had a few rainy days so the indoor seating area was brilliant for relaxing and reading. One advantage of feeling really off grid was no mobile signal so plenty of time to read and play games together. We only really used the kitchen once to make a meal but it was everything we needed. The bathroom was great too and we even got used to the composting toilet! The firepit for our dome was up a little path so it felt like a real adventure going up to it to toast our marshmallows amongst the greenery. The area was fab too. We enjoyed a meal at The Skylark Inn, recommended by the hosts, and also fish and chips from the chippy in the village nearby. Really liked Royal William Yard as well for food and we had a stand-up paddleboarding lesson there too. Some beautiful beaches around the area as well. All in all we had a great stay at Dartmoor Domes and would definitely recommend a stay there if you want some real relaxation and off grid time together as a family.

Family adventure

We had never camped/glamped as a family before and this was an excellent way in! The domes are so well equipped with everything we needed and ours hosts were there if ever we need them. The dome was so clean and welcoming with excellent attention to detail. Our young boys enjoyed paddling in the stream, cooking s’mores over the camp fire and being in the countryside. It was so helpful having suggestions from the hosts about local places to visit and local playgrounds. A real adventure for all of us and one we hope to repeat in the future! Thank you so much!

Response from Dartmoor Domes

Becky thank you for such a lovely review. We are all really pleased you and your family enjoyed your first taste of glamping.

Idyllic location, great hosts and all you need.

Family glamping at it's best! The owners are super friendly and helpful, they provided everything required for a great stay. We stayed as a family of four in Haytor (7yr boy/5yr girl), the domes are very comfortable and the facilities are well equipped. The domes sit on a beautiful meadow and we found that the kids were perfectly entertained having just as much fun playing in the stream as heading out and about! Easy access to the moor, coast and shops. If you book with children and you think you have packed enough clothes and shoes....think again! Take extra...the kids will get wet!

Really pleased you all enjoyed your stay. Thank you for leaving a review

Could not ask for more

Echoing the experience of others, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the domes. The domes themselves are amazing and huge inside and the setting of the domes in amongst the trees with crystal clear stream running through is very idyllic. The facilities ensure this in no way feels like camping with full kitchen, utensils, covered seating area, hot shower, BBQ and fire pit etc. The little touches are perfectly thought out including s'mores and hot chocolate on arrival, huge wheel barrows to get your bags down the path, courtesy umbrellas, solar lights, hammock, towels, bedding (and Emma mattress!) and shampoo and much more. The guys were very helpful and friendly and gave loads of brilliant recommendations of things to do including a local guided canoe trip, walking routes and beach recommendations. Our favourite day out though was the simplest playing in the river at Cadover Bridge. Our children were even taken up to see the animals on site one day which they loved. We have camped and glamped a lot over the years and Dartmoor Domes is definitely up there with the best we have been too. Highly recommended and we would definitely go again.

Response from Dartmoor Domes

Thanks James and family we are really pleased you enjoyed your stay.
We haven’t seen any family pack so much into a week. Made us feel exhausted watching all your adventures.

Glamping and then some

First time camping experience for my little boy, Chose Dartmoor Domes as it was close to home, with him being asthmatic. First off, I was very impressed with the whole experience. Booking was easy, and plain. No hunting through small print to find all the pieces you need. Quick response, and updates near time, with a catch up message the day before arrival to check on ETA. The welcoming committee was great and very welcoming, and the introduction to the site and our dome was comprehensive. Talking of comprehensive, the dome and kit provided are really excellent. It is really a turn up and live type experience, (oh, you could do with some of your own food though!). So many small touches that I wouldn't have expected, including the bodywash and shampoo, and the solar lights in the dome and other areas. A virtually fully equipped kitchen, and a hot water shower? Bliss. Some lovely places to eat nearby, including the recommended Farm Kitchen just up the road, not haute cuisine, but definitely good food, freshly cooked. Depending on your tastes their are a lot of places within easy reach to visit. As a walker, Burrator Reservoir is close, along with acres of Dartmoor. Princetown is always good, along with the Old Police Station Cafe. There are also some beautiful places a long the coast, one we found after a recommendation was at Wembury. It might be a stony beach, but it was a place that my boy loved playing. Would I go back to The Domes? Certainly, without hesitation.

Spectacular stay

We had a spectacular stay at Dartmoor Domes, I would highly recommend it! It was lovely to hear the river whilst falling asleep, and it was super luxurious to have the privacy of our own kitchen, bathroom, loo and seating areas. Everything that you might need was provided (BBQ coals, matches, tea bags..) and a treat for us in the kitchen too which was extra special!! Tim kindly helped us out by giving us a lift when we had a flat tyre, and waited with us to make sure recovery had been arranged! We were blessed with amazing weather and there was lots to explore in the beautiful local area. Thank you for a special stay and we hope to come back one day!

Sunny weekend in the woods!

We had a long weekend at Dartmoor Domes as our first holiday in a very long time and our first camping trip with our toddler and baby. Booking was easy and lots of information was provided to help with planning. The site is beautiful, and Tim and James were super helpful in giving us a hand with all our bits down to our dome and helping us get settled. The domes peek out along the path through the woods and our toddler was super exited seeing it for the first time. Our was well equipped and beautiful inside, the kitchen had everything we could need for the weekend including an actual fridge which was very welcome on a mega-hot weekend. Also lots of lovely touches like shampoo/conditioner/body wash in showers and a campfire welcome treat! The bed was super comfy, and our three year old loved the bunk-bed which were not super high and so felt quite safe even for a little one. Being able to visit and feed the alpacas and horses was a particular highlight for our animal loving boy, as was splashing in the river and finding the hidden hammocks in the woods! We also really appreciated having our own facilities kitchen/toilet etc. I have to add that our toddler unexpectedly came down with a tummy bug and we cannot thank Tim and Phil enough! They definitely went above and beyond and we are so grateful for their assistance! (Thankfully nothing serious but quite worrying for a time nonetheless). Our dome was particularly sunny and just a teeny but more of a shaded area for the heat of the day would have been welcome, but there were lots of area on the site to explore along the river and in the woods, and lots of recommendations for local outings (also +30 degree temperatures are not the norm in the UK). We would recommend a visit and hope to return again!

What a place!

This is such a gorgeous gem amongst the beautiful Devon Countryside! James and his family are so welcoming and friendly, helping us down to our lodge and making sure we were settled before leaving us to the peace and quiet of our dome. Our experience was even better than we could have dreamed of (we had beautiful weather which helped!) but to be off grid but with home comforts is just awesome. I don't want to share too much as I think everyone just needs to experience this! We will definitely be returning with our kids! Thanks again to all!!!

Excellent off grid camping experience

This was our first glamping experience and we couldn't of wished for a better experience, right from the start we were greeted by James who led us down to our dome with our luggage piled into a wheelbarrow, we were helped into our dome and given information on how to work the solar lights and fan, once settled in we quickly adapted to the lack of WiFi the sound of the stream and peace and quiet more than made up for it. We had local knowledge to hand from James dad (sorry don't remember his name) and we were made to feel welcome if we needed anything we could WhatsApp James or right a note on the whiteboard in the car park. Overall we loved our stay and we feel like we didn't have long enough, the facilities are great and we made use of the fire pit and BBQ maybe if the owners offered a BBQ package or cream tea to purchase we would of loved to add that to our stay as the nearest shop is tesco or Aldi in Plympton. Some locally produced food would of made our stay even better, however we were given some free range eggs which we made good use of, oh and a lovely kit to make smores was very thoughtful 😊 Thankyou for a lovely stay we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Stunning Weekend

Me and my girlfriend came down for the weekend just for a local get away and I don't think we could of chosen anywhere better. This is the first camping/ glamping I have personally ever been to and I thourghly enjoyed it and would happily do it again. The site was stunning with the stream running right through it, the dome was great and modern. I would happily visit again 🙂

What A Great Weekend at an Excellent Site

We have never before tried this type of holiday, but the whole "Domes Experience" was smashing. Right from the start when I made a slight error with my booking but to James, it was just one of those things and he sorted it. Getting there was interesting, (we came down across the moor from Princetown) please remember that Devon lanes are very narrow, so get used to them and be prepared to take your time - there's no need to rush, you're on holiday. On arrival, James and his family made us feel really very welcome and this helped set the tone for rest of the weekend. They had done so many little things to make each party feel special. We were in the Great Staple dome while our son and family were in Hound Tor dome. They are slightly different in layout but both very comfortable and well equipped. We took a lot of "stuff" that we didn't think would be there - for example tea bags, a knife for cutting bread, tea towels bottle opener/corkscrew (of course). Don't take it - you don't need it, they really do provide evrything. Getting all this stuff down to the domes and back up is so easy, they have the biggest wheelbarrows I've ever seen! Now, to the "dunnies", be prepared, they are something else, but they are clean, not unpleasant and definitely part of the experience. After all, this is about greener camping.... The site itself is pretty and we were lucky enough to see a range of butterflies, damsel flies, frogs and even stag beetles. We had a cracking weekend, and will certainly be going back again - there is just so much to do in the area. Thank you James, Em, and the rest of the family. as you know, this was a special break for us and your care and consideration were a big part of making it successful.

A peaceful break in a beautiful location

We had a restful weekend with friends, sitting around the firepit listening to the stream flowing by. Very relaxing, wish we could have stayed longer. James and his family were very welcoming and the domes are beautifully arranged with everything thought of from solar lighting to a S'mores kit. Lovely hot shower, great to have a picnic bench undercover and the kitchen was very well equipped. The domes are well spaced with great views down the stream. Look forward to returning and making use of the sun loungers. Thanks for a great stay.

Nothing short of amazing

n how it opens up to the field with all four Domes was quite the breathtaking view to be honest. When we got to the Dome, again, everything had been thought of. An airer for your clothes if you get wet, indoor/out door pegs, BBQ utensils, knives, forks, spoons, pots, pans, frying pan, stove kettle, wine glasses, normal juice glasses, mugs for tea and coffee not to mention how amazing they were with the happy birthday decorations for my partner. I enjoy a hot shower, a bed and a nice cup of tea, so glamping was the best option for me to enjoy somewhere special with great company. Everything was social distanced, I didn't come into contact with any of the other guests not even for a minute. There's so many other things that I loved but I don't think anyone will read this far into a review... James and family, Dartmoor Domes, there's not enough stars for how much we loved our weekend. Thanks for having us.

An idyllic escape and chance to unplug

We had a lovely break at Dartmoor Domes very recently. James and all of his family made us feel more than welcome. The facilities and site are a remarkable feat and are sensitively designed to have as limited an impact on the environment as possible. However, this is glamping so we were equipped with the necessities that you would expect to make your stay more than comfortable - gas, electric (solar powered), including a fridge, good cooking facilities, easily able to cope with one pot meals and cooked breakfasts (though we kept things simple) hot shower etc. not to say a practical seating area and firepit. Though neither of us are experienced glampers, let alone campers, our stay (over 4 nights in mid June) felt such a wonderful and unique experience as it provided us with the most precious commodity of all these days - time. Time to relax of course, but also time to unplug. Not once did we miss the noise of the TV or background distraction of the internet. James and family were on hand to give us plenty of welcome advice in terms of local places to visit (we had pre booked the Eden project, which is around 1.5 hours away) and we also visited some other areas for the coastal walking and sea views (Salcombe, Hope Cove) also recommended by James and the family. We ate out every night and had no issues in getting a table, though we are mindful that it was not peak season. Nevertheless, the location is ideal as it feels very remote (in the right way - how do you like the idea of spotting deer roaming just 150 yards away?) yet is within 10-20 minutes drive of Plympton and Plymouth so there is plenty of choice close at hand. Again, James had plenty of recommendations. One other observation: be prepared to drive down one way tracks and hone your skills in finding suitable passing points in getting to certain destinations as this is Devon! We would recommend Dartmoor Domes to anyone and cannot thanks James and his family enough for such a great break!

thank you Kieran, we are really pleased you enjoyed your stay. Relaxing and switching the world off for a while is what we are here for!

Amazing stay!

My partner and I absolutely loved our stay in the domes! James and Em were extremely approachable and happy to help in any way. We visited salcombe on one of the days which was around a 45 minute drive and there is a host of other things to do locally as well. The domes were extremely well built and the bbq/eating area was perfect. Perfect for a weekend/rural getaway and we loved the fact there is little phone signal down in the domes to completely switch off! Would definitely recommend!!

A wonderful weekend

Although my husband and I are experienced campers, recent circumstances have meant that this was our first adventure as a family of four. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and relaxed. James met us and gave us the guided tour and a hand with our stuff. There is a very large wheelbarrow for each plot to ferry your items from the car, which was handy. The site itself is a short walk down a hand laid path, over a well built footbridge that crosses the stream and into a beautiful clearing. There are four geodomes in total, each one with it's own decking or outside space, composting loo, separate shower room and kitchen space, that are all separate wooded structures. The domes are nicely spaced apart so you feel private if you wish to be. A beautiful river winds through the site and all of the domes have a section alongside it. I really cannot put into words how peaceful the site felt. Our children enjoyed splashing in the water and running around the open space outside our dome. The domes themselves were nicely decorated and comfortable. A log burner kept the place toasty when the nights drew in, or we would sit by the firepit outside. We also enjoyed viewing the stars through the rooftop window. The countryside around the area was spectacular and there are lots of suggestions for walks around the site entrance. Although this site feels very rural both Plymouth and Plymton are close by with supermarkets and restaurants. All in all this was an immensely comfortable and enjoyable experience. The owner ooze enthusiasm and love for the site which is infectious but also well deserved. We will definitely be back as two nights was no where near long enough to enjoy this area.

breathtaking stay at the Domes

We have just returned from a breathtaking stay at the Domes. Beauty and the call of the wild all wrapped up under a dome shaped roof. James, Em and the family have worked so hard to make this a really special venue. James could not have been more helpful in recommending places to visit in the local area. A trip to Totnes, Sharpham's Vineyard, a walk on Bigbury beach, canoeing down the Tamar- a vast array of options within 30/40 mins of the site. Do pop up to the Farm Yard Cafe (20 mins walk from the site) for a 'Full English'..."We might look a bit rustic but we serve great food"...we couldn't agree more. Whilst we are undoubtedly biased, see if you can acquire the serene 'Hound Tor' Dome, tucked away in the corner of the site with the stream for company. This was a first-rate glamping experience, you are in for a real treat!

Wonderful restful weekend at Dartmoor domes

Home from a wonderful long weekend at Dartmoor Domes for a much needed weekend away and birthday celebration. James, Emma and the family have thought of absolutely everything to make your stay extra special. We loved that it’s a real family effort and we felt so welcomed. The setting is just gorgeous and although the domes were fully booked we had loads of space and it still felt super secluded. The stream running by the dome kept our little one entertained for hours. The little bridges are perfect for playing Pooh sticks. The home made birthday cake was a chocolate extravaganza and a lovely surprise. We particularly love the green ethos of the site and love how that is reflected throughout.
