Bower Farm, Little Haven, Pembrokeshire SA62 3TY
The Bower Farm campsite is a simple field, with simple facilities and the most stunning view. If you want to wake up to the call of farm animals and the distant sound of the sea, this is a special spot indeed. The sea you’re overlooking is St Bride’s Bay and the beach Broad Haven, which when the tide is out, offers a beautiful expanse of golden sand, flanked by low cliffs with rockpools. In the distance you’ll also be able to see the unspoilt wildlife reserve islands of Skomer, Ramsay and Grassholm.
The site is a family-run place, an offshoot of the farm’s popular B&B, and the field they’ve given over to it is fantastic – very large, with electric hook-up pitches along the top of the ridge and a few tent pitches mown into the grass, sheltered by a hedge at the bottom. As well as being one of the best, Broad Haven is also one of the more accessible beaches in Pembrokeshire, but if you want somewhere quieter you’re well placed to take advantage of all of the North (up towards St David’s) and South Pembrokeshire coastline, and the variety that it has to offer – from coastal walks, cycling routes, beaches, outdoor adventures and indoor castles.
The Owner Says
We stayed at this campsite last week (3rd Aug 2015) and yes the facilities are very simple and somewhat 'rustic' the view made it worth it! The owners of the Farm were nothing but helpful and pleasant, offering up their local knowledge to enhance our trip! I will definitely visit again.
