The Owner Says

Back to basics camping just like it used to be! If you would like to camp in an open field, under the stars, with a small campfire outside your tent, where you can sit and watch the night sky on a clear night with a beer in your hand then this it the camping site for you. Facilities are a clean toilet and shower with free hot water, a drinking water tap, a fridge freezer, washing machine and tumble drier and a plug for an electric hair drier. For families there is plenty of room for children to run and play in the camping field. Children are most welcome to visit the farm animals, we will show you around.  Collect freshly laid eggs, from the hens for breakfast. Being close to Exmoor there is very little light pollution; when you are staying remember to look up and see the stars! We also allow campfires.

We do accept dogs but as we are a working farm with livestock in all the surrounding fields, we would prefer dog owners to contact us directly so we can express the fact and the importance to keeping dogs under close control or on a lead at all times.

Relaxing, romantic, rustic

Came here for a birthday weekend had such a lovely time. The hosts were very friendly and let us know that anything we needed to let them know. The cabin was super romantic and cosy. Having the fire lit in the evening was a real treat with a glass of wine. The hot tub was amazing... once we got it going. A little bit of a pain to heat up but more because we were fire starting novices! Once in in watching the stars was just incredible with no obstructing lights. Went to a recommended pub for dinner Pyne Arms and it was delicious. Very close to our favourite beach croyde bay. Was just perfect. Waking up to the sound of the stream and the sheep! Just what we was looking for. Thank you so much!!!

Lovely camping trip - can't wait to do it again.

We chose Westland Farm as it is close to all the great places we wanted to re-visit in North Devon, like Lynmouth, Exmore, and Woolacombe. It also appealed as I liked the immediate surrounding countryside - a bit more interesting than just a dead flat field surrounded by other flat fields. It's dog friendly (it is a working farm so kept ours mainly on a lead, except when just sitting next to us around the camp fire) oh and they allow campfires - another tick on our happy box. My camping partners are not great camping fans, so was delighted to hear them enthuse about how nice and warm the shower block was. Also a treat to chuck an apple or two to the pigs - their pen is opposite the shower block. Our car conked out as soon as we got there, and Nicky and her husband (the farmer owners) were really supportive and offered their help where ever they could. Overall, despite car disaster (had to get a few taxis to go out), we had a really great time. Thanks Nicky and family!

Peaceful, romantic and safe

A tranquil stay in the country. Beautiful hut, ones own separate bathroom with an amazing hot tub, fire pit and log burner. Local pubs and walks are close by car. Nicky was very friendly and welcoming and close by if needed. A real treat of a stay and one we won't forget.

Amazing relaxing f

We stayed in the Yurt for 2 nights, Nicky was a great help with the fire, nothing like sitting in a hot tub with a glass of wine in the rain. Nothing was too much trouble. Great facilities our own shower, which was lovely and powerful, toilet and kitchen. All COVID friendly. Definitely recommended, cannot wait until next summer. Also recommend the Black Venus pub, food was gorgeous.

Calm and clean site with superb views!

We stayed in the shepherds hut with hot tub which was lit when we arrived! Clean and well equipped hut with lovely picnic bench outside and great barbecue! Toilets were clean and showers hot with excellent covid precautions. I felt safe which allowed full relaxation! Nicky and Andy were very welcoming and helpful with all questions. Thank you!
