About Coverack Camping

Suitable For

Tents, campervans, caravans, well-behaved dogs – yes. Groups and noisy folk – no.

The campsite is situated above the beautiful fishing village of Coverack. It is an easy five-minute walk down to the beach and harbour via an off-road, scenic valley walk. The beach is suitable for swimming and Coverack Windsurfing Centre, which operates out of the harbour, offers lessons in windsurfing and equipment hire for stand-up paddleboarding and kayaking. The southwest coastal path passes through the village. Porthkerris Diving School (01326 280620) is six miles up the coast and the beautiful beaches at Kynance Cove and Lizard Point are both within 30-minute's drive of Coverack Camping. Roskilly's Farm is three miles away but can be reached via a lovely walk through the fields. There (along with eating ice cream – see below) you can join a pottery lesson run by ceramicist Sally Tully (book in advance).

Food & Drink

On a warm sunny evening there's nothing better than a cold beer and fish and chips sitting on the sheltered harbour wall; try the takeaway options from The Lifeboathouse (01326 281 400). Also in the village is The Paris Hotel (01326 280258) which serves food and also does takeaway. Archies Loft (01326 281440) is a cute little cafe serving Roskilly's Ice cream and quality takeaway food. The village store has a range of goods including local produce and, for special occasions, try The Bay Hotel restaurant (01326 280464). Roskilly's Farm is the best place to try the family's well-known Cornish ice cream, as it is direct from source. There's also a casual restaurant on site that serves breakfasts and lunches.

What a beautiful location!

I had a wonderful camping stay here with my children, the location is just amazing and one of the best I have stayed at in Cornwall. The campsite is lovely and clean, it has a chilled atmosphere and is the perfect location to tour around the west of Cornwall. We travelled to Sennon Cove, St Ives and Penzance with ease. The composting toilets are brilliant, the children soon got used to them. The showers are hot and there are even charging sockets for your phone etc. We will definately be returning.

Beautiful clean site

A lovely quiet relaxed site with well-spaced out pitches across several different fields all nicely sheltered by good hedging. The long drops loos were clean and some of the nicest we have used, the showers and communal area are great. We had a lovely afternoon in Coverack out on the water and then spent a wonderful evening having a barbecue and campfire under magnificent dark skies. The views across the fields were absolutely stunning and the native hedgerows were buzzing with bees and butterflies. Plenty of great walking to be done with lots of opportunities for ice-creams, cream teas, pasties, etc to be found in Coverack and surrounding villages. The campsite also has well signposted water points and waste/recycling area. All in all an idyllic spot!

Beautiful location, wonderful site owners

The campsite is located just a 5 minute off-road walk from the beautiful harbour of Coverack, which is a wonderful place to enjoy an evening swim, drink and takeaway fish and chips. For such a small place the village stores stocks a really good supply too. The campsite itself is immaculate- the facilities kept in amazing state throughout our stay. It was an incredibly peaceful stay. And we couldn’t have asked for more welcoming site owners. We cannot wait to visit again. Thank you

A wonderful experience, to reignite our love of camping .

Thank you so much for having us ! We came to your campsite as campers who have not been under canvas for many years and we could not have asked for more. The sites were a lovely size, we didn’t feel like we were on top of our neighbours at all. We would never have guessed this was your first season, the site was so professionally set up. The showers and toilets were absolutely fine and much nicer than we were expecting for long drop toilets. But it was the tranquility of the site and the peaceful surroundings that really made it special for us. The walk down to the village through the woods was just lovely and made a great early morning dog walk. I think there is every danger that we will be back next summer - thank you so much for reigniting our love of camping.

Brilliant site. Excellent location.

The site is well located for lands end, lizard penisular, beaches etc. The village is great and dog friendly. There are excellent local shops in the nearby villages and some good restaurants. Larger sainsbury's also quite accessible. The site is lovely with many smaller fields for more privacy, pitches are a good size. Hosts very helpful and gave us a very good quiet pitch for our large dog. Showers and toilets clean and showers good with hot water. Plenty of toilets. Good local surf and sailing schools which our daughter used. Would definitely camp here again.

Getting There

From Helston, take the B3083, past the Royal Naval base Culdrose. Turn left at the mini roundabout on to the B3293 towards St Keverne and follow the road past Goonhilly Earth Station (you'll spot the satellite dishes). Just before getting to Zoar Garage, turn right and, after a mile, turn left. Follow the road for a further mile and you will come to the campsite on your left. This is the back route in to Coverack village. Access via the village is ill advised for touring caravans and large campervans.

The nearest train stations are at Truro and Redruth. There is a direct bus service from Truro to Coverack. From Redruth, take a bus to Helston and then the local bus to Coverack. Services are by provided by FirstGroup. The campsite is a short walk from the bus stop.
