Never has there been a campsite more aptly named. It took this reviewer 20 minutes and two phone calls to find the place, despite the satnav indicating that I was around 200 metres away. Persevere, though, and the determined camper is rewarded with a brilliant little piece of England to call their own. Our tip is to look out for the sign for Moor Lane Nursery as, rather sweetly, the day-to-day business here is growing and selling gorgeous plants.

What this means is that the whole place is beautifully designed, with stunning plants at every turn. A stroll through the site is a revelation, revealing nooks and crannies peppered with comfy chairs, a barbecue, picnic tables and a wishing well along with essential amenities such as a fridge-freezer, microwave, kettle and so on. Its proximity to Croyde Beach means that it’s a favoured hangout of the surf crowd but, thanks to its tranquil, private vibe, it attracts the more chilled variety of surfer. There’s unspoilt countryside in every direction and you’ll share your stay with butterflies, owls, egrets, bats and dragonflies (plus the lovely Steve and family – this is their home and they'll be on hand to accommodate in any way). Back to nature, then, but with the bonus of the lively village of Croyde just down the road.

Best camping site been to ever

The owners vets who stays, so you don’t get rowdy people , beautiful location, lots of space to pick from with 3 fields, surfing beaches within 5 to 10 minute drive, all facilities cleaned thoroughly every day, all in all a site I would definitely come back to.

Brilliant all rounder

We stayed here for three nights at the start of September 2020. Firstly, the welcome from the owner/manager of the site was very warm and welcoming, a very through tour and introduction to the site and surrounding area. Available via telephone or just around the site most of the time. We were able to choose our own spot (we had 5 people across 3 tents) which was brilliant because we could be next to each other and choose to be in one of three fields- you can then choose whether you want to be near the amenities, in the field with lots of families ect. Plenty of extra grass space when we went for playing games ect. The amenities were very clean and well kept; little indoor kitchen with washing up facilities, microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle, sofas and bench/table seating area. Further outdoor washing up facilities near another field, external tap for washing wet suits etc, 4 showers in total, with plenty of space, very clean, hot water and decent pressure, 4 toilets in total again, clean. No matter what field you are in, you are close enough to access one or the other facility. Blocks provided for BBQs off the grass (rule of the campsite). Beautiful gardens and seating areas within. Absolutely stunning area with plenty to explore; short walk into Braunton (advised as the road in gets very busy and is very slow) but plenty of little shops, food, pubs/bars and supermarkets. Braunton Burrows a slightly longer walk or short drive to the car park where you can explore the impressive sand dunes and wonder down to the beach which is just incredible and the area we went to had virtually no one around for miles. Croyde a short drive away for extra activities, we did coasteering (with coastline sports), surfing and lovely walks along the top. Close enough to stuff but far enough away that its silent at night. We honestly we felt we had struck gold with this site, very good value for money and beautiful. Thank you!

Peaceful well kept site with flat pitches.

A peaceful site with 3 separate camping fields. Facilities well maintained at all times by the owners Steve and Jo. Easy access into Braunton - a flat 15 minute walk. Helpful map provided on arrival with good local detail. Saunton and Croyde beaches nearby. A good base for touring the area by bike or car.

A refreshing change from the usual campsite experience

Unfortunately we only stayed one night as our friends car broke down, Steve was very helpful supplying jump leads but in the end we needed a tow truck. The site was spacious, well laid out and the gardens were a pleasure. The toilets were regularly cleaned and compared to most campsites - spotless. Looking forward to spending more time at the site on our next surf trip!
★★★☆☆

Peaceful but pricey, good location

Great location for exploring the coastal delights of Saunton Sands, Braunton Burrows and Croyde, with lots of outdoor activities. The campsite itself is fairly small and quiet - if you have active children, be aware that you will need to make all your own entertainment. This makes it a peaceful site, but £50/night is expensive for what it is. Owner generally friendly and helpful, but over-zealous on recycling as other reviews have mentioned - to the extent that he went through our bin bag in front of us!
★★★★★

Lovely Secluded Spot

Welcomed to the site by Steve, another one(!), and shown the ropes. Very well laid out with toilets block and showers clean, tidy and with products left out to able to wipe down if you are Covid anxious. Shelter was well presented and full of useful stuff as others have said and the recycling clearly labelled and easy to follow. Reduced bookings meant that there was plenty of space on the fields between campers and no issues socially distancing. It is a 20 minute walk in to Braunton itself where most things can be found and the little stores in the estate is only 5-10 minutes walk with most essentials. Overall a really pleasant few days spent in the north of the south west.

Lovely spot close to the beach

Really enjoyed coming here. Everything is well laid out, plenty of space and super clean and tidy. Easy to get to the beach and into town and a really nice laid back vibe. Will be returning!

Spacious campsite with good facilities walking distance from nearest town

The campsite was very quiet despite it being a bank holiday weekend so we had lots of space and didn't have to wait for long to use the toilets/showers. The camping shelter was a great facility, with fridges, a freezer, sinks and a toaster available for guests to use. The gardens were beautiful and there were lots of lovely outside spaces to relax in. The campsite is about 20 mins walk from Braunton so handy if you want to go for a meal/some drinks. The cows were quite noisy in the morning but what do you expect when you go camping? One slightly strange thing was that someone seemed to have gone through the rubbish bag that we put in the black bin and taken out an item that we didn't believe was recyclable to put it in the recycling box. We're all for recycling, but going through people's rubbish is going too far!

Perfect spot!

Plenty of space between pitches. They had deliberately taken less bookings due to Covid but I'm sure there would be plenty of space under normal conditions too as there are 3 separate fields to choose from. Great facilities - 4 x showers; kitchen with fridge, freezer, sink, seating area; 4 x toilets; beautiful and peaceful gardens to chill out in; 2 x outside sinks for washing up plus additional drinking water tap; recycling and rubbish. Everything was kept immaculately clean and cleaning products were also available to clean yourself if you so desired. Easy to walk into Braunton and also across the Braunton Burrows (incredible sand dunes) to stunning Saunton beach. You can also connect to the South West Coastal Path at the Burrows. Campsite is quiet at night - other campers very nice and respectful. Would definitely stay here again. Can recommend Squires fish and chips and At One restaurant if you want to eat out - both within walking distance in Braunton.

Relaxing stay in good location with all facilities we needed

Friendly and super helpful hosts, great location for us near to Saunton Sands and Braunton and with all the facilities we needed. Thought we might miss having an electric hookup but the charging point took care of what we needed quite easily. Nice and quiet and our pitch was away from everyone but the nearby cows.

Scrupulously clean communal areas, hot showers, working toilet, great camping fields and what a view. The location is perfect to dash to Puttborough, Saunton and Croyde when the surf is up and extremely close to a great little shop, Braunton and Croyde. We loved our stay and will be back. Highly recommended.

Relaxed, tranquil campsite

3 lovely camping fields - flat, with few pesky peg-damaging rocks, and sufficient shelter from high winds Facilities were kept scrupulously clean by campsite owners, and mask wearing was required in confined spaces (although not always followed by all campers). Never had to wait for a shower and only once had to wait for washing up facilities. Lots of fridge and freezer space, mobile phone charging, two indoor washing up sinks (plus 2 outdoor washing up sinks) and a small indoor lounge area. There was a friendly mix of families, surfers, people touring by bike or motorbike and others - no late night noise or other anti-social behaviour Gardens contain lots of hidden spots - hammocks, ponds, fire pit with bbq etc Overall a lovely site

Wonderful 4 days

Can’t recommend this place enough. We had reservations about camping during Covid and there was a lot riding on this - as it was my wife’s first time under canvas. Glad to say the campsite was beautiful, the showers and toilets were spotless and there was loads of room between tents. Lovely atmosphere, very kid friendly. Our two loved it and my wife will camp again. Thanks Secret Spot for a perfect staycation!

Beautiful campsite with excellent facilities!

Fabulous campsite which lives up to its name! The owners welcomed us on arrival & showed us around the site. We were allowed to pitch our tent on any of the 3 fields all of which were well maintained with water taps & bricks available for Bbq's. Showers & toilets were kept very clean by the owners & other campers. Fridges, freezers , toaster & electrical points were available in the campers shelter. Beautiful secret gardens with peaceful places to sit were amazing! Lovely stay , would definitely recommend!!

Lovely peaceful campsite

We spent a week at this lovely campsite, blessed with sunny weather. The owners have kept the site quiet and peaceful with only a few tents in each field. And they worked round the clock to keep the showers and loos clean. We really enjoyed our stay. The gardens and fire pit area add to the special atmosphere, and it was great to be so near the dunes from where we could walk to the beautiful Saunton sands beach.

Lovely campsite in a quiet location

We've just returned from a week at Secret Spot and really enjoyed our stay. It was a lovely campsite, with excellent facilities - the washing areas were very clean. The garden areas were so pretty and relaxing. The pitches were really well spaced out, so we didn't feel overcrowded and it was nice and flat. The location was great to access the surrounding area and we explored a walk to the dunes (which were immense!), bike hire from the town to ride along the Tarka Trail, a few days at Woolacombe beach and a visit to the NT Arlington Court, which had a pleasant forest walk. Would recommend booking restaurants in advance as they are very busy at the moment. Overally, a great campsite and would highly recommend.

Lovely quiet campsite in great location

We spent a very enjoyable week at Secret Spot. The washing facilities were very clean and other facilities were very useful too, such as charging points. The campsite was not overcrowded and we had a very peaceful time. The pitch was flat with very few creepy crawlies! The location was great for a walk to the sand dunes; bike hire in Braunton for the Tarka Trail; short drive to Woolacombe beach and also the NT Arlington Court, which had a pleasant walk. We all had a great time and would definitely recommend.

Loved it - already booked to come back

This was our first family camping trip. Having spent 16 years trying to convince my partner to go camping lockdown, a few garden camping experiences and the inability to go abroad finally made him give in. We loved this site so much that we booked to come back within 24 hours of leaving. The site is very clean (for a camp site). The facilities are amazing with places to sit and relax all over the place. Other guests were friendly and welcoming and the site was not over populated (a sign of the times I guess but it added to the experience). The local beaches are simply stunning and lots of fun for riding the waves as well as exploring the rocks. We didn’t have much luck with restaurants or takeaway in the local area (another sign of the times) but it hasn’t put us off and we’ll be better organised next time. Cannot recommend this place enough. Our new favourite spot.

Wonderful family run campsite in perfect location!

Jo and Steve have built this campsite into such a wonderful place. We are just back from a perfect few days here. Just outside Braunton Secret Spot is perfectly located for easy access to all the best beaches. The facilities are immaculate and well maintained. There is also a lovely garden for guests with a hammock our two boys adored (I'm afraid it got used as a swing when back were turned!). We can't recommend more highly. Thank you! Fab campsite with stunning views

We chose this secret spot for our first extended family camping holiday (6 nights) and it didn't disappoint! Beautiful grounds, super clean facilities and a laid back vibe that suited us and our two kids (aged 5 and 7) perfectly. The kids enjoyed the spacious green fields, the gorgeous gardens and playing with Ash the resident doggy! The view down towards Saunton Sands gave us a stunning sunset from our tent door every night of our stay. The owners are friendly and chatty, always happy to help. A selection of amazing beaches are only a short car hop away - our fave was Croyde for bodyboarding. And Morte Point is a great trip out to view the seals at play! The perfect simple, easy, laid back campsite. A real gem and we would definitely return!
★★★★★

Secluded, friendly, well run

Steve, Jo and Ash have an absolute gem of a campsite in this pretty and secluded location. My son and I were made to feel very welcome by Steve, who took the time to give us some pointers and directions to local shops etc. Quality of site facilities and hygiene are prioritised and nothing is too much trouble; I had a flat battery on my car and after having an attempted push start from Steve and fellow campers, Steve himself offered to connect my battery to his mains trickle charger...he is a star 🌟 They say it's the people that make a venue, well we met and got acquainted with a fantastic bunch of people-which is down to Steve having the right kind of customer stay on the site. I will not hesitate to recommend Secret Spot and look forward to staying there again sometime soon.

Beautiful spot for a quiet family holiday

Secret Spot Camping is a beautiful campsite in an ideal location just a 5 minute drive to the gorgeous sands of Saunton beach. The campsite has lovely little gardens to explore, as well as a very useful lounge area with fridges and places to charge phones (next best thing to electrical hook up). The facilities were exceptionally clean and the owners have worked very hard to ensure it is safe for 2020 visitors. The toilets and showers are unisex but private enough for it not to be a problem. A lovely campsite that we would definitely return to.
★★★★★

Lovely site with exceptionally clean facitities.

A site with everything you might need provided - we had a lovely 8 day stay. My children loved the site and had many games of hide and seek in the beautiful gardens. My pre-teen really enjoyed having chilling out in the hammock too. Steve and the team ensured regular cleaning of all the facilities and cleaning materials were available for you to also clean up after yourselves to ensure that no cross contamination takes place. Really recommend this campsite and a visit to surrounding areas. We visited a different beach every day! Thoroughly recommend a day at Crow Point - a very sweet natural beach away from the crowds. Just £2 (in cash) to access the toll road that leads to this lovely spot.

Best Campsite I’ve Stayed In!

Secret Spot Camping is the most lovely campsite. The facilities are just wonderful! There is a gorgeous garden with outside seats and a hammock, a fire pit, properly plumbed and very clean showers and bathroom set in wooden cabins and a reception area with fridges and a freezer! The couple who run it are very welcoming and have put great thought into post-COVID camping, providing each group with loo roll and hand sanitiser. I love that they are pro recycling also. Peaceful and pleasant find

We booked for two nights at the starting end of a busy bank holiday weekend for the site. Our two teenagers loved the space and we loved the set-up with great showers and a handy indoor kitchen area. The atmosphere was ordered but relaxed with plenty of secret spots for chilling out. We hope to return.

Unique, peaceful and tranquil.

After being told by our daughter, who stayed here for two nights on a school trip, that it was "the best campsite I had ever been to" we just had to come and check it out. Our stay was brief, just two nights, but wonderful. The campsite is peaceful and tranquil, with lovely views over the hills. The showers and toilets were clean and plentiful for the number of pitches. There is a choice of outside or inside washing up, with use of fridge, kettle and toaster in the communal kitchen with seating area (and ability to charge phones!). The mazes of paths through the gardens are a wonder; beautiful plants and flowers with little hidden seating areas, an absolute delight, especially for the children, every walk back to the camp was a different route. Steve was very welcoming and had lots of interesting information about the local area. We will definitely return and stay for longer next time, and hope to go on one of the evening walks to discover the secrets of the dunes. We borrowed the bricks to have a BBQ one evening, and next time intend to make use of the communal fire pit in the evening. Really easy to get to the local beaches, very close to Braunton (although you wouldn't know it) and out to the rest of the area. Quiet and peaceful but children are very welcome. Really friendly owners. Two nice size fields, which makes it seem smaller than it is due to the hedge in the middle which is nice. Overall if you are looking for a unique campsite, enjoy peaceful camping and don't mind children, in a beautiful part of the world, close to some amazing beaches and wonderful sea to play in (from the expert surfer to those who just want to paddle), this is the site for you. Thank you for an amazing stay, we will be back.

Serene, well managed and fab location

Secret Spot is an absolute gem, a small place with a very peaceful atmosphere. The owners are extremely helpful and friendly, and clearly put a lot of effort into the management of the site, with its spotless facilities and beautiful gardens. On a lazy day you can chill with a good book, surrounded by gorgeous flowers and a small pond. It’s situated very close to Braunton Burrows, which is an amazing landscape to explore and a 30 min walk across it will take you to Saunton sands. Overall we’ve had nothing but a lovely experience the 2 times we’ve been, and will certainly be camping here again.

A little piece of heaven

Having returned to camping after a few years off I couldn’t believe my luck to have found such a perfect site!! I have returned twice in the space of a few weeks, once with my family and once alone. The site is perfectly located to explore the beautiful North Devon area, the facilities are great, especially the campers hut, with fridges, toaster, kettle and very comfy sofas. Perfect to hide in when the weather is bad and to congregate. The whole site, toilets and showers are exceptionally clean too. And the gardens, with all the hidden seating areas and campfire just add to the relaxed, loved feeling. But what makes this site special are the owners (and the dog!). From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome and nothing we asked was ever too much trouble. Steve has great knowledge of the area, many great stories to tell and can direct you to all the spots not usually on the radar. I will go back again and again!!!! Thank you so much for welcoming me Steve, Jo and Ash!!

Quiet, well-managed, family site

The site achieves its stated objectives. We liked the fact that it was restricted to tents and small camper vans, with no hard-standing, electric hookups or other facilities that caravans seem to require. The field was never full during our stay, despite it being school summer holidays. The toilets and showers were always kept clean (without having the daily 30 minute closure that happens in some large commercial sites) and we never had to queue. We particularly appreciated the self-serve fridge, freezer, electric kettle and toaster plus the lounge area on cooler evenings. The site is close to the Tarka Trail for family cycling and good beaches. The Tesco supermarket in Braunton is handy and can be reached via lanes, avoiding the permanent town centre traffic jam.

Lovely Simple Site

We loved staying here, as a relaxed group of girls we want a campsite that was relaxed enough to have a single group but not so relaxed that we felt unsafe. This was perfect! Very simple site and lovely family feel, with the owners being so helpful and lovely! Garden area and kitchen area is brilliant with amazing "camping bonus'" such as the kettle and microwaves. The toilet facilities are very simple and the unisex factor was a little odd, however wasn't an issue. Facilities were generally very clean!

What a find!

This campsite has it all with two lovely camping fields on either side of the well thought out central amenities. Plenty of free showers( with lots of space and hooks) Loo’s sinks and pot wash areas. The campers kitchen is a real bonus with kettle, toaster, microwave and fridge. Camping made easy! The garden was our real highlight. It’s been designed to have lots of cosy corners with chill out furniture (the rocking sun chair was my favourite) and meandering pathways were great for games of hide and seek. Steve and Jo were really helpful offering top tips on places to go and how to get there. The site is really well placed for easy access to The Tarka Trail and local beaches at Saunton and Croyde. Even though it’s a secret it’s easy to find and access. Highly recommended. But keep it 🤫 we don’t want everyone to know!

A quiet and idyllic spot

I don't want to tell anyone about this lovely campsite! It needs to stay a secret 😂 A great location, away from the bustle but within walking distance of Braunton and a short scenic drive to the fantastic beaches along this coast. The owners clearly work hard to make the campsite work for their guests - regularly cleaned toilets (hand soap, air freshner and cleaner available for proactive campers) and showers (lots of hooks!), great kitchen area making up for no electric hook up with loads of fridge and freezer space. The kettle and toaster were very welcome. Lots of space on the camping fields. Then there is the lovely gardens! Fun for the kids to explore, lie in the hammock and play hide and seek. The effort and hard work of the owners makes this site a great find and one we will return to.

Beautiful & peaceful spot with great facilities

We had a lovely few days here. The gardens are gorgeous and the facilities brilliant. It's a short drive to the beach and a perfect place to escape for a few days.

Quiet site - pretty much perfect :-)

Stayed here for two nights with my twin boys and can't fault the place. A friendly chat with Steve on arrival was completely consistent with the thought that's been put into making this a really good family site. Plenty of space to pitch, charming gardens to relax in and clean facilities also including fridge, freezer toaster and - if want it - electric kettle! If you want a quiet, low key relaxing spot that's good for families this place will do you well! Thanks - we'll be back:-)

Quiet, safe for children, great facilities.

We stayed here over a weekend in June, with our two young girls (5 and 8). We found the campsite to be perfect for our children (they loved the hammock and looking into the shallow pond in the garden), and there was lots of safe space for them to run around in. The weather wasn't perfect (chilly nights, and raining when we packed up), so the communal kitchen/room with the kettle, fridge, toaster etc, added a welcome bit of convenience when needed. It's a peaceful spot, with really nice birdsong at dusk, and the occasional small bat flying around - which is great to see and hear. I managed to leave my coat at the campsite, and a quick phone call to Steve (the owner), led to it being swiftly posted back to my house - Thanks Steve! We would thoroughly recommend this campsite to anyone looking for a peaceful site that is a stones throw away from the beautiful (but often manic) beaches in the area.

Not as good as we expected

Firstly, I am a keen camper. I spent 35 nights camping last year, and will probably beat that this year. I have stayed in some fantastic campsites. I look for friendliness, ease and their ability to facilitate that relaxed camping feeling. On this occasion, myself and 6 other campers in our 30s (3 tents, 1 van) were ending a week tour along the south coast. Secret spot isn't a terrible campsite, however when I booked it, I did so on the excellent reviews and description. However, I feel my experience did not live up to the expectation, so I am writing this to help others. Firstly, the campsite is effectively 2 fields (where you camp) and a lower area which has a nice garden and the facilities. On arrival there appeared to be some confusion with our booking, the owners seemed to think we'd cancelled one of our party (which we hadn't). As a group of 7, the first of our party were told we'd have a field to ourselves, however when the rest of us arrived we were told we'd be sharing the field with a family with 3 young children. We don't mind camping near children. We are quiet and respectful (we like campfire crafting and star gazing), however got the vibe we were being told to be quiet before we'd even set up. We got shown round, with a lot of emphasis placed on the campsites no fire rule. The 2 fields are just plain fields, like any budget farm campsite. Our pitch has some roped off dirt along oneside. The small gardens near the facilities are very pretty, but we didn't spend much time here. There is a small fire area. When we passed it, some people had already began using it. In my opinion more fire areas are needed, as it is unfeasible to offer one small fire area for a whole campsite. Also, it was a fair way from where we where camping, so having to lug wood would have been a hassle (one which we wouldn't have minded, but other people may see this as an issue). We love having a campfire at night. We have a raised firepit/bbq we usually use, leaving no trace. I have no idea why using these for bbqs is allowed, but fires is not. Offering designated fire areas is a great idea, but they need to cater for the amount of people who wish to use them. The showers and toilets were okay. There 'grass' outside this area is fake, which was odd! There is an emphasis on recycling, which we liked. We didn't use the kitchen area, but poked our head in, and it looked okay. Location was okay, a short walk to local pubs and surf shops. A slightly longer walk to a (busy surf) beach. Overall, it seemed overpriced for us...

Thank-you for your lengthy review which I find ill-informed and inaccurate in many areas! A lot of your points seem to revolve around our Fire/BBQ policy which is clearly stated on the website you booked on. It is also repeated on the booking confirmations, two of which are sent prior to arrival - along with explicit directions to find us - plus of course we are on Google Maps. We are only just 500 yds off the main road after all. We have no signs up it’s true, which is why we send you the email(s) with directions. This is our private home and we don’t want the world and his dog knocking on our door every 5 minutes..Your description of our fields being ‘budget farm campsite’ is completely erroneous as the many pictures on this website and our Facebook Page will testify. The ‘roped off area of dirt’ you mention is in fact some boundary work in the top corner where a new bank/fence/windbreak has been erected partially due to a free grant of 345 trees/saplings/hedging plants from The Woodland Trust. (This is completed, just waiting for the grass to grow back). In effect then you had the top field to yourself (and one other family) and so there was plenty of room without going anywhere near that area. I spoke to the only other family in that field on Sunday morning and asked where you were. They said that when they explained they had an 8 month old baby you were very nice and had promised to be quiet.. and you were. They said you had left early Saturday morning. Since you only arrived Friday evening you were onsite for barely more than 12 hours. It seems that from your comments you never actually used any of the facilities just ‘poked our heads in’. As for value.. Everything on site is free, there is no timer on any of the hot showers etc. and how many sites provide a Campers Kitchen/Fridges/Microwave/Free Wi-Fi etc? The gardens are not just ‘pretty’ they are beautiful and require a lot of hard work. Hands up, there was some confusion when you arrived as several bookings all arrived at once. I am sorry you do not seemed to have enjoyed your stay here but I feel that this is down to incompatibility rather than anything else. What you wanted and what we offer are two different things.. We are generally friendly and helpful (see other reviews) however hugging people when they leave isn’t really our style. I urge you in future to read the campsites details more carefully before you book!  You still gave us 3 out of 5 Stars so I will allow myself a small ‘Yay!’   Regards Steve.

Hidden gem of a hideaway campsite.

Very friendly and helpful hosts, who did a great job at keeping on top of cleanliness and making sure facilities were up to scratch. Really handy having fridges and simple pleasures like a toaster, kettle and microwave. Great location, just tucked away enough, but convenient for local beach and shops etc. We definitely would like to return. I would go 5*, but always worth having something to aim for! Thanks again for a great break Secret Spot (Steve and Jo)

Nice campground in very good location

Friendly owner who keeps the facilities clean enough. The fridge needs a good cleanup. There are a two (!) electricity points in the kitchen and some old sofa’s to chill on. Good wifi. Nice beaches down the road (you need a car) and good restaurants in Braunton. From the campside you can hike to the dunes.

Thanks for your review. The fridge is checked and cleaned regularly however this did become difficult during the recent heatwave (2018) with the sudden influx of extra campers, especially given the amount of food left behind. We are considering adding a 3rd fridge for next summer.  Not many campsites offer this facility at all. Secure device charging is available in reception area had asked!  Saunton Beach access is 1.7 miles (6 mins by car or 33 mins on foot) according to Google Maps. Thx.

Sweet relaxing

This is a great campsite, on the day we arrived the owner said it was his busiest weekend, but it was still a fully relaxed experience. Showers were excellent after a day on the beach, the campers shed was bliss and everyone was chilled.

Gardens

Nice campsite , beautiful setting and gardens to walk thru, clean showers but toilets could be better. Owner very friendly and gave a lot of info. On this website is tagged as " short walk to the beach" , but bear in mind that short walk is about 2.5 miles.

Thanks for you review. We are always totally transparent about the distance to the beach..  To be clear.. according to Google Maps- Saunton Beach is 1.8 miles, 6 mins drive or 33 mins walk. We do advise people that they are better off driving and saving their energy for the beach itself. As this is our own home we live on site so the toilets/showers are cleaned multiple times a day. We are generally on hand to rectify any issue once we are made aware of it! Regards Steve

Beautiful setting

Lovely little campsite , kids loved it , there's a little pond, a hammock, nice gardens to walk thru . Clean showers, toilets clean enough even tho could be better . Very friendly owner gave lots of info. On website this campsite is listed as " short walk to the beach", well that was a 2.5 miles walk lol, so not too short. Short drive to croyde bay and saunton beach.
