Luxury Shepherds Hut on a family farm in Patrington

While exploring the East Yorkshire Countryside (known to them as their back garden) on a walk, Joel and Philippa, the owners of The Shepherds Retreat, decided to buy a Shepherds Hut so that they could share their breathtaking slice of countryside with others. But that’s where the sharing ends, because they know that going on a getaway is all about having your own space, at Shepherds Retreat you’ll have the entire place to yourselves, safe in the knowledge that you are not sharing your break with anyone but their friendly flock of sheep who can be seen grazing at your doorstep.

The Shepherds Hut offers uninterrupted views of the thirteen-acre pasture where it is set and the peaceful East Yorkshire countryside beyond, giving you the chance to wake up with sheep on your doorstep, living up to its namesake in the most traditional sense. The Shepherds Retreat is based on Joel and Philippa’s family farm in the centre of Patrington, meaning they will only ever be minutes away should you need them! Their family are arable and livestock farmers, keeping pigs and cattle a few miles down the road from the hut while the sheep (as well as the occasional resident hen) roam about on the fields that surround the hut.

Inside the hut, you will find a bespoke fitted kitchen complete with induction hob, fridge, microwave/grill and all the utensils you could possibly need. To keep things warm and toasty you will find a log burner with a plentiful stock of wood, blankets galore and a large double bed with views over the countryside. The living and dining area hosts a comfy sofa, dining table and additional bench seating. The bathroom comprises of a large power shower, a hand basin, and a toilet, complete with a towel radiator to keep the towels nice and fluffy. Outside there is seating for four people and a romantic wood-fired hot tub that is perfect for couples.

The hut offers the perfect blend of rural tranquility and charming village amenities. You can easily stroll to one of several country pubs, shops, restaurants, or cafes that are all located a five-minute walk away. Or you can shut off from the wider world and open the doors to enjoy the magnificent countryside. The Shepherds Retreat also solves the age-old countryside vs. seaside dilemma by not forcing you to pick! The nearest beach and seaside town of Withernsea is only four miles away, here you’ll find beaches filled with sand and shingles, ice-creams, fish and chips and all the ingredients to make the perfect beach trip. Whether you are looking for a hot tub break, a rural escape, a beach adventure, or somewhere unique to relax, The Shepherds Retreat ticks all boxes.
