Orchard pitch

UK England West Midlands Warwickshire Stratford upon Avon Twitey's Tipis and Camping Meadows

  • Sleeps 5 (max 5 adults, 0 children)
A more secluded pitch for those wanting a bit more privacy.

The Owner Says

Children are able to explore the grass pathways, play Hide-and-Seek and use their imagination.  Evenings around the campfire chatting with family and friends, watched over (hopefully) by the twinkling stars, allows for a lovely end to the day. To enhance the experience of camping in the meadows, vehicles are left in the  car-park.  Barrows are provided to help move tents and kit to your pitch, unusual  but  fun, especially for children who often get a barrow ride from mum or dad. With cars parked up away from the camping, all can play safely in their surroundings. From here on in – you can relax, chill and enjoy time next to your own camp-fire.
Sorry, we are a tent camping site only and therefore cannot accommodate bookings for caravans or motor homes. We have no electric hook ups anywhere on site.
These particular pitches are fenced off from the rest of the site, set amongst our growing orchard. Complete with water stand pipe. For Adults only, this area is designed for a slightly more peaceful stay. During Low Season 1 September to 31 October 1 car is free with every pitch. Additional cars must be selected as an extra.

Recently refurbished, Other pubs close by are The Ferry(01789 269883) and Baraset Barn (01789 295510) both in Alveston; there’s also a plethora of culinary delights to be had in nearby Stratford upon Avon.

Family Friendly

If Stratford-Upon-Avon's Shakespeare is too high brow for the kids then a little jousting, muck slinging and catapult throwing will liven things up at Warwick Castle. Just make sure no swords or pikes make it back to the campsite.

Rural yet well equipped

We pitched up in the Orchard which was quite secluded and having our own firepit was great - well worth getting the fire starter kit! The hot water wasn't working in the barn for washing up, but boiling the kettle provided was fine (this was getting fixed). COVID also meant that we had to wait our turn for the sink, so had to time our washing up well! John was really informative and helpful and usually about if we needed him. We'd like to come back in the summer when the weather is a bit less chilly.

Friendly, Covid-safe camp site

Good location, only a short drive from Stratford, but nice and peaceful. Owner and manager both very welcoming. The (proper) toilets were clean and we never had to queue, but we didn't use the showers so can't comment on them. The on-site shop was handy (but bring cash), and the Saturday night pizza van was a nice touch. Pitches are well spaced, and it was lovely sitting around our fire pit. Personally I think it's nicer not being able to park cars by the pitches, but be warned there's a little slope from the car park to one of the fields, and steps back down because of the Covid one-way system.

Orchard retreat

Great location to visit the beautiful Stratford upon Avon. Huge campsite but due to the plot locations within the mowed meadow, it means privacy for each plot. Fire is a great solution to those concerned about doing it safely as its dug deep into the ground. Great facilities. Kind welcome by the onsite staff member Perfect getaway.

Great camp site

The two of us have just got back from a night camping at Twiteys and we had a great time. The pitches are a good size and well spaced out; it’s a great idea having each pitch as it’s own mowed area surrounded by long grass. Adds privacy and a sense of solitude! The fire pit was a nice touch. The guy at reception (I think it’s Chris?) was great, helpful and friendly. The toilets are very clean and more than usable. The on-site shop is well stocked and a good idea. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Lovely meadow camping

We just got back from a weekend camping at Twitey's, and we had a great time. All the pitches are nicely spaced out from each other so you don't feel crowded in by other campers. Having a firepit is a major plus too, it's not camping without a fire! Rarely had to queue for the loo, handy shop on site, and Saturday night pizza van! Shower temps a bit temperamental but other than that, would highly recommend this site! We will defs be visiting again.
