About Brookshill Farm

Suitable For

Glamping, camping, tents, kids, dogs, groups (hiring the whole site) – yes. Campervans and caravans – no.

Brookshill Farm is just a five-minute drive (or a pleasant riverside walk) from the charming village of Culmstock. Lots of the parish falls under areas of the Blackdown Hills, so expect plenty of stunning walking trails further east but, right from the site, there's a nice footpath beside the River Culm that leads in to the village then head north through the high street (and past the pub) and up to Culmstock Beacon for some of the best views in the area. In summer, in particular, the land around the hill is full of bell-heather. It's around 50 minutes each way to the beacon and back. You could also detour to the butterfly sanctuary located on two small meadows, Little breach reserve. The city of Exeter is 30 minutes’ drive away – visit the art galleries and museum’s, spend the day lazing by the quayside or book in for a guided tour to make sure no nook is left unseen. It's 45 minutes to Seaton, Sidmouth and the south coast.

Food & Drink

The nearest pub is the Culm Valley Inn (01884 840354) in Culmstock, a five minute drive or 30-minute walk beside the river. The Globe Inn (01884 821214) is just ten minutes’ drive from Brookshill Farm, offering everything from summer salads to sizzling steaks while overlooking the Grand Western Canal, the perfect option for a post dinner stroll. The Bakehouse Café Bar (01884 35222) is around 15 minutes away, they serve mainly Mediterranean inspired dishes alongside Italian pizzas and a bar full of wines from all over the world, local ciders and a mix of classic and traditional cocktails.

Very tranquil with easy access to river walks

It was great to be able to have a fire and enjoy the peace and quiet in a very quiet, spacious site.

Amazing weekend away in the countryside

We had a fabulous experience camping in the meadow field over the bank holiday. It is ideal for those who want to be away from it all and to get back to nature. The owners were super friendly and helpful too- we will definitely be back again soon!

Getting There

If you’re coming from the north, bear left off the M5 when you see signs for Tiverton Services, then take the first exit at the roundabout onto the A38. Continue for under half a mile till you come to another roundabout, take the first exit onto the A38 again then continue for around three quarters of a mile before turning left onto Broad Point. Carry on for half a mile then turn right. After another half a mile make a sharp left turn onto Brooks Hill, the postcode takes you to a farm just below Brookshill Farm called Five Fords Farm, keep going past here and then you will see Brookshill Farm on your right.

Tiverton Parkway Station is five-minute taxi ride away. Taxis run out of station on a regular basis or, for a cost of just £10, Stewart or one of the family can collect you. The main coach stations are Taunton and Exeter, both operate a bus route to Uffculme from where you can also be collected.
