The Owner Says

Peak Pods are beautifully crafted from environmentally friendly sourced larch wood, with a pine interior. They are insulated with mineral wool so they stay cosy in winter and cool in summer. Peak Pods have an integral shower room with heated shower, washbasin and toilet. There is also a heated towel rail and radiator in the pod, so there is no chance of getting cold & damp, unlike a tent.

The pods have a super comfy fixed double bed and a large sofa bed. They have a small but well equipped kitchen area with induction hob, fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster. There is also a table with chairs to sit round for meals or to play games together. Outside, each pod has its own natural stone paved patio with picnic bench for eating in the great outdoors.

What’s included in each pod?

• Comfy double bed & double sofa bed

•Fridge, microwave, toaster & kettle

• 2-ring halogen hob

• Gas central heating

• Electrical points, lighting & Bluetooth speaker system

• Shower and toilet

• Pots, pans, crockery & utensils

• Dining table & 4 chairs

• Outdoor picnic bench
 and chairs

• Stone patio with charcoal BBQ

• Communal fire pit

• Wonderful views of the Peak District!

What do I need to bring?

Bedding for the double bed is included but remember to bring bedding/sleeping bags for the sofa bed and towels (unless being hired).

How many people do they sleep?

Each pod sleeps upto 4 people. We also have a travel cot, which can be booked.

We do not encourage group bookings - please discuss any requests with us.

Do the pods have electricity? The pods have electrical sockets so you can charge your phones and bring a hairdryer if you want. There is also a Bluetooth speaker system to play music from your phone. Sorry, we don't have wi-fi but there is generally good 4G signal.

About Peak Pods

Suitable For

Glamping only. Groups by request only. Dogs are not permitted.

Footpaths lead directly from the site into the surrounding Peak District National Park and it is less than half a mile to both the beautiful Lathkill Dale and Bradford Dale. There are also excellent family-friendly, traffic-free cycle trails: the Monsal trail, Tissington trail and High Peak trails a short distance away. Nearby attractions include Chatsworth House (01246 565300; 15 mins by car) – a grand property with expansive gardens (save the whole day for exploring the place, it can't really be done justice in just a couple of hours) and Haddon Hall (01629 812855; 5 mins), a Tudor mansion with it's own gardens vying for your attention. The Heights of Abraham (01629 582365; 20 mins) near Matlock is also worth a visit. The hilltop park is reached via cable car, with cave tours, walking trails, fossil exhibitions and a small café.

Food & Drink

Marshmallows and skewers are available to buy on site. There's a trio of decent pubs in nearby Youlgreave (1 mile away) which all serve food: The George (01629 636292), The Bulls Head (01629 636307) and The Farmyard Inn (01629 636221).

Fantastic relaxing break

We stayed at Peak Pods over the Bank Holiday, the Pod was so much nicer than we expected. Very clean! The shower is amazing so powerful. The bed and sofa bed were very comfortable. The Pod gets very warm too. The kitchen was enough for what we needed, the fridge is on the small side but was fine for what we needed. The outside was lovely, clean and tidy and the flowers outside the door were a lovely touch. All the Pods were occupied but it was still lovely and quite. We will definitely be staying again. Great value break, hopefully we will have time to visit the farm next time.

Fabulous escape to the country

This was our second visit and I’m delighted to say the pods are just as lovely as they were in 2016. Spotlessly clean and very well equipped inside and out. A very peaceful location perfect for walking and getting away from it all. Thanks Nicola for another warm welcome.

Wonderful place to stay

We loved the pod - cosy but easily spacious enough not to feel cramped (family of 3); well equipped and absolutely spotless. The sofa bed was huge and very comfortable, the layout is very thoughtful and well designed and thoughtful touches like the Uno card game were great. It's a beautiful location - in its own field with 3 other pods and a willow hideaway and separate field with fire pit. We went to gullivers kingdom and tried a couple.of the walks nicola left out (laminated) for us. I cannot recommend the pods more highly and it was even more special after lockdown to have a change of scenery. And what scenery! Lovely to see the working farm in action and hear the cows right next to our pod.
