Welshpool Camping
Given it boasts Powis Castle as well as the Powysland Museum, you'd expect Welshpool to be the capital of Powys, the largest county in Wales. In fact, historically, Welshpool is in the county of Montgomeryshire, with the town settled on the side of the Montgomery Canal as well as the River Severn, which skirts around the east. The waterways, forests and verdant surroundings make the place an excellent spot for camping holidays, however you choose to consider it and, thankfully for 21st century campers, there's plenty of choice in the area.
