About Coedfryn Farm

Suitable For

Campers, campervans, motorhomes, caravans, groups – yes. Dogs – no.

The farm has a little menagerie of friendly animals including alpacas, pygmy goats and a miniature Shetland pony. It’s on the edge of the Preseli Hills and within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park with all the outdoor activities you could wish for. Walkers will be happy here as there’s plenty of places to explore and two pubs within walking distance; one on a cross-country route. The closest beach is Newport Sands (five miles away), great for swimming, surfing and watersports. It’s one of six beaches around Newport. You can also join the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path here for lovely coastal walking and Poppit Sands, another lovely beach a few miles up the coast, is the starting point for this national trail. Between the two is Ceibwr Bay where you can see otters, seals, dolphins and seabirds. Try a trip with Kayak King (07967 010203) from Fishguard or a wildlife-spotting sea safari with Bay to Remember (01239 623558). On land, there’s horse riding on offer at Crosswell Stables (01239 891262), six miles from site and the reconstructed Iron Age village, Castell Henllys (01239 891319) five miles away.

Food & Drink

Don’t miss The Yacht Club Cafe, run by site owner Edward and his mum. The café overlooks the pretty little harbour in Lower Town Fishguard, 10 miles from Coedfryn Farm. Pop in to try a delicious lobster salad, crab sandwich or grilled mackerel. Closer to the campsite, there’s a 16th-century inn, The Trewern Arms in Nevern, a 10-minute walk along country roads, or The Salutation Inn (01239 820564), a similar distance across fields in the other direction. If you’re in Newport, your hosts recommend The Cat Rock Cafe (01239 820244) which sits within the golf course just off the beach which has uninterrupted views across Cardigan Bay and the Preseli Hills.

Beautiful, peaceful and the kids loved it

Coedfryn is a beautiful campsite. It is peaceful, relaxing and perfect for a family get away. Our kids loved the goats and llamas (or were they alpacas?), and Hugo made sure we had everything we needed to make our stay special. I would highly recommend Coedfryn!

Getting There

From the A487 about two miles east of Newport (Pembrokeshire) turn on to the B4582, signposted towards Nevern. Coedfryn Farm Camping will be on the left after another two miles.

The closest train station is at Fishguard (10 miles away) or Haverfordwest (20 miles away). Both are linked via the T5 bus route which connects with train services six days a week. Ask for the Temple Bar stop near Nevern from where it’s a 30-minute walk to site. It’s not a reliable option for Sundays so do check timetables before travel.
