On-site facilities
The entire site is off-grid, there is no mains electricity. Facilities are shared by all camping guests. There is a small wash house containing a composting toilet, a washing-up sink, and a hot shower. There is drinking water (tap) at the wash house approximately 50m from the camping areas.

The nearest town is St. Just, a 20 minute walk or 5 minute drive away, where you can also find buses, bike hire, a library, cafes, pubs, shops, takeaways, and a post office.

Camp fires
Fires are permitted in two shared fire pits. Firewood is provided. You may bring your own BBQ, but it must be the kind that does not burn the ground.
Children & pets - We are very sorry, but the site is not suitable for infants or children under 5 years. Also no pets please - we have 2 border collies that are accustomed to human visitors, but they're not friendly to other animals on their patch.
No cars allowed in the camping meadows. Parking spaces are approximately 25m from the tents. Due to limited space, only 1 car per tent please. If you want to bring a large vehicle like a van or 4x4 then please tell to us about this at the time of booking.

About Little Leat

Suitable For

Glampers only, children over five – yes. Campers with their own tents, campervans, motorhomes, caravans, dogs, children under five – no.

The campsite is in the Tregeseal Valley and it's a short walk out onto heather moorland where there are lots of prehistoric sites including Tregeseal Stone Circle, which is only half a mile from the site on the distinctive Carn Kenidjack and Ballowall Barrow. The nearest town is St Just, a 20-minute (mile-long) walk, or a five-minute drive away, where you can also find buses, a library, cafes, pubs, takeaways, shops, and a post office. The closest beaches are the rocky coves past St Just: Poth Nanven and Priest's Cove both of which have a little paddling pool carved out of the rock. You can head out on foot on the stunning South West Coast Path, which takes you to hidden coves and gives you the chance to watch for dolphins or explore the area's mining heritage. A particularly scenic route is north to Botallack, where old engine houses from the mining industry still stand and the dramatic scenery will be familiar to anyone who watched the BBC series Poldark.  For surf and sand, head five or seven miles south to Gwynver or Sennen Cove. Try Sennen Surfing Centre (01736 871561) for surf lessons. Land's End is just beyond the beach and it's not much further (nine miles from the site) to Porthcurno and the famous open-air Minack Theatre (01736 810181).

Food & Drink

St Just town has quite a few pubs and cafes. The Kings Arms (01736 788545), The Commercial (01736 788435), and The Wellington (01736b787319) all have good pub menus. The Square sandwich shop (01736 786766) has a good variety of take away options, including gluten-free while The Dog and Rabbit (01736 449811) and The Cookbook (01736 788622) are both great cafes.

Rural Paradise!

Such a beautiful spot to camp-so many different little areas to explore. The tents are really well equipped-Jo and Simon have pretty much thought of everything but if you need something they're only too happy to help. The hot shower/compost loo/washing up block is perfect and the STARS are something else, the site is so dark! St Just and the surrounding area is well off the beaten track so you can definitely get away from it all and Jo and Simon are a real mine of local information. It's a magical experience camping at Little Leat and I'll DEFINITELY be back!
