Great wee site, great wee stay

My son and I were only on the site for a couple of nights but, regardless, the site was spotless, facilities good, nice welcome, and cracking views. I’m sure we’ll be back to use the site again.

Good campsite, value for money

Spacious campsite with flat pitches and good amenities, though the shower block is a long walk from the non-electric sites. Toilet block nearer the pitches makes up for that, unless you shower a lot! Facilities are good and clean - toilet, washing-up sinks, rubbish and recycling all together. Dog exercise area separate to the pitch sites. Showers are good and hot and included in the very reasonable price. Staff member was friendly and helpful. Can recommend.

Easy going camping

Loved it here. Loads of room and plenty of privacy even when busy. Very clean facilities and the river alongside the site was great too. Bala lake train just outside entrance to site which is well worth a journey. Reasonable prices and owner very hospitable. Will definitely be coming back next year. Thanks for a great stay.

Safe and relaxing site

It's clear a lot of hard work has gone into making this site what it is. The facilities are very clean and bins are never overflowing. Plenty of space to pitch a tent not close to others. The kids loved the play area and playing by the river. They made lots of little friends and spent hours running around together. My little boy is a massive train fan which first attracted us to the site as Bala lake railway is right behind the site. The kids always got a wave and a toot from the driver as the train went past. The location is very convenient and we visited Barmouth beach for a day out which is only 25 mins away. We also walked into the local village for ice creams and saw there was a pub/restaurant there too. Bala it self is only a 30 min steam train ride away or 10 mins in the car. Will definitely be back. Many thanks to the site owners

Fantastic campsite In a beautiful area

I spent 3 nights here as a lone female tent camper, I felt very relaxed and completely the whole time, no creepy or uncomfortable moments at all, the facilities were clean and there were toilets and washing up facilities close to non-electric camping so I didn’t have to walk too far in the dark if I needed the facilities in the night. Because there were no groups on the site, the evenings were quiet and relaxed. I’ve found having a campfire is important to me when I’m camping, it gives the relaxing light and warmth that I need to feel comfortable in the evenings and it isn’t often a campsite both allows campfires and has good facilities, I often find they advertise themselves as more of a ‘wild camping‘ experience when they allow campfires, but this place has it all. I highly recommend it and I will happily book this site again when I’m visiting Bala lake.
