The Owner Says

Our Shepherd’s Hut has been lovingly renovated by our step-brother Simon. This contains a small double bed, perfect for cosying up to your loved one on a chilly night.

The Shepherds hut is just nestled in the woods on the side of the field, giving it a slightly different feel to the tents. The hut has its own outside seating area with fire brazier in the woods.

Prices are £65-85 a night based on 2 people sharing.

We provide the following: Bedding and towels, hot water bottles, blankets, plates, glasses, cutlery, a kettle, cooking utensils and a small fridge for each unit. A washing up area with hot running water. There is drinking water on-site from a designated tap. There are 2 wheelbarrows available to move your things from the car park to the tent as unfortunately, you will be unable to drive across the field.

Every unit has its own allocated bathroom, with hot showers and flushing toilets giving you complete privacy. Unfortunately, the bathrooms are not wheelchair accessible at this time and the showers are raised requiring you to step up into them.

There is a communal fire pit and 3 x Gas BBQs for anyone to use. One bag of wood will be provided, though you are welcome to purchase more at £7 a load. Please bear in mind that we are not based on site, therefore you will need to arrange this with us earlier in the day.

High chairs, travel cots and changing mats are available upon request.

About Rolling Fields Glamping

Suitable For

Glampers, couples, families – yes. Noisy folk, stag or hen parties, your own tent, campervan or caravan – no.

With the Chilterns and the Thames on your doorstep you can choose from riverside or countryside. If it’s the water you go for, try water sports at The Oxford Wakeboard and Ski Club (07974 369982) or go lazy river cruising by hiring a boat from The Beetle and Wedge (01491 651381). Keen anglers can cast off in the neighbouring town of Goring-on-Thames, while those in search of culture can drive the half hour to World Heritage site Blenheim Palace (01993 810530) or Highclere Castle (01635 253210), popularised in the ITV hit Downton Abbey.

Food & Drink

If you’re going to ramble anywhere make sure it’s to the The Beetle and Wedge inn and restaurant (01491 651381; booking advised). As well as a great à la carte menu, you can also choose to take your tea (or your lunch) on a moored boat on the Thames at the foot of the pub garden. For lighter bites, try the family-run Ox Shed café (01491 651389) situated in Cholsey Meadows, while, for hearty Sunday roasts, The Red Lion (01491 599842) should have you well covered.

Brill birthday trip with friends

Had a wonderful stay at Rolling Fields last weekend! We were a bigger group who had the whole site, making the most of the place. From start to finish the hosts were easily contactable and provided lots of info and recommendations. When we arrived it was an easy to find, simple check in, beautifully set-up and bathrooms were brilliant. Everything was so clean and organised per tent. It was well thought out made the whole trip easy. Goring nearby is lovely for a few hours out, but good enough to stay on site for the whole weekend to relax. Would return and recommending to lots of friends!

Fantastic stay

A well thought out camp site. It was very comfortable, clean and view was amazing. Having our own private toilet/shower was fabulous! Will definitely come back and stay a bit longer next time.

Perfect for first time Glampers!

Perfect set up for those that are new to Glamping / Camping. Own private bathroom with shower which was very clean, and lots of extras provided to make the stay feel comfortable including blankets, towels, lantern, fairy lights, electric heater, plastic crockery and cutlery, mini fridge, kettle and toaster. Facilities included own seating area and fire pit, gas BBQs (3 to share across 5 units) and play area. Site is about 15 mins walk from the river and a lovely restaurant, and a short drive to Goring. We had a lovely stay and hope to go back next season.

Thank you for your review Lisa, we're glad you had a lovely time. Please do come again!

Great weekend away for the family!

Our stay here was amazing. Our first glamping experience and this was just great. The tent was clean, cosy and comfortable and kitted with everything you need. The private bathroom was ideal. Our daughter loved the playground and we enjoyed our own outdoor seating area with the fire pit. Total relaxation. The only thing to add or improve on would be to upgrade the playground facilities and this place would have it all! We will definitely be back!

Response from Rolling Fields Glamping

Thank you for your review, we're glad you had a lovely stay. Sorry you feel the playground needs upgrading. Unfortunately as a small start up business we only have a limited amount of money and have focused our attentions more on the accommodation and bathrooms. Saying that we are really pleased we have been able to provide a playground and will bear in mind your comments for when we are able to upgrade things. It is always really helpful to have guests honest opinions, we hope to see you again!

Getting There

To get to Greenlands Farms you will need to come via the A417. If coming from Blewbury, the farm entrance will be on the left and, if from Goring, it shall be on your right. Once you’ve entered the farm, follow the signs straight ahead and you’ll find the entrance to the glamping a little way up the lane on the left hand side. There is parking immediately to your left as you enter the field where you’ll find wheelbarrows to help you move your belongings from your car to your accommodation.

The closest station is Cholsey railway station, which is on the Great Western Mainline with trains from Paddington. You can walk from Cholsey Station which is a 45 minute walk or book a taxi to take you to Greenlands Farm, this is a 5 minute drive (you will need to call a taxi in advance as there aren't any at the station).
