Luxury pod glamping with a swimming pool, tennis court and holistic therapies all available

This magical, hilltop glamping site is located across seven acres of land, with views over the Suffolk countryside. Surrounded by landscaped gardens and apple orchards, this is a place where people come to relax, recharge, and reconnect with nature. The site is just north of Lavenham, famous for its well-preserved medieval buildings and impressive 16th-century church, a glorious building of cathedral-like proportions.

Boasting underfloor heating and WiFi, the en-suite glamping pods have a comfortable double bed, as well as an additional sofa bed for larger groups. There’s a compact, fully equipped kitchen and a spacious dining area with a table and chairs. Outside, each pod has its own decking including outdoor seating, a fire pit, and a BBQ. Spend your days relaxing by the heated pool or exploring the grounds, with a brand new tennis court, a large picnic field, and a number of bird boxes, hedgehog houses, and bee hotels dotted around the site.

At the centre of Apple Mount Retreat is their giant ‘witch’s hat’ tipi, the perfect communal space for cosy evenings around the huge fire pit. It’s lit by hundreds of twinkling fairy lights, and with the sides up you have the best of both worlds, being both indoors and outside at once. The tipi also plays host to the various therapy sessions on offer during the day. Debbie, a Reiki Master and Advanced Shamanic Practitioner, holds various workshops and sessions such as yoga, meditation circles, and shamanic healing but you don’t need to take part in the classes to appreciate the natural beauty and tranquillity of the site.

If you’re itching to get out into nature there's plenty of options here. Follow the path of the old Lavenham to Long Melford Great Eastern Railway Line, a popular walking route now known as the St Edmund Way. Kentwell Hall is nearby, too, with the stunning stately home and its gardens hosting historical re-enactments for your viewing pleasure. Giffords Hall Vineyard provides another scenic stroll — as well as delicious wine — as part of its bookable tours. This all combines to make Apple Mount an ideal retreat for those seeking a spot of rejuvenation.

Scenic, Peaceful and High Quality

Everything about Apple Mount Retreat is high quality! From the welcome to the spacious and luxurious pods to the tennis court, heated swimming pool and tipi. We hired out all of the pods so had exclusive use of the site and it was a really great stay. Already planning the trip for next year :)

Idyllic cared for setting, 5 star accommodation with extras and then some!

The setting is serenely beautiful, the gleaming glamping pods have everything you need with a selection tea, coffee and milk and everything is very well cared for and maintained. Debbie offered the pool to open early or late should we need it, and it was at a comfortable 29c. I had very early reflexology with Daisy on request. Overall, the attention to guests was warm and helpful to ensure we felt nurtured and refreshed during and after our stay. Will definitely come back to stay again and recommend to friends and family.

That's great to hear, Doris, thank you. We're so pleased you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you back. It makes us really happy that so many of our guests book another stay later in the season and bring their friends and families along to enjoy our beautiful retreat for themselves.
See you soon!

Fantastic

On our way home after a very relaxing week at Apple Mount Retreat. Three Friends and I decided to book here after cancelling our holiday to Greece due to COVID. We can honestly say the 4.5 hour journey was worth it, this is by far the best UK holiday we have EVER been on. The accommodation and facilities would give most 5 star hotels a run for their money. If you are looking for a few days of tranquility with luxury accommodation then this is definitely the place for you. As we booked all 4 pods the retreat was exclusive to us and we took advantage of the tennis courts, amazing heating swimming pool and relaxing in the spectacular witch’s hat Tipi. This family run business gives you everything you need and more when you’re looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. The Jones family are amazing and make you feel welcome from the minute you arrive. Nothing is too much trouble and they go out of their way to ensure you have a fantastic time. A special shout out to Mother and Son Debbie and Dan (owners) the best way to describe them… nothing is to much trouble and they will go above and beyond to ensure you have the holiday you are looking for. If you are wanting to add that little bit extra to your holiday then I would highly recommend booking in for some treatments at the spa. A superb lady called Daisy works at Apple Mount Retreat and offers a number of different treatments, trust me when I say after an hour with Daisy you will feel like a new person. If you are wanting a luxury stress free getaway then this is the place for you. As soon as you arrive you can see the love Dan and Debbie have put into this wonderful retreat they have thought of everything from luxury bedding and mattress (like sleeping in a marshmallow) to the underfloor heating, walk in showers and woodland scenery everything has been carefully thought out and in our opinion the secret to their success in what they have achieved is they truly care.

Quiet, relaxing and peaceful

Such a relaxing and peaceful place, waking up to nothing but nature. The peacocks are beautiful, they came and stood right on the decking outside our doors. Debbie was lovely, made sure we had everything we needed, even making time to have a chat with us every morning. We went into Bury st edmunds and done an assault course at The Playground which was only half an hours drive away. Coming back to the pod after the exercise where we just relaxed in our pod, listening to the birds outside! The bed was so comfy and the underfloor heating was great first thing in the morning. The pods are so cosy, we shall definitely be back in the future.

Stunning and peaceful

We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay at Apple Mount Retreat. Friendly and approachable hosts who were keen to meet our wishes. Fascinating peacocks! Very comfortable pods with our own shower room, so no trek in the rain in the middle of the night. We were cycling and could directly access lots of quiet lanes around Apple Mount. Beautiful big skies. Quiet and peaceful.

Beautiful and relaxing

We’ve just had the most amazing stay at Apple Mount Retreat. The retreat itself is beautiful. It’s surrounded by lots of fields but is still very close to local villages (such as Lavenham). There are gorgeous peacocks roaming and you wake up to the noise of birds singing. The communal tipi is a gorgeous and calming space to just sit or meditate if you wish. We didn’t get to use the pool, but Debbie showed us around and it’s definitely very inviting! The accommodation was perfect with facilities such as a kitchenette with a toaster, kettle, microwave and cutlery/crockery you might need, a full en-suite, a sofa bed and a very comfy double bed (we both had the most amazing sleep)! Outside the pod is a barbecue, fire pit and decking area. My partner really enjoyed sitting on the decking playing his guitar. We didn’t get a chance to experience any of the therapies on offer, but they sounded very relaxing. The hosts Debbie and Dan were great! They were so chatty and accommodating. They’ve done an amazing job with the retreat and we will certainly be back!

Fantastic

This place was a last minute find and it was exactly what we were looking for. The glamping pods were very high quality, very warm and cosy despite the weather. Also, all the appliance and kitchenware were high quality as well. The hosts Debbie and Dan were very friendly and eager to help with anything at all. The retreat itself is a very quiet, peaceful place with clean air; the walk around Lavenham was very nice as well. Overall, a fantastic experience and I wouldn't hesitate to come back again.

Beautiful and relaxing venue

We’ve just had an amazing weekend at Apple Mount Retreat and have now arrived home feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. The luxury pod was so comfortable - the bed and bedding were of excellent hotel standard, as were the bathroom facilities. It was an absolute treat to have underfloor heating too. The kitchenette was well appointed and included a microwave, fridge, kettle and toaster. There are many places to eat a short drive away, including beautiful and historic Lavenham, so evening dinner wasn’t an issue but breakfast and snacks/lunch were easy to make in the pod. My husband also took advantage of having a full body massage in the Sanctuary by one of the therapists. Meditation is more my thing which I enjoyed in the massive tipi. There is a heated swimming pool and a brand new tennis court too. The photographs on the website are excellent but even better was the atmosphere of the Retreat. It was so peaceful and I can’t wait to book up again. Debbie and Dan who run the Retreat were lovely and friendly and I can’t recommend this place highly enough.
