The Owner Says
Looking for a unique break away from the norm? Tried out Camping and Glamping and fancy something slightly different, here’s our solution - meet Marshala.
Located in her own docking spot overlooking the stunning views surrounding The Farm, Cwch Tir Bach/ Small Land boat offers you a unique Glamping experience.
Measuring 36 feet long by 12 feet wide, we acquired her after she was run aground off the Pembrokeshire coast, and was perfect for our idea of a Glamping land yacht. We have refitted her, creating something totally different, all the fun of being on board a yacht, but without having to navigate, feel sea sick or fall overboard.
Below deck there are 2 cosy double cabins, and a children’s bunk cabin, she can sleep up to 4. The living area has seating with storage; a drop down table, TV with freeview, and the wood burning stove. The kitchen area is fully equipped with, gas oven & hob, sink with mains water, fridge, microwave, and cooking utensils etc... There is a wet room with shower, basin and WC.
Please note we don’t supply any linen apart from the base sheets, so you need to bring your own towels, pillows, duvets or sleeping bags.
About Tir Bach Farm
Campers, glampers, dogs (on leads), groups, campervans (no hook-ups) – yes. Caravans – no.
At the beginning of the farm track is Penrhos Cottage, a traditional Pembrokeshire thatched cottage, almost unchanged since the 19th Century. Roze has a key. Castell Henllys Iron Age Fort at Preseli hills (01239 891319) is a 20-minute drive. Llys-y-Fran reservoir (01437 532273) is great for fishing, boating, cycling and walking, and there’s a café and play area. Scolton Manor (01437 731328) is just outside Haverfordwest. The nearest beach is at Newport; kayaking and sailing at Cardigan Bay. There are other beaches less than an hour away, including Newgale (for watersports), Dinas Head (for cute little sandy beaches) and Newport Sands (for big sandy beaches). St Davids is 45 minutes away, with plenty of history to keep everyone amused. Llys-y-Fran reservoir is nearby for fishing and boat hire.
Food & DrinkThe Old Post Office (01437 532205) in Rosebush is good for home-made grub, including vegetarian and vegan options. Also try the traditional Welsh pub The Tafarn Sinc Rosebush (01437 532214) – good for meat-eaters. The Bont Pub at Llanglyden (01994 419575) does Sunday lunches. At Nevern there’s the 16th century Trewern Arms (01239 820395), which does decent food. For groceries try Bethesda Farm Shop (01437 563124) and café, which sells excellent local meat, veg and bread.
There’s a small river in the woodland at the bottom of the site. And don’t get kicked by a milking cow either.
Tir Bach Farm is located at Llanycefn, Clunderwen, Pembrokeshire SA66 7XT
Take a train to Swansea, then another to Llandovery. The campsite is a 10-minute walk, or there is a bus that stops at the supermarket 2 minutes from the site.
