The Owner Says

Our yurts were designed and created in Seattle in the shadow of Mount Rainier.  The materials used within the build are superior so they are often used as full time residences in the USA.

The tall design allows for full size french doors so you don't need to stoop. The picture windows are over 2 metres wide and give you a great view as they are made of a scratch-resistant polymer but it's 30 mm thickness ensures your visibility is not distorted. Most yurts in the UK have solid doors and do not have windows but we believe natural light and a clear view are really important to your holiday experience.  There are opening windows in the bedroom and bathroom.

The fabric of the yurt is vinyl coated polyester and the internal liner is made of eagle army duck canvas. Two layers of insulation will also ensure you're cool in the sun and warm in the night or in seasonal weather.

Above you are beautifully crafted Douglas Fir rafters leading to the central compression ring with the clear dome to the sky.  Perfect for viewing the stars!

The living area is carpeted with comfortable sofas allowing you to relax after a busy day site seeing.  The ground floor bedroom has a top quality superking bed whilst upstairs on the mezzanine floor there are deep matresses which can be three singles, a superking and a single or just a superking depending on your needs.  It has a great den feel for the kids or there is plenty of room for two adults.

You'll instantly feel at home in our clean, comfortable yurt. We provide bathroom and hot tub towels, linens, duvets, pillows, dishes, cutlery and crockery — all the amenities you need for a relaxing retreat.

What is included in your booking:

  • Full integral bathroom with flushing toilet and shower with plenty of hot water including complimentary products and towels

Nearby

East Hoathly village is 3km away and has a shop and post office, a hairdressers, a café and a pair of decent pubs. There is a park with a children's playground and the village cricket team can be found playing there on a Sunday afternoon. Further afield, Bentley Wildfowl and Motor Museum (01825 840573) is a multi-faceted family attraction, just 10 minutes away by car, while Sheffield Park, north of Uckfield, is a magnificent National Trust garden, from where steam trains run to East Grinstead on the Bluebell Railway (01825 720800). If it's raining, you might consider a trip to the Jacobean mansion of Rudyard Kipling, Bateman's, in nearby Burwash.

Food & Drink

The family's own Offham Farm Shop (01273 478265) does great meat for BBQs. The local pub is The KIng's Head (01825 840238) in East Hoathly. This historic CAMRA-approved watering hole (dating back to 1648) boasts a fine selection of ales (courtesy of the brewery next door) and a decent menu of pub grub favourites. The Star Inn at Waldron (01435 812495) is another antiquated gem of a pub with a beautiful beer garden to boot. Not to be confused, The Star Inn (01435 863570) in Old Heathfield is well worth a visit too, as is The Black Duck (01435 830636) in Warbelton.

Ideal for a relaxing cycling break

The yurts were comfy fully equipped with everything you need. Loved the welcome goodies that allowed us glide into holiday mode without any hassle. Even a couple of loo rolls and a roll of kitchen towel, dishwasher tablets etc were provided. The hot tub was divine... worked perfect and the temperature was just right. The toilet was clean and had everything we needed. We did the Cuckoo trail nearby on cycle. The autumn colours in the forest was magnificent! Felt a bit sad that some parts of the trail are getting encroached by new developments. Hope locals and authorities will ensure that this lovely walking/cycling path will be preserved for the future..!

Peaceful, quiet, just perfect.

In the middle of no where, which is what we were after. Having no wi fi made it even better. Fully equipped, massive bed, proper kitchen and shower room. The hamper of goodies plus milk and juice was just perfect and handy. We used the hot tub every night. The yurt was lovely and warm, even for October. Although in middle of nowhere, we were close enough to places like Eastbourne and Hastings. Just a perfect relaxing week away. Hopefully we’ll go back again, even though we only lived about 90 minutes away. Some books and dvds were supplied but take some more with you as tv signal not great. Gave us a chance to watch a few films. Just loved it.

Glamping at its best

Just stayed 4 nights at Graywood well this was glamping at its best. Perfect location very quiet only 3 yurts surrounded by fields and sheep close by. Enough space for the boys to run about and we were celebrating my sons 12th birthday. Even better to enjoy the British heatwave for the week especially having a hot tub to enjoy in the sun. All facilities inside yurt amazing. Would recommend to friend/ family and will certainly visit again. Thank you Stephanie and Richard

Fantastic Stay

I booked 2 yurts for our family over Easter weekend and were not disappointed. We had the best time. We felt like we were overseas. The farm was tranquil and idyllic. The yurts were so well appointed it felt like a hotel in a field. The generosity of hosts Stephanie and Richard to provide a hamper, toiletries and even Easter surprises just made the stay even more special. I can not recommend it highly enough. We will be rebooking!
