Peaks and Pods
UK England North East England North Yorkshire Settle
You can’t help but be a little jealous of the Brennand Family. They’ve woken up amid this stunning, stonewall-lined landscape for no fewer than three generations. And while the world thumps on with mobile phones, computers and fingertip gadgetry, the views here are as timeless as they’ve ever been. In fact, while the farm may border one designated area of natural beauty – the Forest of Bowland AONB – it’s less than two miles to the nearest national park, too. So whether you’re a walker, mountain biker or simply want some snaps of the scenery, the choices are pretty endless.
Perched in a private area of the Brennands' dairy farm – away from the tractors and working yard – the five insulated, cedar-clad pods are arranged to offer a sliding scale of comfort. All have an excellently equipped kitchenette, a double bed and sofa bed, a deck and a barbecue area outside. The two Green Top pods are a few steps from their own private bathrooms, each with a shower, toilet and basin, while the two Silver Top Pods are fully en-suite, for those who just can’t handle the stroll, The top level of luxury goes to the Gold Top pod. How so? It has its very own hot-tub too.
It’s more like compact, self-catered living than camping when you’re cocooned away inside your pod, especially if it’s raining outside and you’ve got dinner simmering on the hob. Once you fling open the double-glazed doors, though, you feel very much a part of the great outdoors. Logs are provided for your fire pit, so you can toast marshmallows on the terrace as the sun sets over the Yorkshire hills, and cows peep their heads teasingly over the fence during summer. There’s also a covered communal area, with games to play and a wood-fired oven to cook fresh pizzas. It’s an excellent spot to socialise.
Walkers, cyclists and mountain bikers are the most obvious folk to capitalise on the area, so it’s no surprise that the Brennands have provided every pod with a boot box and offer a power hose and wall racks for bike maintenance. Spin a few miles west to Gisburn Forest, one of the Forestry Commission’s ‘Super6’ mountain biking destinations, or simply stride out on the footpath from the farm. It’s all on your pod-step, which ever direction you choose.

The Owner Says
We're Joanne and John and we have opened up a corner of our dairy farm between the Yorkshire Dales and the Forest of Bowland. Three generations of our family live and work on the farm and we have put our hearts and souls into creating a bespoke, luxury 'glamping' experience for our outdoor-loving guests.
Our luxury pods are specially-designed to be used all year round, with heating, insulation, double glazing and indoor cooking. You will never feel the cold, or experience broken tent poles and soggy sleeping bags. This is glamping at its best!
At Peaks and Pods we welcome families, couples, friends, cyclists, walkers, countryside lovers and outdoor enthusiasts who want to experience an exciting new place to stay. The five pods each sleep four comfortably. They're kitted out with private shower rooms, fully-equipped kitchenettes, pocket-sprung double beds, feather and down duvets and pillows, memory-foam sofa beds, folding tables and chairs, decked areas, private outdoor spaces, fire bowls (for fire pits and barbecues) and outdoor dining tables. You can even opt for your own private hot tub at three of the pods. There's great mobile phone signal and each pod has free WiFi and its own Smart TV.
Our unique, ranch-style Hub area offers guests a wonderful, sheltered social space to for everyone to relax, enjoy wood-fired pizzas and take in the views. There's a lovely atmosphere at night with festoon and fairy lights and you'll create memories you'll never forget. The Hub Lounge is the newest, most comfortable seating area for kicking back and relaxing.
Visiting cyclists will find first-class facilities for washing, repairing and securely storing their bikes on-site. There's also a little laundry, where guests can wash, dry and iron. There are board games, toys, books and outdoor games kept there too.
We're a 'green' business and have a Gold Award from Green Tourism. Electricity is provided by a wind turbine and solar panels, our hot tubs are heated using air source heat pumps. We encourage our guests to recycle and we provide environmentally-friendly cleaning products in every pod.
We believe that it is important that you can tailor-make your own experience, adding as many or as few extras as you want. Our extra choices allow every stay to be totally bespoke - perfect for your own needs.
We're looking forward to seeing you!
