Grass pitch

UK Wales South Wales Pembrokeshire St Davids Spring Meadow Farm Campsite

  • Sleeps 5 (max 2 adults, 3 children)
Level, spacious 10 metre pitch suitable for tent or small campervan

The Owner Says

Spring Meadow Farm Campsite is hidden away behind tall willows, which makes it a cosy haven for campers. The level 1 acre field is ideal for young families, well away from roads and only a short distance from the toilet and shower block, where you will also find plenty of hot water, a fridge, washing up sink, washing machine and hair dryer. Please note, we do not have electric hook-ups.

Only 5 pitches are in use at any one time. Each pitch is 10 metres wide. Camping gear, kitchen tents, awnings and gazebos must be pitched within the 10 metre spacing.

If you come with friends we will do our best to site you on adjacent pitches (please provide details in the notes at checkout).

Family-friendly dogs can also camp here but must be kept on leads at all times and be genuinely family friendly.

Picnic tables:

Every pitch has its own picnic table which you can place where it suits, either in a gazebo or under a tarp or just leave it al fresco depending on whether you want to use it as a meal table, a work table or somewhere for the kids to do stuff.

Campfires, cooking and stargazing:

You can light a campfire in the evenings and enjoy its warmth and glow or you can hone your campfire cooking skills. Campers have roasted a chicken on a spit to perfection and stews are frequently made in dutch ovens so if you have a dutch oven or any heavy cast iron pots, do bring them with you.

You can also bring your own wood but logs and kindling are on sale at near cost price per net.

We've made it as easy as possible for you to recycle all of your waste. There are colour coded bins clearly labelled for glass, metal, clean plastic, cardboard, food waste and - as a last resort - landfill.

We have provided the facilities and we hope you will do your bit for the environment and recycle conscientiously.

Spring Meadow Farm Campsite is a Greener Camping Club members only site. If you are not already a member, please select the £10 annual membership fee from the extras menu on the following page. If already a member, please include your membership number in the notes section at checkout .

The spectacular Pembrokeshire Coast is within 3–5 miles to north, south and west of the campsite. There’s surfing at Newgale and Whitesands Bay, coasteering with Celtic Quest (01348 837337) at the blue pool Abereiddy and Island boat trips to see the puffins, razorbills, guillemots and many other sea birds – there are gannets to be seen on Grassholm and seals around Ramsey. Walk the coast path or try crabbing or sailing at Solva and Porthclais harbours. Horse riding is available at Nolton Stables (01437 710360). Castell Henllys, a reconstructed Iron Age Fort near Newport puts on activities for families throughout the summer – kids adore it.

Local delicatessen in St Davids – St David’s Food and Wine (01437 721948) – selling a variety of local produce. Gwaun Valley Meats (01348 840838) in Letterston sells quality local meat products and freshly cooked crab and lobster can be bought off the quay in Solva (and also from Porthgain and Roch). Perfect even in the rain

This was a second visit to this wonderful site and we were pleased to see a few improvements to an already near perfect retreat. We stayed this year at the end of May and the only disappointment was the on and off unpredictable rain. Lynne and Tim were lovely as before and the polytunnel converted into a dry area was much needed shelter and place to dry our waterproofs. We still loved the chance of a campfire, the huge pitch space , the clean facilities and amazing peace of this beautifully simple back to nature site. We will be back again...we love the area and having now experienced the wind we simply wouldn't brave the coastal sites. Just lovely.

Very family friendly

We were welcomed very friendly by the two owners, and were introduced into the simple, yet beautiful campsite. We were able to buy self grown vegetables and wood for a campfire. The sanitary facilities were big enough and always clean. There was an indoor place with a table tennis and other games, where you could have fun, independent of the weather. The owners of the site were very approachable and helped us finding our next camping spot on our tour through Wales. Thank you for your time and we'd definitely come back! Kerstin, Jens, Juri and Ole

Peaceful site in beautiful surroundings

Myself, partner and 2 daughters stayed here for 3 nights over the August bank holiday (23/8/19-26/8/19), and could not recommend the site highly enough. Well sited near to the gorgeous City of St Davids and the stunning Whitesands beach, we were instantly at ease and relaxed on this lovely little site. The pitches are spacious, but the limited number makes it feel very intimate, while the beautiful natural surroundings add to the tranquility. The facilities are all spotlessly clean and the hosts Lynne and Tim couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. We certainly would recommend this site and will definitely be going back.

Peaceful, roomy site

Site has extremely large pitches and having the car parked away from the tent is a great change and adds to the relaxed feel here. There are generally no more than five pitches used at anytime while the other pitches are alternated meaning the available space is more. Does not feel squeezed in here. Facilities simple but always clean. Hosts are extremely kind and approachable. The site is in a great position for exploring St David’s peninsula too. We had two weeks at this site and enjoyed every moment of it.

Response from Spring Meadow Farm Campsite

Many thanks for your review - it was a pleasure to have you stay and we hope you'll come again sometime.

fantastic small site for family camping

We spent a week on the Spring Meadow Farm Campsite this July and had a glorious time there. Of course, with the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, the fabulous beaches around St. Davids, a visit to the Island of Skomer there was plenty to see and do. But the site has also a lot to offer when you just want to relax a day or when the weather does not show its sunny side. There is a half greenhouse offering shelter from rain, to play a round of table-tennis or other games provided or brought along, or to have a meal in luxurious space. The pitches don‘t provide electric hook-ups, but there is a small camping kitchen with a fridge/freezer-combo. All facilities are in excellent condition and Tim and Lynne are just marvelous hosts. Thanks very much to both of them for a fantastic week in Pembrokeshire and we‘re looking forward to coming back! Roland, Dorothea, Yannick and Sarah Melzer
