About Elmwicke Camping
Everyone! Tents, campervans, motorhomes, caravans, kids, dogs (on leads)...
It's 10 minutes to the western edge of the Cotswolds (and around 15 to Sudeley Castle and Cleeve Hill), Cheltenham and the medieval town of Tewkesbury, host to one of the largest medieval festivals in the world. Sherdons Golf Course in Tredington is a five-minute drive away, they have a good pirate themed mini golf adventure round which is great fun for all ages. The Forest of Dean is around 40 minutes away, where there are lots of forest trails for cycling, as well as a sculpture trail to walk. Puzzlewood is a particularly fantastic place to visit here – the wood has been used as a filming location for many major films and television programs, including Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings. Gloucester is just 15 minutes’ drive away, the Cathedral there, too, is another must see for all Harry Potter fans, try and match the setting to your favourite scenes.
Food & Drink
The Gloucester Old Spot (012426 80321) is a 20-minute walk away or a couple minutes’ drive, the freehouse serves local ales and ciders and their food has been included in the Michelin Guide to pubs. Five minutes’ drive away is The House in The Tree (01242 680241), a great country pub with outdoor and indoor space as well as a children's play area and animal petting zone. No.3 Restaurant (01242 903790) is just over a ten-minute drive away, serving everything from a full English to their renowned tomahawk steaks. Their main restaurant is lovely but there's also a charming outdoor dining space, which is covered for all weathers.

If you’re travelling from the South, exit the A38 by taking the second exit onto Estcourt Road. Carry on for a few hundred yards and then take the second exit, again travelling onto Estcourt Road. After just under a mile, take the third exit at the roundabout onto Tewkesbury Road. Half a mile later you’ll come to another roundabout, take the second exit (again onto Tewkesbury Road). Continue for just over a mile then take the first exit at the next roundabout. Carry on for just over four miles and then turn right onto the A4019. Continue for a mile and then turn left onto Stoke Road. Follow the road for a mile or so and then turn left onto Copse Green Lane. Elmwicke Camping will be half a mile on from here on your left.
The nearest train station is in Cheltenham Spa (five miles), which has a taxi rank outside.
