Nearby

The seaside town of Withernsea is a 10-minute drive away from the hut. Here you can visit the Lighthouse museum, taking the 144 steps to the top if you fancy a challenge to see the expansive views or for the gentler approach, or you can stop for a coffee from the café and take a walk around the lighthouse gardens. If you want to make a day of it, you can also spend the rest of the day sunbathing on the sandy beach at Withernsea or enjoying an ice cream along the pier. Spurn Point is slightly further afield, taking around 20 minutes to get to in the car, it offers gorgeous walks to see the lighthouse and the abundance of wildlife surrounding it, making it well worth the extra distance. If you’re looking for a longer day out then the city of Hull is also a 20-minute drive away, offering attractions like The Deep Aquarium, numerous museums, restaurants, and bars, plus lots of shopping options.

Food & Drink

Dunedin Country House (01964630634) is located only a two-minute walk away from the hut. It serves great food and drinks - especially the cocktails, whilst also being one of the leading wedding venues in the area, so it’s fair to say they’re a good choice for special occasions. Cakey Bakey Yum Yum (01964631954) is a firm favourite of Joel and Philippa’s, serving up decadent cakes and sweet treats alongside hot and cold drinks, located in the village of Patrington, only a five-minute walk from the hut. The Nancy Inn (01964671117) is a country pub in the nearby village of Burton Pidsea, around a ten-minute drive away. Recommended by Joel and Philippa, it serves high-quality pub food in a relaxed setting. The Crown & Anchor (01964650276) is a pub located in the small hamlet of Kilnsea. It’s a 20-minute drive away from the hut, but it offers spectacular views across the River Humber and onto Spurn Point that are well worth the journey.
