The Owner Says

This 5m circular woodland camping pitch is located in our woodland campsite, and offers a more secluded and wilder camping experience than our meadow pitches do. It is approximately 5m in diameter, circular and ever so slightly sloping, has a sheltered area over a hand-crafted picnic bench, a hammock and a firepit. If your tent fills the ground space, we don't mind if you tie your guy ropes to branches and peg them into the woodland undergrowth. It is approximately 100 metres from the car parking. Our hot gas shower, flushing toilets and wood-fired hot tub (accessible to all our guests - in private timed slots) are also only a short walk away along a meandering rough stone path. There is also a communal sink area with clean drinking water and for washing your pots and pans. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead at all times.Just 100 metres of your tents, you will find woodland trails, the Pembrokeshire Coast Path and an inlet of the Tidal Estuary. Just a short walk up the country lane, you will find the local pub, serving hearty pub food, and for keen hikers, we are within walking distance to a number of great eateries at our local Marina. We are also a perfect base from which to explore the best that Pembrokeshire has to offer! We are just a 10 minute drive to our nearest beach (dog-friendly all year round - as are we), 20 minutes to the village of Dale (offering a whole host of watersports, as well as a decent pub and restaurant), 25 minutes away from the stunning Tenby and Saundersfoot (popular tourist destinations), 30 minutes from St Davids (and it's grand cathedral) and less than 30 minutes from a number of adventure parks (Oakwood, Blue Stone, Heatherton, Folly Farm) that are guaranteed to keep you busy.

It's a few hundred metres from your tent to the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, which you can follow to the Castle Pill Inlet of the Daugleddau estuary. From the water’s edge, you can continue to Milford Marina, home to a number of shops, cafés, a maritime museum (01646 694496), boat trips, a waterfront gallery and several popular waterfront bars and restaurants, or you can head along the coast path to the village of Hazelbeach and it's dog-friendly pub The Ferry Inn (01646 600270). It's a 10-minute drive to the unspoilt and dog-friendly beach of Sandy Haven, while the big sandy beach of Broad Haven is only a 15 minute drive away with a beach-side shop, pub, café and opportunities to hire wetsuits, kayaks, paddles and surf boards. For a spot of history, it's 15 minutes to Henry VII’s Pembroke Castle (01646 681510) and 30 minutes to the stunning cathedral (01437 720202) that classifies tiny St Davids as a city (the smallest city in the UK). Food & Drink

Depending on the season, the site will have fresh farm produce (pork, bacon, eggs, salad leaves, fish) available to buy. For a meal out, try The Harbour Master (01646 695493) and Martha’s Vineyard (01646 697083) at Milford Marina, serving fresh seafood dishes. There are also a number of lovely little cafés and shops along the marina front. The Jolly Sailor (01646 600378) at Burton is also excellent. They serve reasonably priced and hearty pub grub with fantastic views of the river. It also has seats outside, so you can take your dog with you. Finally, try a visit to Neyland Marina where The Bar (01646 602550) is particularly good.

Getting There

Please don't follow google maps directions to us, as it takes you down a bridleway rather than a road. Instead follow directions for sa73 1dn and keep a look out a couple of miles along the Waterston road (the B4325 between Waterston and Blackbridge) for a farm gate immediately adjacent to the blue gates of JP Auto's Garage (please note there are a set of blue gates in Waterston village itself, but we are more than a mile further on than this). Go through the farm gate (with the wooden sign of a wind turbine and tree) to the right of this garage, drive down the lane and go through the second gate on left (signposted Eco-escape). Head down the field to the gate in the middle (the parking area) and walk through gate with the 'no vehicles' sign. The glamping and camping meadow is to your left, the woodland glamping and camping area is through another two gates to your right. There is a wheelbarrow in the field you are welcome to use for your things (we don't allow cars in the meadow).

The nearest train station is Milford Haven (0845 748 4950) a 5-minute drive away. The nearest bus stop is approximately 1 mile away (walkable up a country lane), in Steynton. Taxis are relatively cheap - 01646 698818 (Jock's Taxis).
