The Owner Says

Right next to the river, Derwen is in a stunning location. Sit quietly enough and this is the spot from which to catch a glimpse of the otters  and other river wildlife while you relax on the deck with a glass of wine. Because of its proximity to the river, this tent may not be suitable for toddlers or young children.

A double bed and a double futon sleep 4 in comfort. Our tents are equipped with bedding and towels, solar lights and lanterns (although a torch is always handy) On chilly nights you can light the wood burner to keep warm. Our tents are raised up off the ground on a wooden deck, and a well-appointed private camp kitchen is a few yards away, with a gas hob, crockery and all basic kitchen utensils, cool box and table and chairs. There is a fire pit too, along with the all-important BBQ grill for outdoor cooking.

There are 2 compost loos, 2 showers and 2 washing up sinks near the tents. There is a flushing loo, fridge, freezer, microwave, phone charging point, kettle and WiFi near the parking area.

Please note that cars are not permited down the track near the tents, but we can provide wheelbarrows for you to ferry your personal items up and down.

Brilliant

We really enjoyed our stay. The bell tent was lovely and we really like there was a small area with a table, chairs and kitchen. This was perfect when it rained we could still all eat together and it allowed us to put our little to bed in the tent and still stay up with out disturbing her. We would love to go back again, loved being up in the field and still had access to the river. Tom and Ruth were very helpful and a joy to meet. There was a beach not to far away and many things to explore near by. Would highly recommend if you want to chill in nature listen to the owls at night and have a lovely camp fire under the stars. Thank you Tom and Ruth for a lovely holiday.

Beautiful...Picturesque...Totally relaxing

Just back from a weekend at Henfryn Farm. Will definitely be returning. We stayed in the Shepherds hut which is just stunning and with the new bathroom facilities; it is perfect. The hot tub was lovely to relax in, in the evening. And the fire pit is great for cooking the food we bought from the farm. The family are so welcoming and very friendly to deal with. A definite must for a nice chilled weekend

Lovely peaceful place

We had a gorgeous weekend at Henfryn Farm with our two young sons over Easter bank holiday. Unfortunately our car broke down on the way and Rob very kindly came to help us out so we still made the trip. The whole farm is a peaceful tranquil place with great facilities for a family. We staying in the Onnen bell tent which was lovely. Beds were great and the log burner was great on a cold April morning. The kitchen , toilet and shower were spotlessly clean and all worked great. Being able to buy wood, eggs, meat, cider on farm was a bonus as we couldn’t get off site due to car trouble. The river running down below the farm was lovely and the kids really enjoyed paddling in it. Rob and Mhairi were brilliant hosts , approachable and kind. Will definitely return. Highly recommended.

The hot tub is dreamy and the caravan give you the privacy you need. The owners above expectations to make sure your stay is fabulous.

Loved it

It was a great peaceful glamping two days, wish it had been longer, The kids loved the hill down to the tent and the large area to play in with out disturbing anyone else the tents have lots of space between them, with only 3 in a large field, loved the wood stove and comfy beds....the cheese and gin tour was interesting and we loved the dolphin watching from the beach at New quay.

Getting There

The postcode SA44 5BB brings you right down the campsite lane but then stops at their neighbours, keep driving and you will come into the yard. When coming from the West you will come into Pentrecwrt on the A486, as you drop down into the village you take the first left on the B4335. You will come past the Black Horse pub on your right and then a little further, the Plas Parka Pub. Turn 2nd left just after the pub, this is a single track lane tucked in between a hedge and a white house, not the bigger road which is 1st after the pub. If coming from other directions you will likely join the A486 at Llandysul, follow the signs to Pentrecwrt and take the first right onto the B4335 and follow the directions as above.

The nearest trains are at Carmarthen station and from there a taxi to the farm takes about 30 minutes. Limited bus transport.
