Luxury Cornish glampsite with eye-catching eco-pods, a staggering treehouse for couples and traditional tent camping – all close to Bude's beaches and surf spots
Set within easy reach of Bude's pumping surf scene, this singular south west retreat can arguably lay claim to some of Cornwall's most eye-catching glamping accommodation. While operating a separate field for 50 or so grass tent pitches (with optional electric hook-up), it's the luxury camping that steals the show here.
For starters, there's the eponymous oval pods. Ingeniously designed, these green-roofed wooden cabins come kitted out with king-sized beds, heated showers and solar-powered lighting, not to mention all the essentials from cooking gear and a cool-box to lean futons for extra pod-mates.
Although they aren’t exactly surfside, these luxury abodes come close enough, with the beach and town just a 20 minute walk away. And lets face it, after a battle with the Atlantic swell, these trendy little eco-pods offer superior comfort and protection from the elements than a sand-blasted tent on the beach.
Next up, the Atlantic Treehouse is a staggering feat of arboreal architecture. The spacious timber-framed house features bi-fold glazed doors, a perfectly proportioned balcony, and a clear translucent roof on its north side, with the central trunk forking right up through the structure and providing shade on the south section. Despite its eco-credentials, couples in the canopy are not short of mod-cons with a double bed, state-of-the-art heating, LED lighting, kettle, combi-microwave, and electric cool box, plus a firepit, barbecue and private bathroom with a 'secret al fresco shower' on the ground level. And, from six metres up, the views across the rolling green countryside to Widemouth Bay are stunning.
Although luxurious, there's a charming quirkiness to Atlantic Surf Pods. The spin-off business of an ex seashell-trader, there’s plenty of shell-themed décor and a shell shop and workshop onsite, which can be a brilliant distraction when the surf’s flat, the kids are bored or, on that rare occasion that Cornwall is hit by rain.
Gone are the days when 'roughing it' was non-negotiable if you wanted to dip a toe in the surfing lifestyle Cornwall is so famous for (although if you still yearn for a spot of traditional tent camping, the field next door offers some of the best in the region). In fact, flopped on a giant beanbag, the gas barbecue alight and a cold beer in hand, initiation to ‘surf-camping’ can be positively luxurious.

Quite, relaxing, good all round
If your looking for a basic, quite and relaxing getaway this is the perfect location. Everything was as pictured, simple contactless check in and out. The only negative thing I will say is the WiFi was shocking. Would stay again.
Loved our stay in the Surfpods!
Great location close to Bude. The surfpod had everything we needed for a great stay; comfortable bed, basic private toilet and shower, gas BBQ, and fridge. We only stayed for 2 nights but wish it had been longer. 100% recommend!
Fab week - plus shell craft we ALL loved!
Camping is as expected. Cleaned loos / showers etc and hook up all worked fine BEST bit was the shell craft. The studio is not shouted about but it’s huge and we had a good 3 hours in there (family of 7 - age range 9-16) all including parents loved it. A lovely activity for a wet morning or afternoon and staff so nice chatting about history of shells etc. Even if this is not your bag it’s well worth a go. We had a circus next door and 5 min drive to the surf. Sorted! Thanks
Great relaxed campsite
We stopped here for a week, lovely campsite. Clean toilets/showers, lovely staff on site able to offer advice/help as needed. Would definitely stop again :-)
Pretty campsite needs better facilities
Overall we had a really nice stay at this campsite however the toilets and showers are not cleaned sufficiently which really lets the site down. The showers are often cold and the floor muddy. Investment in the shower block and the children’s play area are required.
I stayed here 17th - 21st June 2021. The site slopes (no mention of this in details). The toilets / showers were NOT cleaned everyday. For some reason campers were not spread out, thought i read somewhere 3 meters more space etc, however seems not to be managed that way. Apart from the above it was very peaceful and suited our needs.
Super cool staycation in the sun
We stayed at Atlantic Farm in a Surf Pod on their first week of opening after Lockdown 3, my children (and myself and husband) were so excited to get away, and to stay in a Pod!!! The pods were spacious enough for 4, bean bag futon was big enough for my 12 year old, bed super comfy and a big bonus to have a fridge, kettle and toaster. Everything was clean and we had everything we needed. Would recommend and we will be rebooking again in the future. Make sure to purchase a log basket and make use of the fire pits, whilst toasting marshmallows and star gazing!
Lovely, despite the weather
We had a lovely midweek stay in the tree house! Amazing views from the top, and a really nice sunset on the first night!! The lady who was there to greet us was very welcoming, and made us feel very at home. We had a slight problem with water due to heavy downpours on the second night, but we were swiftly moved to a lovely cottage!! So thankful for the lady that helped us to have such a magical stay. Would definitely recommend staying here if you love the cornish coast and countryside!!
Amazing pods, super warm, fantastic location
We had a fantastic week, despite very wet weather. The pods are spacious and extremely warm (with underfloor heating), and great equipment (king size bed, kettle & toaster and fridge!). Set in good amount of space, in small group of 3 other pods. Fantastic location, short distance from town with beach, swimming pool (with wave machine!), lovely shops etc. Great to have own toilet and sink. Used shared bathroom for washing. Lovely farm location, playarea for children, quiet at night. Would definitely recommend!
Well run and really fun
We loved our stay in a pod for two nights. It was October and very rainy but it still worked really well. The room was warm and the bed was sooo comfy and huge (perfect for midnight visit from our 3 year old!). The grounds are so glorious and the huts feel secluded and private even though they are close to each other. The only reason for 4 stars rather than 5 was because I’m not a fan of wet rooms / showers over a loo and also the room was missing surface area to prep food. To be honest if the weather had been sunny I probably wouldn’t have noticed and we would’ve used the table outside. Would definitely stay again.
We stayed in one of the surf pods for 3 nights. Its got everything you need for a relaxing get away from it all break. The pods are well equipped, the bathroom is just what you need and it's a brilliant location. It was a little chilly in the pod , but it was September so we were prepared and once the doors were shut it was fine. The hosts were great, it was close to Bude and there is the most incredible walk which takes in the coastal route which you can start straight from the site. We were sad to leave and already looking at dates to return.
Campsite was really lovely and clean with a bit of a surf/beachy vibe! The showers and other facilities were clean and nearby, and the site was really well located :)))
Great break in a surf pod
We stayed for a week at Atlantic Farm in one of the surf pods - it was well equipped, cosy and a fun experience staying in the pod, including the resident cat and giant beanbags! The BBQ and firepit in the evening were great and the location is conveniently placed to access Bude, its beaches and Widemouth Bay. We would definitely stay again and our only suggested improvement would be to provide some more planting between pods 9 and 10 so that there is more privacy. Other than that a great stay and we would recommend to others - thank you!
Ultimate chill spot yurting
Spacious yurt positioned in a quiet spacious spot. Relaced atmosphere with a large communal fire pit complete with wood to use. Warm clean showers. Great atmosphere, even briught our hammock from home to enjoy under the stars!
Peaceful site, comfortable mattress and great hot shower
Great location to Bude and beaches in a superbly organised quiet site. Clean loos and shower. Easily accessible and beautiful views over the countryside.
Highly recommended! We stayed in a bell tent for a week. Fabulous views, a whole field shared with only a handful of other tents, more toilets and showers were being built as we visited.
Fabulous location to visit so many great places - Boscastle, Tintagel, the coastal path, beaches and of course Bude with its excellent sea pool. Recommend eating at Temple.
Pictures don’t do it justice
We camped for a week in July. The pitch was lovely with lots of space and planting between pitches for a little privacy. Contactless check in was a breeze. Location was great - we cycled and walked in Bude many times. Would definitely recommend
A nice place to stay
We had a lovely time staying here at Atlantic farm. We used our own tent. The pitches are nicely laid out and facilities were ok may need a little improvement soon, also the pump for the water woke me up a few times. The kids made friends early which is alway makes a good camping trip. Also there’s farm animals to see which my younger one loved. And Verity the owner was engaging and friendly. The shop had the basics, enough to get you started.
Fab site, fab host!
Apart from the weather and the spiders in the loo (I'm a wuss, it's my issue, not Verity's haha, we had a fantastic stay with our daughter. Great to have the option of the extra bathroom. Running hot water, plenty of drinking water. A launderette on site which was very useful with a toddler in tow. Great location. Only a mile and a half to Bude shops and beaches. Really relaxed vibe, will DEFINITELY visit again :)
Fantastic site! We will be back.
We (family of 4 including 2 teenage sons) arrived at Atlantic Farm already knowing our plot number so were able to drive and pitch up straight away. Bonus! Within the hour the tent was up, we were organised and ready to explore both the site and Bude. Clean toilets and showers (2 blocks) were found along with outdoor sinks. Further we discovered an honesty Farm Shop - hot chocolate was purchased by my 2 teenage sons and enjoyed. The campsite was very nearly full with a mixture of tents, motorhomes and caravans. Bude is a short distance away and can be accessed by car or on foot. The site is on the A39 which was great for us as we like to explore the surrounding areas. We stayed at Atlantic Farm for 7 nights and were very impressed overall with the friendliness of other campers and staff and with the cleanliness of the facilities. Fantastic value for money for the week. The very best recommendation is to say that we will be returning to this site next year. Thank you Atlantic Farm
Great campsite, superb hospitality
Me and my partner came down here for the weekend as a relatively cheap getaway near the coast from the 9th-11th August, the weekend that down the coast Boardmasters Festival was cancelled because of the weather. Despite our optimism this weather did make its way up the coast and hit us whilst we stayed in the on-site Bell Tents (which were a nice place to stay, albeit kitted out fairly sparsely) and made the night pretty restless, waking up throughout to put pegs back in to stop the tent flapping around- genuinely pretty scary. We thought that we may have to cut the holiday short and return home, however the campsite team managed to move us into one of their surf pods for the following evening, which we were incredibly grateful for. All in all, we ended up having a great time and, weather dependant, I think that staying in the bell tents would be a great time. The camp crew were superb, within walking distance to Bude centre and pretty well kitted out. Recommend to anybody looking for a cheap(ish) holiday to Bude.
Absolutely loved it !!
We stayed in the tree house for 3 nights and fell in love with it , it was just perfect. Had everything we needed and was easy to get to some lovely walks and Bude centre itself. The staff were helpful and very friendly , we will deffo be returning back in the next few years hopefully. THANK YOU for a lovely time xx
Lovely relaxing camping holiday
This site is a really lovely relaxed site, we travelled as a couple however it is great for families too. There is everything you need, there’s four showers and four toilets, an outside washing up area which I loved, there’s a honesty farm shop where you can purchase essentials and freeze your freezer blocks for £2 per bag. I didn’t see any powers points for charging your phone and hairdryer ect if you haven’t got electric hook up but we didn’t require that. The owners were very helpful and friendly, the campsite is very well maintained, the grass is perfectly mown and everywhere is clean and tide. I’m already looking at going back to stay in the surf pods as they look amazing.
Great camping and facilities
We camped for the weekend with 8 adults and 1 child and it was great, facilities were clean and well looked after and they had a great shop/shell art studio. We would definitely stay here again they went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed, especially as we booked an electric pitch and forgot our hook up so they lent us one! Was only a 5 minute drive from the beach as well!
Beautiful setting for families
We stayed for a week in the Surf Pods and had a marvellous time. The pods are spacious and well equipped, our girls (5 and 8) loved the beanbag beds! There was plenty of open space and all the kids played together on the central field. We had 2 campfires (with marshmallow toasting) in the purpose built area which was really sociable. Wet room shower was better than expected, they are like swimming pool showers, you just need to manage logistics re towels and clothing, we just left a bag outside which worked fine. There are lots of cats about which are mostly wild so look but dont touch, also a beautiful sheepdog. We were lucky enough to see kittens born which the girls loved. Staff were all really friendly and helpful. If you are seasoned campers you will love the place. We recommend the beach at Crackington Haven but check the tidal times. The BBQ at Cabin Cafe is amazing! Also would recommend Hidden Valley in Launceston, great day out for families who like treasure hunts. Thanks for a fabulous week Atlantic Farm!
Great Value for Money,
Very Nicely maintained great size pitches, clean showers and washrooms, definitely worth recommending, we have enjoyed our family weekend
