Self-contained luxury lodge and pods in a tranquil waterside setting close to Falmouth and the River Helford

Opened in 2013, Trecombe Lakes is one of Cornwall's loveliest glampsites. Secreted in a tranquil waterside spot near the charming village of Constantine, this idyllic setting is perfect for a hassle-free Cornish break.

The six pods which comprise the glamping lodgings are perfect for reluctant tent campers. Somehow managing to be both cosy and airy, the fully insulated pods are kitted out with comfy beds (one double and a couple of singles) and linen so all you need do is bring yourself and an appetite for exploring this magical corner of south-west England. There's even a cute little kitchenette so you can cook up a storm using some of the fine Cornish produce on offer (be sure to ask about their special breakfast hampers) and an en-suite toilet and shower room inside each pod.

The newest addition to Trecombe Lakes is the super luxurious woodland lodge. More treehouse than cabin, this hi-spec abode sleeps up to six and comes brimming with all mod cons including underfloor heating and stylish interiors. There's a wood-fired Swedish hot tub on the veranda, with gorgeous views of the surrounding woodland and lakes.

Kids will love exploring the nine acres of woodland and the play area with climbing wall, treehouse, nets and rope swings. The centrepiece of the site though is the eponymous lake (conscientiously fenced off from the play area). Should you tire of the innumerable places to visit offsite (including the path of the nearby Helford River), jump in one of the complimentary rowing boats for a peaceful paddle on the water, before lounging back on your decking with a beer and a barbie on the go. Pure bliss.

A single luxury lakeside lodge (sleeping 6) with underfloor heating, self-contained bathroom (include shower and toilet), proper kitchen and Swedish hot tub on the veranda.  6 brand new luxury pods sleeping 4, each with one double and two single beds (travel cot can also be accommodated for additional cost), toilet, shower and kitchenette equipped with electric hob, sink and fridge. Pods are double-glazed and fully-insulated. Bed linen, bathroom towels and kitchen equipment are all provided. The decking area has a picnic table, outdoor beanbags, a Webber BBQ and fire pit. Communal laundry. Woodland play area, boating lake.

Fantastic stay, would definitely recommend

Trecombe Lakes is absolutely beautiful. The pods are spacious, clean and have a great feel to them. The gardens and surroundings are beautifully maintained. Would definitely come back.

A great place to stay!

We recently had a fantastic stay in one of Trecombe Lakes Pods. The pods are spacious and cosy. The beds are really comfortable and the shower is great! I was expecting the bathroom to be a lot smaller than it was - There was plenty of room. The location is also stunning. My son had a great time making friends and playing in the playground. Highly recommend.

Perfect gateway

This was by far one of the most relaxing and really exciting times I have had in a long time. The pods are so comfortable, charming and have all facilities that are needed. The full functioning kitchen, bed was so comfortable. The shower so spacious. Honestly I could not recommend this place high enough. Will definitely we returning again

Absolutely perfect weekend !

We had been very much looking forward to having a weekend away after a difficult year and Trecombe lakes was the perfect location. Having been a fair weather camper for many years we are now definitely converted to glamping.....Trecombe is a quiet site with seven pods and although it was fully booked we hardly noticed any noise . We loved the fact that BBQs and campfires are very much encouraged and sat out very cosily all evening despite the early morning frost . An unexpected bonus was the nature trail around the lakes which again was very quiet and the perfect spot to sit and enjoy the beautiful location. We will definitely return.

Perfectly de

We loved Trecombe lakes. The pods are cosey and the owners have thought about absolutely everything you might need for a comfortable few days away. The sight is tranquil and feels like you are really in the middle of nature, and they clearly take a lot of time and care over making it look nice. Sitting around the fire on a clear starry night was perfect. The lakes are really pretty and worth taking an hour stroll around. The only thing I would suggest to make the stay more comfortable is an extra hour for checkout and some pepper :)

Fab staycation

Trecombe lakes was the perfect mini-break location. The huts are cosy and cut and have everything you would need to disconnect. The evening fire pits keep you warm and due to the rural location the sky is amazing at night! We loved our 4 night stay with day trips to Sennen cove, lands end, Falmouth and st Ives! Will definitely be coming again!

Great site!

We had a great long family weekend staying in one of the pods. The site is lovely and the pods well spaced out and private. The pods were roomy and well equipped - supplemented by the bbq and fire pit. The playground was enjoyed by our 9 year old and boating on the lake was fab! Location wise it is very well placed with Falmouth etc. Would highly recommend!

Everyone enjoyed the Lodge , the location and the welcoming from Jason & Selina

Wow..... what a wonderful place to be. The children loved every space. Trecombe Lakes had everything we wanted and more besides. The children just loved the outside play area and the play room.... keeping them active everyday. The Lodge is a great location over looking the lake. A nice quite spot, not too sunny and able to chill. Everyone loved the Hot-Tub on the balcony, all you have to do is lay back & enjoy! Jason & Selina are fantastic. They ensured everything was in place, all we had to do was bring the children and our own food. Best place ever Thank you Jason & Selina

Very nice stay at Trecombe Lakes!

It was a gift to my partner as he loves camping's. We have two small kids under 5's and I did not want to go into a tent or empty pod. I came a cross to Trecombe Lakes and I did not hesitate to book it. It was all equipped and I was so happy about it. Kids were really excited, we stayed every evening to the very late enjoying our stay, having barbecues, playing around. The only minus for this is pond, which was really not clean place to go, they should take care of it. And also playground is only for bigger kids and suitable to small once. Other than that everything else was perfect, clean and tidy. My partner was really amazed and we would be coming back in the summer time for sure :) Lovely place to stay with small kids and not only. Really recommend to other families.

Pod living Scandi-cool style

I came across Trecombe Lakes after a lot of looking around online for accommodation near Helston, but I'm so glad I kept searching. I've been camping before, and to very civilised mobile homes in France with our 5 year old in previous years, but with a 5 month old now in tow my main concerns were cold/damp, and not being in a position to want to 'rough it'.

As it happened, we arrived at 23.30 after a long drive from Lancashire to be greeted by driving rain and wildly gusting wind. The arrangement with the key being available in a small safe by the front door was excellent, and I and the two children were soon inside. We were greeted by a scandi-style cool interior; funky, warm and cosy (do all the pods have a duvet pattern to match their animal name?), and the 5 year old loved her first experience of a beanbag. Despite the weather, we didn't need the heater on at all, and we felt completely cocooned from the weather.

We'd arranged a travel cot, but our baby daughter preferred to tuck in beside me under the very snuggly duvet; and who could blame her. If anything, we were too warm; I hope there's something lighter weight in the summer! We really appreciated the attention to detail, from the fridge, kettle , toaster, and even a heated towel rail in the bathroom to the complimentary tea and coffee and right down to a tea towel and washing up equipment. Not everywhere provides all this, and it was great.

The next day my partner and older daughter did a bit of exploring around the lake and play area. It was a shame the conditions weren't fit to try out the boats, but she scrambled around on the adventure play area. This is definitely aimed more at older children, and I think pre-schoolers would struggle, so adding something for them e.g. smaller swings, ladder and slide would be a nice touch.

From the point of view of a young family, especially travelling with a baby, I'd like to have had use of a microwave. Personally I've come to rely on one for sterilising bottles and warming baby food, and while there is cold water sterilising and you could use a pan of water to heat food, everything else at Trecombe is done to such a high standard it seems a shame to have to struggle. Also, as a contact lens wearer, please could the mirror in the bathroom be nearer the washbasin? Walking across the bathroom semi-blind while balancing a slippery contact lens on your finger is asking for trouble!

Altogether, it was a fantastic experience and the only downside was that we just had 2 nights. We'll be back for a longer stay though - if we can get in, as this place deserves to be booked solid!
