Exclusive Van/Tent Pitch

UK England South West England Cornwall Bude Bakesdown Farm Camping

  • Sleeps 8 (max 8 adults, 7 children)
One private-hire pitch, in a two acre field, with excellent views of the surrounding countryside.

The Owner Says

The Exclusive Pitch is sited up the lane from the farmyard. The field, and all the facilities within it are solely for your use.

The large mowed area is about 14 paces across, with a firepit in the centre. In two little huts just off the pitch are the compost toilet, and the lovely hot gas-powered shower.

The drinking water tap is sited beside the shower hut, and has a washing-up sink alongside. There is no hot water tap, just ice-cold water, fresh from our bore-hole. Please note, if you wash your face with this first thing in the morning, you will wake up VERY fast.

This field has a stoned gateway leading to the stone parking area. Your car is only a couple of metres from the pitch, but never leaves the hardstanding, so this is perfect for campervans, or for those needing easy access to their vehicle.

Rubbish and Recycling is just beside your parking area, so very easy to access. Please recycle all you can.

Fridge, Freezer, Charging Point and Logs/Kindling for Sale. These are available in the farmyard, and are a shared resource for all the guests staying at Bakesdown Farm Camping. There is no fee for the charging point, but you leave items for charge at your own risk. Logs cost £3 per large bucket, and Kindling is £1.50 a basket.

Quiet and Charming

Thank you for a brilliant camping experience. We stayed on one of the exclusive pitches with composting toilet, fire pit and gas shower (lovely and hot) - and what a super experience it was. Hosts were very friendly, and we had access to the communal fridge, charging points, and could collect wood and kindling for a small fee (honesty box) at the yard - a three minute walk away from our exclusive pitch. Very quiet and peaceful with beautiful views and great access to Bude and surrounding areas. Would recommend!

Wonderful holiday

We had such a fantastic holiday at Bakesdown Farm. The site was immaculate, as were all the facilities. A warm welcome, but space thereafter to enjoy your own space. Very quiet site with respectful campers. Great to have the use of a fridge as well as access to a freezer for ice blocks which we ended up not really using. Having a washing up sink in our grill was a genius stroke, albeit cold water only. Beautiful, tucked away location. Idyllic. The only issue that stops it being five stars (and I’m agreeing with other reviews here) is there is only one toilet and one shower!! They are just as lovely as the ones in my own house, but at home it’s only the two of us using it! Here there were 16. We will definitely be coming again and try the site with its own facilities. 😍😍

Perfect mini break away

We had an amazing stay in the cabin. It was very well equipped and had everything we needed. We loved how secluded and private the site was. Having a campfire in the evening was so peaceful. The host was really friendly and helpful. We definitely recommend a stay here!

Stunning location, fantastic facilities

We stayed on a simply camping pitch for 3 nights. The site was very quiet as there were only 4 pitches. The view was gorgeous. The shower, toilet and fridge/freezer were all excellent and impeccably clean. The wood, kindling, eggs, ice cream etc were all on an honesty box system which was great. The only thing we’d change was having to walk a short distance on a country lane to get to and from the facilities - it was mostly empty but on occasion a fast car past and this was something we watched carefully with our children.

Wonderful stay in the cabin

Really amazing stay. The owners are very friendly and the location is fantastic. Loved waking up surrounded by nature. The cabin was very comfortable and the excellent stove and warm shower meant we were comfortable even when the weather turned. Can't wait to come back again.
