Luxury shepherd's huts with wood-fired hot tubs and an adjoining log cabin for extra space

What did you do during the coronavirus lockdown? Learn a new language? Plant a vegetable garden? Eat your own bodyweight in raspberry swirl ice cream (asking for a friend)? Lisa and Phil created a glamping site. And what a glamping site it is.

Six miles from Skipton and the Yorkshire Dales, Copy House Farm is home to two perfectly appointed shepherd’s huts, with south-facing views and hot tubs from which to enjoy them. Inside they feature double beds, compact kitchen spaces and en-suite shower rooms, while every attention has been given to the finer details – think Abraham Moon fabrics and hotel-grade, pocket-sprung mattresses with a choice of summer or winter duvets. In the morning you can enjoy a Nespresso coffee as you plan your day’s activities; perhaps a walk along the Pendle Way, which runs through the farm, or a drive to Malham Cove or Gordale Scar.

One of the fantastic features at Copy House Hideaway is the way each shepherd’s hut has an adjoining log cabin, where the hot tub and extra seating is found. This seems to vastly extend the space and is excellent for cooler months, while a large sliding door also lets you open the cabin up to give a sense of being outdoors in summer.

From the complimentary “Out of Eden” toiletry packs to the milk and local butter ready-stocked in your fridge, Phil and Lisa also understand the finer points of hosting. Lisa was a long-haul aeroplane cabin manager for over 30 years before coming down from 42,000 feet and working in hospitality, so she certainly knows how to be a good host and is happy to help with pub recommendations, day-trip suggestions and good walking routes. And with the Yorkshire Dales, Forest of Bowland and Nidderdale AONB all less than half an hour’s drive away, you’ll never be short of options.

Suitable For

Glamping only. Dogs welcome (extra £10 charge). If you book the entire site (two huts) then it is may also be possible to pitch tents or park campervans and make the space your own.

The Pendle Way runs through the field next to the glamping site, making the place ideal for walkers (which takes in Pendle Hill, amongst other top spots). But while the local walking is excellent (and the views from Copy House Farm are sure to draw you out), for most people the real hiking attractions are a short drive away in the Yorkshire Dales. It takes less than 15 minutes to drive to Skipton (the delightful town, an attraction in its own right), from where you cross the national park boundary. It’s 25 minutes to Bolton Abbey, around the same to Malham Cove and a touch more to Gordale Scar, while walking the Dales Way up to Appletreewick (great pubs en route) is popular, with ample spots to swim in the River Wharfe during summer.

Food & Drink

There are a couple of good pubs within a mile of the shepherd’s huts. The Craven Heifer (01282 843007) in Kelbrook is recently renovated in a modern style, with a separate bar and high-class dining areas (plenty of outdoor seating to rear), while Black Lane Ends (01282 863070), on the old road from Colne to Skipton overlooking the Pennine Moors, is an independent free house with an excellent reputation for food (served daily from 12–9pm in the two rooms either side of the bar). It’s particularly good for walkers on the Pendle Way, as is The Hare & Hounds (01535 631200) in Lothersdale, a popular community pub with a large main bar with fires at both ends. Four beers are always available on handpulls, one of which is "Lothersale Blonde". For a lighter daytime bite, try Utopia (01756 692522) at Broughton Hall.

Heather Hut was gorgeous with spectacular views!

Me and my partner had never done anything like Glamping before so we didn’t know what to expect but Heather Hut did not disappoint, it was so quirky and had everything you need, with lovely added extras such as fresh flowers, chocolates and wine left for us in an ice bucket! The wood fired hot tub was gorgeous overlooking the stunning views-we are 100% coming back again! Lisa and Phil couldn’t have been more accommodating -definitely recommend!!

A Proper Getaway

Our stay at copy house hideaway was absolutely incredible. The attention to detail was impeccable. We enjoyed the wine on arrival which was a lovely gesture. There was fresh bread, milk, biscuits and more! The cabins are super cosy! The beds were comfortable. The investment that had gone into the cabins was great to see and a lot of thought had been put into the decor and the durability and quality of its furnishings. The hot tub was a great experience. We found that heating the hot tub to 39C was a comfortable temperature for us. It took about two hours but didn’t take too much supervision and was good fun. The wall mounted halogen heaters were a surprise we didn’t expect. The views from the cabin were beautiful, the cabin was oriented perfectly. It was also made to be quite private by the addition of a fence and seating that helped separate it from the other cabin. I couldn’t not speak more of the experience. We will certainly be returning again. Thank you so much.

Loved staying in hideaway bracken hut...

Loved staying in hideaway bracken hut. We have rebooked for our anniversary, whilst we were looking at the stunning views from the hot tub. Lisa and Phil were amazing hosts, bottle of sparkles on ice at arrival, Lisa showed us how everything worked, and told us just to ring if we needed anything at all. The setting was stunning, the hut was so comfortable, everything you needed was there, from the nespresso coffee machine to the hobbit wood burner We loved it, we will be highly recommending to friends. Can't wait for the next visit

Summer Escape

We stayed back in August and had a fantastic time. The view from huts is amazing and the accommodation has everything you need down to the finest of details. Lisa and Phil were excellent hosts who could not do enough for you. We would love to come back one day! :)

Had a fantastic time the view is amazing, the hut and hot tub are also brilliant. Phil and Lisa are excellent host’s and make you feel so welcomed and are possibly the nicest people you could meet, upon arrival they had glasses chilled for our champagne which was such a nice touch when we arrived and showed us how everything worked and if we needed anything just to ask, Nothing was an issue and we had an excellent time would recommend to anybody you would not be disappointed

Breathtaking views and superb place

Everything was amazing from start to finish. Hosts Phil and Lisa so friendly on arrival and ensured every need was catered for. Huts so beautiful and had everything you could ever need. Outside space amazing during in the day amazing views and at night all lit up. Cant wait to go back again. Definitely a place you need to visit.

Perfect hideaway

This place has it all - views to die for, top quality accommodation, finishing touches galore, excellent hosts and Gods Own Country right on the doorstep. If we could move in forever, we would. Instant stress relief the minute you arrive.

Absoloutly Faultless!

I bought this as a birthday present for my other half, I was nervous as we have never done the posh glamping before, however, this settled all my nerves! It was amazing, had everything we could of ever asked for, the setting was beautiful, the hut was fantastic, every little detail had been taken care off. Nothing was to much to ask for with the owners, there at the drop of a hat, an extremely warm welcoming - even though we were an hour early! Left to our own devices and everything was set up for us ready. We have done several log cabins with hot tubs etc and this was by far the best we have ever experienced and definatly looking to book again!!! We cannot express how much this was the perfect break away from the second we pulled into the drive to the moment we left, literally drove up the drive and said to each other "have a look when we can go again". Everything was down to perfection, the hut itself was beautifully decorated with fantastic taste, from the love heart hooks to the wood burning log fire. The hot tub was brilliant, even though we did think with it being inside maybe it would be too hot but with the fantastic views from the large windows and the huge opening door we actually preferred it being it inside. It had the best of both worlds and with having to heat the hot tub ourselves with a log burner it just added to the moment. If you are looking to book something like this then trust me when I say this you will not be dissapointed!! 100% A******************* Thank you both for making it an absoloute magical memory!!! A gorgeous shepherd hut in a beautiful setting. Lisa and Phil are brilliant hosts, nothing was too much trouble for them. We had a great weekend.

The huts are really special, every little detail has been thought through. They are comfy, cute and modern. Lisa and Phil are lovely and so helpful. We spent a weekend relaxing, walking, eating at local pubs and finishing the weekend with a bbq that Lisa got us from the local farm shop and roasted marshmallows. I would highly recommend copy house hideaway it’s the perfect setting for a break away from the hustle and bustle of real life. We will be back soon.

Relaxing experience with fine attention to detail!

Lisa and Phill have created a magical place to get away from it all. Our stay was perfect, we were made to feel at home as soon as we arrived. Arriving to a chilled bottle of fizz and hot tub ready to get into with fluffy dressing gowns as well! Our weekend away was just what we needed, undisturbed peace and quite, stunning scenery and views! The heather Shepard’s hut was extremely well equipped and gorgeously decorated throughout, spotlessly clean and instantly welcoming. The bed was so comfortable and the log burner let us cosy. We can not wait to go again for another weekend of bliss. Thank you Lisa and Phill what an amazing start for your first season x x x x

Absolutely lovely getaway. Views are amazing, cozy little huts with everything you need! Greeted on arrival by Lisa who was lovely and informative- Hosts were welcoming and added lots of extra little touches that most places wouldn't think about. They go above and beyond to ensure you are having a great time! They provided excellent customer service, and everything was to a high standard. Would definitely book again! Thanks for a great stay.

Luxurious and cosy hideaway

Myself my partner and our labrador had the most wonderful 4 nights at Copy House Hideaway. We were original only staying for 3 nights but had to sneak in another as we did not want to leave. The huts are beautifully finished with everything you could need from dressing gowns to board games. Lisa and Phil really have thought of everything. We had bubbly on arrival along with biscuits, bread, jam...the works. There was a basket of farm eggs we could help ourselves to, we loved this touch. The surrounding areas are lovely and there are so many fab places aswell as pubs to visit, that's if you can tear yourself away from the wood fired hot tub. Thank you Lisa and Phil for your fantastic hospitality, we will definitely be back!

Luxurious and cosy hideaway

I can not recommend Copy House Hideaway enough. Its pure luxury but whilst still feeling like you are reconnecting with nature. Lisa and Phil have thought of everything and we had farm eggs to help ourselves to, bubbly on arrival, bread, butter, jam... The works. We had board games, dressing gowns and blankets. We really didn't need to worry about bringing anything. Even our Labrador Lola was left some treats. Lisa and Phil are so lovely and went above and beyond for us. There are so many beautiful places around to visit and Lisa recommended a fab local pub for food which we really enjoyed. I wish I could remember the name but they have provided a menu in their welcome book. We spent hours in the hot tub sat around the fire pit. We never saw the occupants of the other hut as the two huts are very cleverly and privately spaced. We were provided with a BBQ but on windier and wetter evenings we cooked on the electric hobs in the hut. Again they have thought of everything. The shower was lovely and hot and there is a radiator in the bathroom ensuring you are warm even when the Hobbit wood burner isn't in use. We were originally staying for 3 nights but managed to sneak an extra night in and will be back I'm sure before the year is over!

This place is stunning in every respect!!! Phil and Lisa are the most attentive hosts you could wish for, whilst leaving you to enjoy spectacular views, privacy and and utter tranquility!!! The attention to detail and quality they have achieved is simply outstanding!!! Cannot recommend this beautiful hideaway enough!! Thankyou Phil and Lisa!!!!

A Gem of a Hideaway!

This place is incredible. The views are some of the best around. Watching the sun go down sat in your hot tube with a view of the Dales...perfection. Lisa and Phil are fantastic hosts, communication is excellent and they will offer to tend to your every need! The Heather Hut that we stayed in is excellently decorated and finished to the highest quality. This place is perfect for anyone wanting a romantic getaway or a break from their busy lives. We’ve already recommended this place to friends and family since getting home and will continue to do so as I cannot say a bad thing. Even the torrential downpour we experienced for 2 days couldn’t put a dampener on it 😂 I’ve got some excellent photographs from our experience.

Excellent Few Days Away

Lovely hosts with an amazing hideaway. The hot area is gorgeous and the setting couldn’t be better for a relaxing few nights away. On entry we were given a ‘helpful tips’ booklet with recommendations on things to do/ places to eat - make sure to go to the Emmet Inn for amazing food!

Amazing recent stay!

Amazing 2 night stay we could not fault a thing. From the second we arrived Phil and Lisa were so lovely and welcoming. As it was my birthday they supplied a bucket of beer on ice and a box of marshmallows with a little Happy Birthday note. The huts are fab, really clean and have everything you need - all the little bits that you might forget and even an Alexa. The hot tub, log burner, fire pit and BBQ are all amazing with logs and coal all supplied with any extra on hand whenever you need them! The outdoor area is a little sun trap with amazing views and on the night its even better when the lights are on sitting around the fire. I have lots of photos and videos just not sure how to upload. The hosts made our stay special from beginning to end and we have already recommended to our family and friends. We can't wait get booked up again! 10/10 xxx

Perfect hideaway

We booked this, like most people, desperate to just get away for a few days, but without doubt this will be somewhere that we holiday for years to come. Lisa and Phil (the owners and creators of this little bit of paradise) have managed to create the perfect experience. We arrived to a bottle of prosecco in an ice bucket, and buckets of logs ready to lite the hot tub! The hut/cabin is beautifully designed to make it cosy but practical. Lovely little touches throughout that make you feel welcome! And most importantly (in this current climate) it was spotless. The bathroom is lovely and shower was brilliant (much needed after the long walks across Pendle). The bed was so comfy- that it was only the lure of the hot tub that got me up in the morning! The hot tub was incredible- and the fact you can soak away and look out on incredible views makes the experience even more perfect. We had booked to go out for a meal in a local pub but decided to cancel and order a takeaway as we didn't want to leave the spot! To finish... i think the most useful thing i can tell you is that we have already booked to go back in October!

Absolutely amazing!!

I cannot give this place high enough praise!! From the moment we arrived Phil and Lisa were friendly, accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed. The shepherds hut was done to such a high standard, it was very cute and country. The small touches made our stay even better! We will 100% be back. We totally recommended this place for a quiet but high quality Glamping stay. Thank you Phil & Lisa.

Could not fault it!

We have had the most amazing time at The copy house hideaway. After hours spent looking for the perfect place, we came across the copy house hideaway. Honestly we can not fault it! Phill & Lisa are so lovely and welcoming. We stayed in the Heather Hut and it was immaculate, so so cosy and had the most mega view. It is the perfect place to come and relax. We wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you so much.
