The Owner Says

The Viner family have been farming at Park Farm for over 100 years, true to our traditions we are still a working farm, these days we farm our 380 acres with crops and some goats for milking. We think Park Farm is a very special place and we'd love to share it with you.

The campsite is set at the top of our rolling meadows and each pitch has views stretching for miles across the farm and the valley beyond over to the Cotswold hills in the distance. After five years running a 'glamping' site we have tried to create what we think is the perfect campsite – somewhere we would like to stay ourselves – with 'proper' camping but with a few added luxuries to make it extra special.

When you arrive you can park in our clearly signed car parking area and collect a wheel barrow to transport your luggage down to your pitch - don't worry it's not far only about 400yds to the furthest end of the site – and it's well worth it to have a vehicle free, peaceful and safe area!

We are a busy working farm so there might not be anyone around to see you in but there is a board near the carpark showing which pitch you are booked into and everything is clearly signed so you won't get lost.

Each pitch has it's own private toilet shed with sink and cold running water, campfire area, picnic bench and more than enough space to pitch a large family size tent.

Campfires are positively encouraged and you can pre-order campfire wood whilst booking your pitch, but please do not fell any wood (see site rules). You are more than welcome to bring your own BBQ but please make sure it is raised off the ground.

Near the pitches there is an animal paddock and chicken coop, with our pet goats, sheep and chickens. The goats are super cheeky and love attention and making friends with our guests! You can collect eggs from the coop, if the chickens are obliging but these are first come first served!

In the farmyard we have free hot showers, washing up facilities and a small Honesty Shop selling a few essentials. Each pitch has it's own 'Honesty Jar' for the shop and campfire wood so please make sure you bring enough change! In the washing up area each pitch has its own locker with an electrical socket for charging small electrical items.

During your stay you are free to wander across our fields and meadows and explore the farm - just remember to shut the gates so the sheep don't escape!

About The Real Campsite at Park Farm

Suitable For

Tents – yes. Caravans, campervans, dogs – no. Large groups are not permitted unless hiring the entire site.

Viewing your surroundings is always a good way to start. Faringdon Folly Tower, a unique 100ft tower built by the eccentric Lord Berners in the 1930s, offers fantastic panoramas of the Thames Valley and, a mile or so further north, Radcot Bridge and Lock is a wonderful spot to stop for a picnic after. It's the oldest bridge across the Thames and was the scene of many battles, today, away from the lock itself, this area of the river is also particularly popular for wild swimming. To the south lies Uffington: home to the famous white horse; a hill figure carved into the chalk escarpment and thought to date back to 1000BC. For more farm fun, kids love Roves Farm (01793 763939) in nearby Sevenhampton, which has daily animal handling and feedings, as well as tractor rides and more. For something more exotic, spot rhinos, giraffes and zebras at Cotswold Wildlife Park (01993 823006), 25 minutes away. The dreamy spires of Oxford are also an easy 30-minute drive. Spend a day exploring its 38 colleges, pop into the various museums and visit the labyrinth of boutique shops in the covered market. And, if the weather's good, indulge in a spot of punting (01865 515978).

Food & Drink

If you're venturing off-site, you don't need to stumble far – it's a 10 minute walk to The Snooty Mehmaan (01367 242260), a multi-award winning Indian restaurant, including 'Best Asian Restaurant in Oxfordshire'. For something more traditional, The Lamb at Buckland (01367 870484) – serving local brews and seasonal hearty pub fayre –  is a pleasant hour's stroll away (there's a bus that can drop you back). Faringdon town centre, meanwhile, is home to plenty of other eateries. A few doors down, the Faringdon Coffee House (01367 241574) has a handful of outdoor tables – grab a slice of cake and watch the world pass by. The Trout Inn (01367 870382) at Tadpole Bridge is a touch on the pricey side, but worth it for its location on the banks of the Thames with views across the Oxfordshire countryside.

We couldn't believe it!

What a view! Our own toilet and running water! No visible neighbours! Privacy! Super relaxing and easy going! Very warm few days. Aaaahh. Fully restored.

Perfect mix of serenity and amenity

Brilliant for kids with access to Farm animals and everything you might need and none of the stuff you don't.

Vast views and stunning sunsets

A warm and friendly welcome from Lindsay (including smores ingredients which delighted our children) when we arrived, and a lovely and quiet set-up with plenty of space per pitch (for us, being on a small site was important). Loved the individual loo and running water - especially so as the shared facilities weren't available on our visit (due to Covid). All in all a very enjoyable weekend stay - thank you :)

Friendly, Covid-safe, no frills camping

We stayed in the second (enormous) pop-up meadow in August, and couldn't have been happier. Although it was no-frills, having our own numbered portable toilet made it feel quite luxurious! The owners were taking Covid precautions very seriously - there was so much space to distance from neighbouring tents, toilet was spotless, and hand sanitiser was positioned at the stand pipe. Alan was very welcoming, and we'll definitely be back. Oh, and do stop at their shop and pick up some goat soap, it's lovely!

Safe and comfortable camping

The owners went out of their way to ensure a safe and clean camping experience, with hand sanitiser on the water station, plenty of space between pitches and each group having their own portaloo. It was a safe and comfortable camping experience. The site is conveniently located for accessing many of the highlights of the Cotswolds.
