Luxury pods with extra special touches, sandwiched between the Forest of Bowland and the Yorkshire Dales National Park

You can’t help but be a little jealous of the Brennand Family. They’ve woken up amid this stunning, stonewall-lined landscape for no fewer than three generations. And while the world thumps on with mobile phones, computers and fingertip gadgetry, the views here are as timeless as they’ve ever been. In fact, while the farm may border one designated area of natural beauty – the Forest of Bowland AONB – it’s less than two miles to the nearest national park, too. So whether you’re a walker, mountain biker or simply want some snaps of the scenery, the choices are pretty endless.

Perched in a private area of the Brennands' dairy farm – away from the tractors and working yard – the five insulated, cedar-clad pods are arranged to offer a sliding scale of comfort. All have an excellently equipped kitchenette, a double bed and sofa bed, a deck and a barbecue area outside. The two Green Top pods are a few steps from their own private bathrooms, each with a shower, toilet and basin, while the two Silver Top Pods are fully en-suite, for those who just can’t handle the stroll, The top level of luxury goes to the Gold Top pod. How so? It has its very own hot-tub too.

It’s more like compact, self-catered living than camping when you’re cocooned away inside your pod, especially if it’s raining outside and you’ve got dinner simmering on the hob. Once you fling open the double-glazed doors, though, you feel very much a part of the great outdoors. Marshmallows and skewers are provided in your bag of logs, so you can sit out on the terrace as the sun sets over the Yorkshire hills, and cows peep their heads teasingly over the fence during summer. There’s also a covered communal area, with games to play and a wood-fired oven to cook fresh pizzas. It’s an excellent spot to socialise.

Walkers, cyclists and mountain bikers are the most obvious folk to capitalise on the area, so it’s no surprise that the Brennands have provided every pod with a boot box and offer a power hose and wall racks for bike maintenance. Spin a few miles west to Gisburn Forest, one of the Forestry Commission’s ‘Super6’ mountain biking destinations, or simply stride out on the footpath from the farm. It’s all on your pod-step, which ever direction you choose.

Our Best Price Guarantee

We guarantee our prices at Cool Camping are the same, or lower, than booking elsewhere. If not, tell us, and we’ll match it or beat it. Full terms here.

Pods are insulated, heated, have double-glazed security doors and lighting inside and out. Power sockets and USB charging provided, as well as free WiFi to each pod. A double bed and sofa bed provide ample sleeping space, accompanied by a kitchenette with a fridge, sink with hot running water, 2-ring hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, cutlery, crockery, glasses, pans and utensils. Each has a foldaway wooden table with four chairs and they all have retractable fly screen doors. Green Top pods are a short stroll from their own private shower rooms, while the Gold and Silver Top pods are en suite. The Gold Top pods also have their own private hot tubs with jets and LED lights. All pods have a deck and patio with a fire bowl and barbecue rack. The Hub is a fabulous communal guest area away from the pods with tables, chairs, wood-fired pizza oven and a selection of family games to borrow, a laundry and local area information area. Hens roam around the site and you'll often see sheep and cows on neighbouring fields. Boot storage boxes are provided at each pod and there is an area to wash your bike, carry out maintenance and store them securely. Note: Gold Top pods also come with bedding and towels. Other pods include base sheets only. Extra bedding and towels are available to hire.

Suitable For

Glamping only: families, couples, friends, cyclists, walkers and outdoor enthusiasts all welcome. Groups can hire the entire site (no hen or stag nights). Dogs not permitted.

It's just five miles to Gisburn Forest, a Mecca for mountain bikers, perfect for an adrenaline-packed ride or a family-friendly pedal. Most trails start from Gisburn Forest Hub (01200 446747) with car park, toilets, picnic area and café. While you're there, a walk round the beautiful reservoir is a must. Excellent local market towns include Settle, Clitheroe, Skipton and Kirkby Lonsdale – all only a short journey away. Hop aboard a waggon on the Settle-Carlisle Railway (01729 825888) – England's most scenic train line is the claim – or take on the famous walking routes around Malham Cove and Tarn, where you can hop across the unique limestone rocks like a bug on giant puzzle pieces. The most hardy walkers can take on the Yorkshire Three Peaks (in a day) – Whernside, Ingleborough and Penyghent – enjoying Ribblehead Viaduct en route (a worthy landmark to walk to in itself).

Food & Drink

You can have your pod stocked up with lots of tasty items for breakfast and basics for your stay. Guests can have their shopping done for them and arrive to find their pods filled with top-quality breakfast ingredients and essential food items ready and waiting. There's also a wonderful wood-fired pizza oven available to hire for £10 per night, located at The Hub - the fabulous sheltered social space with seating, lighting and heat.
If you need anything else or have specific dietary requirements, just ask Joanne and John. Elsewhere, the nearest great pub is Craven Arms (01729 825627) in Giggleswick, or head the five miles to Settle for a wide range of cafés, pubs, restaurants and cuisines.

The Owner Says

We're Joanne and John and we have opened up a corner of our dairy farm between the Yorkshire Dales and the Forest of Bowland. Three generations of our family live and work on the farm and we have put our hearts and souls into creating a bespoke, luxury 'glamping' experience for our outdoor-loving guests.

Our luxury pods are specially-designed to be used all year round, with heating, insulation, double glazing and indoor cooking. You will never feel the cold, or experience broken tent poles and soggy sleeping bags. This is glamping at its best!

At Peaks and Pods we welcome families, couples, friends, cyclists, walkers, countryside lovers and outdoor enthusiasts who want to experience an exciting new place to stay. The five pods each sleep four comfortably. They're kitted out with private shower rooms, fully-equipped kitchenettes, pocket-sprung double beds, memory-foam sofa beds, folding tables and chairs, decked areas, private outdoor spaces, fire bowls (for fire pits and barbecues) and outdoor dining tables. You can even opt for your own private hot tub at two of the pods. There's great mobile phone signal and each pod has free WiFi.

Our unique, ranch-style Hub area offers guests a wonderful, sheltered social space to for everyone to relax, enjoy wood-fired pizzas and take in the views, maybe from the benches or wooden swing seat. There's a lovely atmosphere at night with festoon and fairy lights and you'll create memories you'll never forget.

Visiting cyclists will find first-class facilities for washing, repairing and securely storing their bikes on-site. There's also a little laundry, where guests can wash, dry and iron their clothes. There are board games, toys, books and outdoor games kept there too.

We're a 'green' business and have a Gold Award from Green Tourism. Electricity is provided by a wind turbine and solar panels, our hot tubs are heated using an air source heat pump. We encourage our guests to recycle and we provide environmentally-friendly cleaning products in every pod.

We believe that it is important that you can tailor-make your own experience, adding as many or as few extras as you want. Our extra choices allow every stay to be totally bespoke - perfect for your own needs. Let us know if there's more we can do to help.

We're looking forward to seeing you!

Excellent! I booked this (Corn bents) for my husbands surprise birthday and I did not want to leave after my stay. It’s the first time went on a glamping trip but definitely coming back to peak and pods! Joanne is an amazing host, I was regularly in touch with her before my stay and during. She guided me of how to plan things. I got the luxury pack- which didn’t include buntings and balloon but Joanne kindly added those. She met our veg/halal diettry requirements. The pod was really cute, and clean, very well maintained. The hot tub was amazing! Really close to nice trekking sites. Joanne also made a very yummy lemon drizzle cake for us! Overall it was much much better than I thought it’d be! Joanne John are lovely! Will definitely be coming again. The pot was really nice and warm for the snowy weather !

Relaxing stay

Such an amazing stay with beautiful scenery! Very clean and cosy and has everything you need and a little more! The hot tub couldn’t have been more relaxing, especially after a hike. Joanne and John were both lovely as well as the little chickens that came to visit us in the morning 🐔❤️ Overall an amazing, relaxing and comfortable stay.

Loved every minute of being here. Joanne and John have thought of everything. It works so well and you feel welcomed!

Absolutely superb and I highly recommend this place.

Wonderful welcome on arrival. The pods are clean and equipped with everything that you need. Remote and quite so very relaxing whilst still within easy driving distance to great walks and attractions. We loved it so much we went back the week after and will go again. Oh and the chickens are adorable and funny 🐓

A little piece of heaven

Enjoyed 2 nights at Holly Bush Hill with my daughter as part of her 18th celebrations. A perfect little retreat. We arrived to a lovely toastier hot tub and a freshly baked lemon drizzle cake! We didn’t want to leave. The hosts were so helpful and friendly and have clearly put a lot of work into creating and maintaining this lovely getaway.

Wonderful experience

We had a lovely time staying in The Folds. Everything was well thought out and the space was utilised to its maximum potential. The site is beautifully landscaped, the views towards the Dales are magical and having the chickens pecking about made us feel like we were part of the farm and the countryside. The quality of the items both in and out of the pods was very high and Joanne was on hand to answer questions very promptly.

Amazing Glamping Experience

Couldn't recommend this place anymore, modern 'camping' pods set in the beautiful setting of the Yorkshire Dales. Had high expectations after reading reviews and they were not only met but exceeded. A must do!
