Tipi 1 (1 at Ye Olde Swan)
The Owner Says
Ye Olde Swan is situated in a stunning location aside the River Thames at Radcot Bridge, originally an old packhorse bridge on the main wool export route from Northampton to Southampton. The bridge, which claims to be the oldest crossing of the Thames was built around 1200. Ye Olde Swan has been a stopping off point for weary shepherds and travellers for hundreds of years to enjoy fine ales and good food. Nothing has changed, though the sheep have long since disappeared.
This tipi sleeps 4 people in a double bed and two single beds. There is a small table, chairs and storage trunk. Bedding and linen is included for your stay.
Choose the breakfast pack, BBQ pack or a bottle of prosecco for £20! You can also hire a paddleboard for 1 hour at £15 or a kayak.

About Ye Olde Swan
Campers, camper vans, motorhomes, groups, dogs on leads – yes. Caravans – no.
The Thames Path National Trail runs right past the campsite so getting out on foot is easy. Equally easy is taking to the river. You can bring your own vessel or paddle off on a hired kayak or stand-up paddle board. If you have a rod licence, you can fish from site too. There are plenty of classic Cotswolds towns to explore within 10 miles of site including Faringdon, Lechlade-on-Thames and Bampton (where scenes from Downton Abbey were filmed). The Cotswold Wildlife Park (01993 823006) is also within 10 miles of site. Kelmscott Manor (01637 252486), once owned by William Morris, is a 10-minute drive, Buscot Park (01367 240932), home of Lord Faringdon, is 15 minutes away and magnificent Blenheim Palace (01993 810530) is a drive of around 40 minutes away. Swindon, with plenty of attractions including rainy-day options from ice skating to trampolining, is a 30-minute drive.
Food & Drink
The obvious choice for food and drink is the pub, Ye Olde Swan (01367 810220) just across the waterway. In the summer there’s often a BBQ in the pub garden and, if you’re lucky, the mobile pizza oven and Prosecco bar might cross the river to the campsite. There’s a little shop on site for basic campsite supplies but if you need more, there are plenty of shops and eateries in nearby Faringdon and Lechlade. For a meal out, try the recommended tapas restaurant, La Bobina (01367 240578), in Faringdon.

Response from Ye Olde Swan
Fantastic situation, great site!
Ye Olde Swan is located at Radcot Road, Radcot, Oxfordshire OX18 2SX
From Oxford take the A420 to Faringdon, then the A4095 Radcot Road to Radcot. Soon after the village sign for Radcot, you will cross a bridge with traffic lights. The campsite car park will be on your right just after this. Ye Olde Swan pub is just beyond the next bridge
It’s not possible to reach Ye Olde Swan using public transport and the closest railway station is at Swindon some 15 miles (30 minutes’ drive) away... but arriving under your own steam by paddling the Thames or walking on the Thames Path is an attractive option.
