The green, tree-sheltered space has a cracking location, close enough to enjoy all that the city has to offer but occupying a lovely rural spot where you can still feel in touch with nature. Situated at the end of a country lane between the Cambridgeshire villages of Trumpington and Great Shelford, it has space in abundance and, beyond the mature foliage, you can easily walk out into the endless landscape of the Fens.
Facilities include a well-equipped washing and shower block, a laundry and a children's playground, while your accommodation has all the essential glamping comforts, with two bedrooms furnished with proper beds (comfortably sleeping 4 adults or a family of 6), a kitchenette with all amenities – hob, fridge, microwave and plenty of crockery and cutlery – and a living area with a terrace that's ideal for contemplating the sunset over a drink or two.
As for things to see and do, Trumpington is a pleasant village, with shops and a couple of pubs, while Cambridge city centre is only a short bus ride away. It's hard to know where to start with regard to Cambridge's various attractions. You should certainly spend some time wandering its unique colleges and museums, try a spot of punting on the Cam, and maybe visit the pub where Crick and Watson unveiled their discovery of DNA: suffice to say, there is enough in Cambridge to keep you entertained for weeks on end. Which makes it all the more alluring to have somewhere so comfortable – and peaceful – to return to at the end of the day.
