There really aren't enough superlatives in the English language to truly do justice to the sublime beauty of Pembrokeshire (take this bedraggled travel writer's word for it). So how about a few Welsh ones? Ardderchog! Trawiadol! Syfrdanol! Whether you know your Argoed from your elbow, the beauty of this place is pretty universal. Just ask the lucky visitors who've spent some unforgettable weekends at Rhosgadw Farm.

Hard as it is to believe, Rhosgadw Farm has only been putting up punters since the summer of 2012. So well-maintained the flat, grass pitches, you'll think your pleasantly attentive hosts (Hannah and Nick) are old hands at this camping lark. But that's the beauty of this place. While it is, first and foremost, a working livestock farm (morning-fresh free-range eggs are yours to purchase), there's lots of little touches to please everyone. The caravan contingent will appreciate the conveniently located hook-ups, while those opting for a touch of comfort get a beautifully-crafted camping pod – with cedar tiles and superb finishing, it's one of the nicer wooden pods we've seen.

With the golden sands and azure blue seas to admire from her sweeping cliff top panoramas (Whitesands Bay is a leisurely ramble down the road), visitors could be forgiven for neglecting to give due reverence to Pembrokeshire's hills. Thankfully for such aesthetes of the old terra firma, Rhosdadw enjoys prime views of Carn Llidi and Penberry Hill. Those hills aren't just the eye candy though, so be sure to ask Hannah and Nick for the best walking routes. The sunsets from Penberry are particularly lovely, with red kites and peregrine falcons circling overhead majestically.

So call it hyfryd or just plain gorgeous, whatever side of Offa's Dyke your tongue lies, the beauty of Rhosgadw is plain to see. And who needs words with a view like this?
