These pitches are on the edge of or inside our woodland. All come with stone firepit and a pitching area to suit most tents and awnings.

Ashbourne Woods is a beautiful woodland camping site catering for all types of camping and overnight stays but which specialises in wild and semi wild camping within the 68 acres of woods.
These wild camping pitches are away from the amenity block and inside or within the woodland. Fires are permitted within the stone fire pits provided in moderation. The campsite also supply wheelbarrows for moving your camping equipment to and from your car as the walk is a little farther.
At the reception area they have water supplies and also a new washroom block. The washroom block has male,female and unisex sections, which have showers, toilets, washbasins and hand dryers. They also have 2 utilities and a laundry room, the first utility/laundry room has a washer, a coin operated dryer, 2 sinks with a drainer and 2 fridges. The second utility has 2 washing sinks with drainers,work surfaces, a kettle and 2 fridges with small freezers.
Cars or any vehicles NOT ALLOWED on grass. Must be parked in car park unless Glamping with adjacent parking.
There are plenty of walks nearby and great cycle paths too! Dartmoor national park is just 2 miles away and the quirky Totnes Town is around 5 miles away. For some good pub grub visit the Church House Inn which still has the original church interior.

A footpath through the campsite leads to the village of Rattery, its 11th-century church and the wonderful local pub (see Food & Drink), while Totnes, 5 miles away, is the nearest town (a hippy, alternative scene with some great independent shops and galleries). Dartmoor, however, is the main attraction. Bring an OS map to make the most of its walking and mountain biking trails, while, 12 miles in the opposite direction, Paignton and Torbay beaches beckon .

Food & Drink

You can get free-range eggs in Rattery village or drive to nearby Dean Court Farm Shop (01364 642199; 2¾ miles) but you'll need to head to South Brent (2 miles) or Totnes (5 miles) for a proper supermaket. The local pub – Church House Inn (01364 642220) – serves excellent and sizeable pub grub and has an outdoor pizza oven in summer. It also has a pleasant beer garden.

Getting There

From either Exeter or Plymouth approach via the A38 Devon Expressway and exit at the Rattery exit. This is a very small and tight exit so approach with care particularly from Plymouth Direction. Follow signs to Rattery Village and Ashbourne Woods entrance is on left hand side 1 mile from A38. Postcode TQ109JZ will take you 100 metres past the entrance to Ashbourne Farm. There is a barrier on entrance. You will be given code with your booking confirmation.
It's 5 miles to Totnes train station (0845 748 4950) and a taxi from there costs around £10. The nearest bus stop is a 15 minute walk away on the A385, its on the Plymouth to Torquay route.
