'Luxury camping between mountain and sea', Seithfed Nef has views of both. Really, the owners' could use any number of straplines. 'One large bell tent in each field'. Or 'cook, camp and shower in view of Snowdonia'. Or simply, 'spectacular glamping in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. These all being equally exceptional, pertinent selling points. They could write all of the above in Welsh and leave English-speakers to translate, such is their national pride (their first language, and the language they use from day to day is Welsh, they mail out confirmation bookings in Welsh first, then English). Or, they could simply let the stunning pictures on their website do the talking…
Each bell tent is 6m large and situated in its own grassy field. Llwyn Isaf (Lower Hedgerows, the most sheltered and nearest the car park and barn), Cae Ffynnon (Spring Meadow, nearest the facilities), Rhos Uchaf (Upper Moorland, the furthest away) and Cil Rhedyn (Fern Corner, closest to the barn) are kitted out with stellar comfort and guests' privacy in mind. Fresh flowers, designer bedlinen, bedside cabinets and glasses for your welcome drink of bubbles are a few classy touches. Outside, are fire pits for barbeques, picnic tables, coastal sun sets that illuminate Snowdonia with a warm orange glow, and views. Views of the North Wales mountain range, scanning down to the sea, from yonder Caernarfon Bay over to the Wicklow Mountains all the way across the Irish Sea.
Facilities are shared, just remember to whistle as you shower in the outside one. Bunting and mirrors decorate the hut and the windows afford wonderful snapshots of nature, such al fresco showering feels deliciously primitive. As of 2013, this is an adult-only site, mainly for health and safety issues; think ponds, crumbling walls and farm machinery. This is a blessing for anyone not wanting to be woken by infantine woes re the breakfast cereal of choice, or the frayed cries or parents yelling at their offspring to leave the pigs alone. Those pigs provide delicious bacon that the owners sell along with sausages, which for meat-eaters makes breakfast time its own daily nirvana within a (seventh) heaven.
The nearest beach is Aberdesach. Snowdonia National Park is just 8 miles away. Caernarfon's 13th-century castle, and coastal towns, Pwllheli and Porthmadog, are all near.
Within 20 mins drive: Snowdonia and its myriad of activities, Caernarfon, a World Heritage Site wih a huge 13th Century castle. Ty Coch pub - voted one of the best beach bars in the world. Portmeirion Italian village, to name but few.
Contrary to popular belief this part of the world has a huge amount of things to do and places to go to suit all types. We're confident that if you request a particular activity we can direct to a place that offers it within a 35 minute drive from the site.
All roads and paths form the site have stunning views of Snowdonia and/or the sea - a walking and cycling paradise!
