Glorious glamping experience

What a fantastic place Emma and Rob have created. We stayed in the shepherds hut for two nights and just could not fault it. Fantastic attention to detail, super clean and had everything and more you could want. Hut was built to such a high standard, fresh milk, butter and eggs in the fridge, hot tub was spotless and piping hot and even the BBQ was stocked with firefighters and charcoal. The local area is wonderful, great walk up on the South Downs and local pubs and village shop were super close and just what was needed after a long walk. Cation is so peaceful, stargazing at night, owls overhead and an incredible view towards Chanctonbury Ring. We really hope to get back for a longer stay next time.

Basic camping in a great location

As described, the campsite is basic, but with well spaced pitches and great views. Just a single shower was working during our visit - we didn't use it but that didn't seem enough considering the place was full. We never met anyone from the camp site. Email said to choose a pitch on arrival and we left in the morning. Not that that's a problem, we were happy to be left alone and they did provide a number in case of problems. There didn't seem to be any recycling facilities as described, just rubbish bins. Also the rules around not parking next to your tent don't seem to be followed by many people, you are told to park in the 'designated parking area' after unloading, but it was very unclear where this actually was! These are minor observations though and not intended to detract from what is a simple campsite in a very beautiful setting.

Lovely relaxing stay at Gallops Farm :-)

First time visitors in our campervan to Gallops Farm Camping and we will definitely be back! We had a beautiful view over the rolling hills. The facilities are basic but all clean and in good working order Emma and family were all very welcoming and helpful. Hope to visit again soon!

Brilliant Camping Experience

I went in a group of 6 of fairly inexperienced campers! The hosts were extremely welcoming and provided us a small campfire, with a small charge for logs. The sand based ground was very easy to pitch all of our tents into and the facilities were reasonable given the small expense. The site itself is close to the charming village of Findon and a short drive away from the bustle of Worthing, with walks and sites to see nearby, its a great location! I would highly recommend anyone to book with the intention of finding an idyllic spot close to London!

Getting There

Don't rely on your SatNav to find Gallops Farm, as it turns you on to a rough back track to the farm before you reach Findon Village. Instead, heading South on the A24, come down to Findon roundabout (continuing past the turning SatNavs try to take you up). Take the first left off Findon roundabout down School Hill. At the bottom of School Hill there's a crossroads; go straight across, then take the almost first left (after about 40 meters) up Stable Lane. Gallops Farm is at the very top of Stable Lane. Go up to the top of the drive and then bare round to the right.

Gallops Farm is approximately 10 miles from Worthing train station. A taxi from the station to Gallops Farm would be in the region of £15. If you are a sustainable traveller, it will take around 30 minutes to cycle from Worthing Train station. Be prepared for the odd hill... you are coming onto the Downs.
