The place itself is a smallish site, but a spacious one, with excellent facilities and two well-equipped safari tents, each with two bedrooms and proper beds (they can sleep up to four adults or a family of six), a kitchenette with hob, microwave and fridge (plus pots, crockery and cutlery) and a living area that extends to an outdoor terrace. There are decent, modern facilities (shared with fellow campers and caravanners) that including individual showers rooms each with their own toilet and sink and a laundry and washing up area.
As for the surrounding area, it's a corker! Tavistock is a very pleasant Victorian market town, on the river Tavy, with remains of a once-famous Benedictine Abbey, and has plenty of places to eat, drink and shop. Dartmoor is right on your doorstep, and yours to explore; and national cycle route 27, which runs from Ilfracombe to Plymouth, passes within 200m of the site so you can ditch the car while you're here and walk and cycle to your heart's content.
